  1. UPDATE 12/12/23 - SD P/Ups found and added + strings changed Putting my long time back-up bass out to pasture as it's not getting used - and I want some new cabs! 2014 Fender Nate Mendel P Bass - Mexican made. Purchased by me new in 2014 from GuitarGuitar. It's more worn now than it was originally and I've made various alterations over the years - you may love it or hate it!! Candy Apple Red, ash body, maple neck, rosewood board on a very slim 'C' neck profile - more like a Jazz bass than a P in my opinion. Full deets in the images from Fenders Serial Check site. It's completely rewired with CTS pots, Sprague orange drop cap, Switchcraft jack and Formvar wire (had a static buzz/hum from original so started again!) Had the frets dressed as they weren't great from stock (Fender, huh? 🤷‍♂️) Swapped the Seymour Duncan QuarterPounders (didn't like them) for stock Lindy Fralins (which I love). I still have the SD's somewhere (UPDATE 12/12/23 - FOUND 'EM!!) and if I can find them will include them in the sale - but no promises. It now sounds like an old school P Bass rather than the 'hot rock' P it was originally intended to be. Added Hipshot Lightweight Tuners to combat the neck dive - it's quite a light instrument body so all that iron on the headstock wasn't helping the balance. Now it's sits perfectly, although the headstock looks a bit scruffy because of the old holes - but that doesn't bother me (in fact I quite like the aesthetic) 🙂 Weight now is 3.59kg / 7lb 14oz so is relatively light. For comparison my USA P Bass is 4.3kg / 9lb 4oz It plays really well, is super light and has a great classic P tone. Comes with the Fender branded soft case, all the documents it came with, the Foo Fighters neck plate (never fitted), thumb rest (third party) plus all the old tuners, screws and ferrules should you want the old look/weight back. Also included is an alternate Tort pick guard I got from WD Music. Currently strung with flats - D'Addario Chromes. Body condition - as I stated above, it's had a few bumps along the way - not too horrible but certainly more than the factory relic it came with. I added a thumb rest years ago (included) and you can see the screw marks on the body front. I've also sanded the neck down, as is my bent, because I found the lacquer finish too grippy. I'm looking for £750 for this bass which I think is fair considering these are currently retailing new at around £1,300. Not looking to trade. Collection is preferred from Tunbridge Wells (where you can try before you buy) or meet up within reason. I hate shipping guitars but would consider at buyers risk and cost. I'd estimate that fully insured next day service with a reputable courier is about £50. Thanks for looking 🙂
  2. It's one of the original ones with the larger case lip around the input/output sockets.
  3. Yes it has the original rubber strings. I've never restrung it but I believe you pass the string into the body and tie a knot. Probably a bit fiddly, hence the introduction of the mag plate on the newer models.
  4. Hi Andy. This is a U-Bass. It's an earlier model (2016) but basically it's one of these: https://www.thomann.de/gb/kala_u_bass_rumbler_mahogany_509895.htm This is a shot of the label inside the bass.
  5. Traded my Fender USA J for his Fender USA P. Lovely guy, makes good tea and shares my love of Barefaced cabs! Cheers Shaun 🙂
  6. Thanks man 🙂 It is a great player. I played it again last week for the first time in a long time and almost withdrew it from sale! I know however it would only get a little love then go back into its' case for another 4 years, so probably better in the hands of someone who'll actually play it!
  7. Hi, yes still available. PM me to discuss. Thanks
  8. Welcome Steve! You've also done a sterling job filling in for me too on the odd occasion!

I had this on an old PedalTrain 1 and it fitted brilliantly. Pic below for reference only - just the QMX is included in this sale!! 12. *Update 21/06/23 - Previously advertised as Evidence Audio but my mistake, they're actually Diago cables. Apologies. Description and price altered to reflect. *Update 17/12/23 - Price drop to £60 delivered to the UK I've stripped down my old pedalboard and have a load of Lava Cables - premade and uncut - and a set of Diago cables that need to go. LAVA - 13 pre cut cables in various lengths (ruler for ref) plus 6 more unused jacks (32 jacks total) and loads of unused cable + stripping tool. Essentially around 2 std Lava Cable kits plus extra jacks. Not all tested but can be easily reset if joint turns out to be 'iffy'. The kits retail at £63 (10 plugs + cable) and the extra plugs retail around £5 each so this is approx £200 - 250 of Lava Cables. *Diago Patch Factory - 3 short pre cut cables (not tested) + 2 more unused plugs + remainder of the cable + stripping tool (PF01 kit retailing at £69.99 from Hot Rox UK) Asking £90 £60 all in posted to UK Thanks for looking 🙂
  13. I've been using the Aggy Tonehammer DI for several years and cant fault it for quality toneshaping, plus it has the AGS circuit (although the gain jump when you engage it is, for me, not great). I play in similar genre bands to you and it seems to fit that niche well (using active 5 string, p bass, Fender Jazz and fretless). £263 from GAK currently and in stock!
  14. Just rounding out the journey - here's the Noble on my board. It's early days but I have to say I'm really happy I ordered one. The IEM sound is the best I've ever had and, running into the FX return on my AG700, my amp sound is awesome (to my ears anyway) through my Barefaced cab/s! Bring on the festivals!! Have a good summer all 🙂
  15. Update to this and at last my Noble is on the way - should be here Monday 🙂. For prosperity and on the off chance it helps any other bass brothers and sisters, I've paid £235.15 - which breaks down as £222.95 import tax and £12.20 brokerage charges.
  16. So, my update to this is that I've pulled the trigger and joined the wait list 🙂. Communication with Jack has been fantastic (only the third time a business has wanted to know about me, what I'm using currently and how I'm intending to use the product - first 2 we're Roger Sadowsky and Alex at Barefaced)! Hopefully it'll be here late May 23 - can't wait!
  17. Chicken grease. Won't help the veggie/vegan players out there but, damn! - Yummy 🐔🙂
  18. Hi All I'm just about to pull the trigger and join the 36 week wait list for a Noble DI, but can't find out any info on the additional costs for Import Duty and VAT to the UK. Have any of you lovely peeps been there and done that? If so, how much did you have to give Rishi for the privilege? Thanks in advance. Steve
