1.
Status..... pull out a Streamline and see the grins/smirks at a jam night that turn to smiles when you plug it in.
I get a similar thing with my Headless Status 2000. I have only gigged it three times, but if one more more person comes up and tells me "The end is broken off"......
2. Status. Well balanced, reliable, built like a tank, versatile. Not much a Status can't do!!
3.
Use the finest Wet & Dry you can find and just take the thinnest layer of surface off. Don't go through the varnish and definitely don't go through to the wood.
Yep... Certainly no coarser than 1500 grit and preferably 2000 grit.
4. If you have a car paint supplier near you, there are '3M Scotch' pads designed specifically for matting down the finish. They are used on awkward to get to areas, and available in different grades. Much better than pinching the green scourer out of the kitchen! Also... 2000 grit 'Wet & Dry' will do a nice job. (I wouldn't even consider using wire wool).
5.
headless - Bahaus movement.
?
6. 5 strings... Will he play the B, or use it as a thumbrest?
7. To be honest... Any Status bass looks cool.
8. A bass for £500 that sounds like a Precision? errr.... How about a Precision?
9. JayDee... Oh God, not another Mark King Wannabee! I agree that a black headless Status looks cool (I would, wouldn't I) particularly when worn at the 'proper' height (on the gut) and being played finger-style!
10. +1 P-Bass = Long scale.

12. Markbass show a graph of the filter shapes on their website and also in the owners manual.
13. The DareStrap looks like it would be pretty good for my petrol strimmer. Anyone tried one.... on a Bass?
14. Hi Peter, The VLE definately doesn't cut bass. It starts to cut at 250hz (low mids) and carries on cutting all the way up to the top (20mhz).... in a slope. The more VLE that is applied the steeper the slope. So, if both VLE and VPF are used together the effect would be a 'smiley' face with the left side of the smile being higher than the right. (Hope that makes sense).
15.
I always run my amp EQ flat and use the filters (never both together) to get my desired tone. Running both filters together seems strange to me as why fill and scoop the mids at the same time? Fairly obviously the cabs make a huge difference too as does the bass. In fact with an ACG pre amp most of my tone shaping is done 'onboard'. The GS112 Aguilars are great with the LM II and the filter can be used to fill the mids on these slightly mid scooped cabs for cutting through.
My understanding of the filters is: VPF... Scoops the mids centred at 380 and boosts the lows and highs. VLE... Cuts frequencies above 250 So both can be used (in moderation.... or not!) and they wont be fighting each other.
16. Hmmmm... I didn't notice any more Bass when I tried the Status Grounds, just less Treble.
17. I have been using 'Rounds' for many years and recently experimented with 'Flats'... and found them to be not for me. I then tried a set of Status 'Grounds' and they definately sit between Rounds and Flats... and have enough ring to be slappable. They are good quality strings (They are Status!), but again not for me, so I have gone back to Rounds. I only played with the Grounds for a few minutes at home and I'll be selling them.
18. My advice would be to mark the holes on masking tape, as already suggested then.... Find someone who owns a small drill press to drill the holes. It's worth doing properly!!! ...and no risk of wonky screws.
19. My osteopath would like me to buy that!
20.
Cheers peeps - I've gone with 2x18's suggestion... will let you know how good it is!
.... How was it?
21. Sold to SuperMaximo.
22. Max bought my Korg MultiFX. Friendly guy to deal with.... Cheers Max.
23. How much are you looking for?
24. Mr.T

Sold!

Do you have a cash price in mind?
25. Mr.T

Sold!

Might be easier to sell the Status and buy a 5-er with cash in your hand?
