  1. I have a Charlotte and the harlots t shirt which is now my painting top when st hunger came out , I thought that it's time to get rid of some of their rare stuff. So I sold a white label 12" of jump in the fire which I purchased for £1.20 on a stall in Camden market . I queued up in shades in 85 and got the band to sign it, plus the hell on earth tour poster . Lars was puzzled . I sold both of those for about a grand . I scanned before selling so I still have memories . The poster was quite worn . The master of puppets and helloween tour posters are staying tho 😹
  2. I had regrets about dumping my old metal tour t shirts from over the years . I did that years before eBay , so not so sad I guess. Probably the daftest thing I did was washing my Metallica ride the lightning sweat shirt which was signed by Lars in the duke of Cornwall pub next to the hammy o where him and James were . 🙀😹
  3. Radio station coming through my faulty active pickups from my Washburn status bass in band rehearsal . Odd, but also amusing .
  4. While having a thorough clear out , I looked at a few concert tickets I stumbled across . Out of curiosity , I looked in flea bay , and realised that in a lot of cases original stubs from big names are just sitting there , with no bidders . not outrageously priced either . Same with your programmes , although iron maiden fans are always interested . When times were hard a few years back, the most money I made from tour programmes was the AC/DC highway to hell tour, and motley Crue theatre of pain tour . of course autographed stuff by legendary figures would be worth more . A lot in some cases. Not sure about autographed basses .. Anyway , your thoughts ..
  5. Going through my collection , I'm getting too many duplicates by the same artist . what do you prefer ?
  6. Totally gutted . Favourite ever drummer . Percussionist and all round genius RIP 😿
  7. Howdy! I need to concentrate and get myself back into the right frame of mind and actually make proper use of the stuff that I have. After moving into a smaller flat and coming to terms with health issues that make me not want to do anything , I'm beginning to declutter my mind and stuff in flat. I have recorded bits on sound cloud ( Mellowcat ) , but struggle to find out how to actually record anything properly and they become demos. Gear: I have all the gear and no idea ..imac / Mac mini / bass/ moog Grandmother not used much and various bass effects . I use reason 10 and before Xmas treated myself to launchpad mini 2 which includes Ableton live lite . I was thinking of paying for online lessons for reason and Ableton live . I was looking last night at the reed website and they have a sale on until March . I have an old Roland sp202 sampler and dr 202 drum machine . I love the launchpad and blocswave apps at the moment what are your thoughts ? Thanks
  8. Funny thing about Andertons: I saw a you tube clip of the captain and chappers totally slagging off headless guitars and basses . They went through various players and just said that the majority went back to headed as nobody really plays headless as they just don't look right . Interesting to see how many they get in stock or shift Those Ibanez basses do look good..second thoughts after looking on the Andertons website I'm not too keen on them . I have a Washburn status ( wine red) . If I were to get another headless it would be a proper status . After
  9. Thanks booom:) I managed to do the pram thing, when I put the installation disk in to repair . What I'll try and do is erase the external hard drive and dump the Mac mini .
  10. Howdy ! The probable answer is to bin it . I purchased a new iMac in nov 2017 (was gonna get another Mac mini but at the time there was talk of Apple scrapping them) . I transferred my stuff from old Mac mini to iMac . I also have an Apple TV box in the living room. Now here's where everything went crazy and annoying : The Mac mini seemed to have inherited a bug from somewhere and has slowed down and not responding to any commands. So I used time machine on my external hard drive. The hard drive is now full. The Mac has gone back many years and even has the old icons from the days of my Bt broadband . Tbh , the only thing I use the Mac mini for ( or did), was for the iTunes visualiser . I know I can mirror that from my iMac in the spare room but I don't want to keep going back to change the artists I'm listening to. The Mac mini is about 13 years old ( snow leopard is as far as it can go). So.. have I screwed it up? As for the external hard drive , I'd like to empty it if it is full. My iTunes library has disappeared on the Mac mini, but is still on the iMac . The clock on the Mac mini is years out of date . That doesn't help. Thanks for reading this weird post 😼
  11. Thanks al krow for mentioning this I can confirm that it's on its way to Binky Bass. Both of the FS-6 foitswitches does momentary or latch positions . It says on the manual anyway . nice setup there Binky. Do you play for the Rolling Stones ?😺
  12. Price includes postage UK only Got this a few years back , as I was gonna get a Roland bass cube with looper . Alas, I got the micro cube and this hasn't been used . works with 9v battery only .
  13. Strange band . Awesome talent . Did they have a rivalry with faith no more , or was that just paper talk? I saw them on the positive mental octopus tour at the marquee . Great gig and totally raw and fun . Saw them at Brixton with Henry Rollins supporting . I cannot remember the albums that they were touring with, but after seeing the marquee gig , I purchased mother's milk. I played it a few times and hated it , so off it went . I like blood sugar sex magic ( apart from under the fridge). Although I think one hot minute is definitely on a par . I bought the californication album and found it patchy . Saw them at Wembley arena when they played the entire gig wearing a sock each . I didn't enjoy that gig ,and not sure what album was being promoted . Haven't bothered with them since , and cannot remember the last time I played their stuff. when I was in my last band about 10 years ago, we started playing by the way which I detest, but a lot of people like it. I saw them on jools Holland a few years back , and they seemed to be enjoying theirselves . Sounded good , but I have no idea what album they were promoting .
  14. Only my opinion , but that guy seems spineless and also part of it . if he was a decent , straightforward kinda guy he wouldn't have agreed to the sacking . 2 against one is a horrible situation to be in . Sounds 2 faced . I do wonder if the band was called Bruno and the backstabbers 😼
  15. If it were me , I wouldn't have told them I'm not doing the gig . I would've just ignored any contact with them and moved on . They're history now , Enjoy the chase to find your ideal band .,
  16. Going through a life evaluation again . Haven't been in a band for over 10 years , but have a few basses. When I lived in my last place , I had basses on the wall and in the living room . I had an 8 string , a 5 , 6 , string , a telecaster bass , dean taxi bass , a steinberger full body bass , and a fretless . Nearly forgot the jack Daniels bass. Falling on hard times a few years ago, I trimmed the herd and thought I'd miss the telecaster especially , but tbh it was heavy and the band members were not too keen on its muddy ness .My first proper bass after learning on a tree copy of a precision was a Washburn status which I still have moving into a small flat , I bought a fretless / headless from a basschatter and a Warwick corvette standard . I put basses on walls. The jack Daniels is staying in the living room. The Dean taxi bass is staying in the bedroom . I have got into bad habits by keeping basses as ornaments and not bothering with them . This has to stop . I have sold the steinberger subject to the usual today . One of my friends says keep it , but I've already got a headless and a headless fretless . What will probably happen is I'll carry on trimming the herd .I like the look of mint or surf green basses. What I may end up doing next year is getting rid of most of my basses and have a mustang or stingray old smoothie or something . One thing that's annoying in a small flat is having loads of gig bags , when I'm not even gigging . Back when I first started gigging and learning I had 3 basses which was enough . The vester fretless, Washburn status and a hohner cricket bat . They were not on display and were used regularly .Must resist thinking about the green basses for now ..
  17. Yes , pretty much the dogs 🐶.👍
  18. Well , I forgot about it . Lots going on . Sorry . ive pm'd you ,and a previous person who has emailed me . Haven't pushed it , as I do think of keeping it ..
  19. I'd be amazed if it wasn't satch tbh. Maybe something off of the time machine album ?
  20. I have the fretless version . Great bass!
  21. Strange the way the world has changed so much in a relatively short time growing up I used to love football and heavy metal . Metal was always seen as the underdog of music and often ridiculed . I remember reading shoot magazine , and the subject of shirt sponsorship before it got to where it is now . Now you have Metallica ( metallicorp ) , and maiden who are absolutely massive . Great bands no complaints . I always knew maiden would be massive since seeing them at the marquee , music machine etc sane with Metallica . But tbh , never knew these bands would be this big , and metal in general . Having said all that , I'm bored of football now and refuse to pay to watch it ,especially with the likes of saddo berhanino/ sanchez and a lot more mercenaries who get paid way too much and decide if they can be bothered to play or not . Plus you have the managers who lose the dressing room..you get the picture .. Fair play to stevie tho who is living the dream , and doing his bit for the club ..
  22. Being a semi novice recording wise, I'm curious of the novation launchpad mini, which can be used on iPad and Mac . Not wanting to shell out full price, I just purchased the mark 2 version for £38.09 instead of £68. One of the reasons for this is because the mk 3 version has just been released .my thinking is that if I get on with the mk 2, I'll try and get a similar deal this time next year ...
