  1. Thanks for the input regarding the stands . Good to know . I think I'll stick to what I have . I take it you're sending , or have sent the Aragon back to the retailer for refund . Hopefully you'll get something else , and not be put off entirely . For me, I don't like anything complicated. I stick with moogs ( grandmother, minitaur dfam ) , plus Waldorf streichfett and rocket . The streichfett is cheap and cheerful ...if you like the sounds . The only pita for me , is the size of the grandmother . I often think about trading it for a sirin which is expensive and discontinued , but it's just a minitaur but an octave higher, Not much menu diving for me 😬 I plug iPad into GarageBand when using other apps . Maybe Modal Electronics have gone the same way as Moog 🤔 Even Bass guitars , and multifx go wrong . Keep us posted
  2. Another bump for you . 🤔 I doubt you'd be able to post stand if you wanted to sell to me ? I have ordinary keyboard stand , but this looks more compact .
  3. Just re read this thread. It seems like you should just send the Argon 8 back , and hopefully get a refund / exchange for something of better quality . I am interested in the K&M stand though .
  4. So are you saying the K&M Stacker &Table Adaptor has collapsed all of a sudden ? I could have misunderstood , but you did say gone south . Sorry to hear about your latest woes . I don't know what could be done to sort out the issue . If it's the stand , would Thomann give a refund ( probably I'd imagine ) or further compensation ?? ( Cost of repair etc ) If unmarked , would you be dishonest enough to contact the sellers of the Argon8 claiming a fault with hopefully getting it fixed / replaced under warranty ?? Not advocating anything , and of course you could pay for repair if you wanted to . Please keep us updated . Things like this are really infuriating and have happened to many of us here and elsewhere . This is a downside of having a niche hobby I guess. The trouble these days is mass production , poor quality control and all things China, Indonesia and Vietnam seemingly. Hopefully you don't pack it in on the synth front . There are always apps 🫢😁 Is Behringher a route you'd consider , once you've calmed down ? At least their stuff isn't that expnsive in the scheme of things ,and wouldn't burn a hole so deep in the pockets . A lot of people despise Behringher due to ethical reasons . Also there's the sound you prefer . Probably not moogs . Also, could you get something more compact that you could use with your computer instead of needing a keyboard system .? FWIW, I have a coffee table that I purchased with my computer desk . I'm finding it a pita to find something that I can get to raise to put my moog grandmother synth on. It's just too low . The joys of music as a hobby ..😊
  5. The Bush Hall. Is that Shepherd's Bush Empire under a different name ? Haven't been to London gigs for sometime 😬
  6. This seems wrong on so many levels imho . Like him or loathe him , Johnny Rotten is one of the most recognisable front men / women in rock . To replace him is akin to replacing Freddie Mercury with Adam Lambert , although the circumstances were different obviously . Tbh and again imho, I think raw punk like this is for the young and that they are all just grumpy old men who can never get the vibe they originally had . I don't know Frank carter ( I'm out of touch I guess ) , and he may do a good job with them . It seems like a cross between a tribute act , and a cash cow grab. I could be wrong , I could be right . I never went , but heard about the negative vibes regarding the Finsbury Park gigs . Regarding the Billy Idol gig at Glastonbury , I saw that and it was like watching Dick Emery or Freddy Starr . I'd say it was time to give it up and do something low key instead . What, I don't know . Same in a strange way , with David Lee Roth . He needs to stop now .
  7. Sold Ben a pedal , with no problem or fuss ! Highly recommended . A pleasant transaction with a pleasant Basschatter 😼👍
  8. The packing staff obviously never boxed clever . So it wasn't a rotosound espresso machine after all .
  9. Would ordinary guitar ( not acoustic ) gigbags work? I got one for my headless Washburn status which fits just about .
  10. Sometimes it's just best to take a break .
  11. I'm in a strange situation regarding recording and inspiration . The funny thing in this topic , 3 of you have helped me and given me advice when I was trying to understand Midi 🙂 Back when I was in cover bands , I was working in not well paid manual office jobs always getting up at 5am , combining that with " socialising " etc . Yes, I know I wasn't the only one in this situation 🙂. Basically , I was a Bass Player , who plugged and play with an occasional basic effects pedal . Most of this was pre internet. Back in the year 2000, I purchased my first computer ..a lime green iMac . Trouble is , it was way too hard to get a grip of anything . This was because OS9 went to OSX . Anyway leaving that there for a moment, I got a Mac mini in 2007 . Unfortunately , I couldn't afford to buy one with much ram/ memory and GarageBand wouldn't run smoothly . A good friend of mine gave me a copy of Reason at the time , but that just looked like advance maths to me . I got a line6 audio interface ( toneport ux1) which I still have . I think the iPad has been an amazing leap forward . No extension crashes , buy apps as and when if wanted and much less hassle than what I've experienced above . This takes me to my present issues and annoyances .... 1. Soundcloud : have many " efforts " recorded on there . However , paying £10 isn't enough for them ! Everytime I log in, they keep hassling me to go pro+ . I am thinking of looking for an alternative , but don't know where to look . I do have a few artists I follow and vice versa. It would be sad to lose them . Plus of course , I have many followers who are just promoting theirselves . 😄 2. Using the 2017 iMac in general : Takes a long time to warm up . I have clean my Mac which is ok . Plus the software updates ! Plus when purchasing 3rd party Moogerfooger plugins, they disappear - then I have to try and get them back through Moog website . A complete pita . 3. GarageBand doesn't do midi ! 4. I have Reason 12 which I hardly use if at all . In the past software updates have stopped me being able to use Reason 11 . I hate software updates ! I have thought about getting rid of my iMac and recording on iPad solely . Even then , Launchpad for example keep bombarding me to join their subscription services . I have thought about purchasing Logic Pro for Mac . Having said that , it's now on iPad ( subscription also ) All of these things put me off , and spoil the moment and make me not bother at all . I have progressed I suppose , with a small collection of synths . I think it's more of a software v hardware thing . I want simplicity and not open university . Having said that, although hardware is my preference ( for now) , it takes up a lot of room in my small flat . I don't mind using headphones . Anyway, I'm going on . Just to say that I hope that anyone can advise on my musical mood swings and I hope things improve in your situations. I have a feeling you'll get your inspiration back 🙂
  12. That's a nice bass! Love the colour . It reminds me of the Dean Stylist Bass . This bass looks slimmer . Glwts !
  13. Nice and compact, they do not take batteries. No power supply for individual pedals. . Please note that Normal PayPal or Bank Transfer only . Friends and Family has a bad reputation on here , so I can't do that . prices : Mooer E7 £ 40 Mooer Trelicopter £18 Would take £50 posted for both . Price includes postage / packing
  14. That SKOW Deep purple tribute looked good . I enjoyed that vid . Actually better than when I saw Deep Purple at Wembley back in the '80s. Gillan coughing more than singing etc . One truly awful gig . Another band that deserve a mention is The Iron Maidens . Unfortunately never got round to seeing them .
  15. Ritchie Kotxen = monster . Lucky to see him with the whinery dogs . I have an instrumental, album from him somewhere . May have to give it another listen .
  16. Sorry to hear this .. Regarding PayPal / eBay when I purchase something PayPal ask if I want to use credit or debit card to complete the purchase. It may be an idea to contact your card company / bank also to explain what happened . ( I'm not sure if that's allowed though , as you've already contacted PayPal ). when looking at the seller , I always check their feedback . Paypal and eBay have been very good in the couple of times I've needed their assistance , and 🤞that continues if needed. Hopefully , all will be well and you get refunded .
  17. Good points ! I don't gig anymore , but tbh if I did I'd get a 5 string and have done with it . ( I couldn't properly focus on 5 string at the time due to moving around enthusiastically on stage 😬) One thing I remenber being in a blues band that played obscure tracks, was when the guitarists put hair bands on the 3rd or 5th fret when they 'down tuned ' ..
  18. The Grandmother is the first syth I purchased . It is great . This led me to buying the Dfam , and the minitaur. I do like that mixer stand ... Glwts 🙂👍
  19. I'd imagine playing in standard tuning would probably seem odd to you initially . For me , all of the classic rock covers were in standard tuning . From what I remember , thin Lizzy and quo tuned down a half step although I stand to be corrected . Avoid hotel California imho, as for me it was tough and I couldn't do it in my ltd capabilities . Paranoid is easy Peasy , and wishing well was easy enough . My fave to play was black night . Maybe put the list on here if you're unsure of some ?
