1. I'm thinking of killing two birds with one stone and purchasing this to use both with my bass and new guitar. The main problem with recording the guitar at home is the lack of brightness, and generally dull sound so I'd mainly want it for a tonal boost and a bit of edge. Then I'm hoping it would also be useful for the bass. Do you think it'll be okay for dual purpose?

3.
Love it, Kev.
Thanks, Rob.
4. A couple of old tracks of mine all done on a 'prepared' Wal bass:
5. As you can see it's a very simple setup with my mascot chicken taking up prime position, permanently perched on a speaker. I knew when I spied him across heaps of tangled wires, remote controls and broken children's toys at the Deptford junk market all those years ago I had to save him. He watches over me and I look after him. We're like brothers. It's just a Mac running Logic into an EMU 0404 (so I guess I have a chicken and an emu!). No mixer - don't need one as the 0404 is so well designed. There's a Roland cube nestling under the desk. I've had the same amp and speakers since 1988. Close up of the creative force behind my music:
6.
Also going with the "spooky wedding" vibe, I humbly present the following for your consideration: https://soundcloud.c...-headless-bride
Witty and theatrical with a modern touch from the guitars.
7.
Love it! I know it is a spooky wedding theme but that could hav ebeen the world's most evil toy box
Thanks Mike
8. The whole series has been truly dreadful this year. Loads of tired rock acts and DJs with girl singers and mood lighting. Bloody awful show.
9. Okay, here's my contribution: https://soundcloud.c...mbung/slow-glow Look forward to hearing the others...
10. I'm going to have a go this time. 'Bout time.
11. Electric instruments and even acoustic guitars were not considered real instruments when I was at school. Pop music was not considered music at all and none of the teachers knew what Top of the Pops was. Corduroy trousers, chalk dust and Mozart were very popular, however.
12. And a track made with the guitar above: https://soundcloud.c...bung/make-it-so
13. Room for a guitar? Alan has made me a lovely little Tenor guitar. Very pleased with it. Here's a pic of my son playing:

15. Not much choice on the 32' scale front, unfortunately.
16. I am sitting in a cafe right now and Paul Young's Every time I go Away is playing...and I can honestly say I could quite cheerfully strangle the bass player and singer to death right now.
17. The worst basses are always other people's.
18.
The world moves on Kev! You don't need to bash flints together to make fire any more
Congratulations, Clarky, this the clumsiest metaphor I have ever seen on Basschat!
19. 'Celtic/flamenco mix'? I might throw up!
20. Where are the dancers, Clarky?
21. I love this film also.
22. Different instruments have different cultures, don't they? Violins, cellos and flutes and other orchestral instruments are usually introduced to the child by the parent. The parent then anxiously frets and worries about finding a decent academic teacher in the same way they worried about finding a good school. An involment with Guitars and drums tend to be prompted by a more complex peer group/ social situation, not by parents...unless you've got a modern, guardian reading parent that insists on taking the whole family to Glastonbury every year. The cult of amateurism is preserved and you get Scouting for Girls.
23. This is an interesting topic. My 11 year old son showed an interest in the drums this year and I managed to borrow a kit for him. Next thing I know he's learning all the drum parts to the Everything Everyhing records. The school also offers lessons which is handy. Before that I tried to interest him in guitar and bass obviously (as we have those around) but he told me in no uncertain terms to stop bothering him and that he wasn't interested and I should butt the hell out of it. It's difficult to judge.
24. Impressive. I also have one. They feel like a £2000 bass
