2. Well, this is interesting from Ansir Music. Some welcome experimentation with the playing angle.
 3. Great stuff.
 4.
However, I wonder if that addresses the topic of shared Philosophy ?
Erm...probably not!
 5.
Hi all what philosphies does music share with painting and sculpting etc ?
It shares the gallery in common with the case of an installation featuring sound. I've seen a lot of music/art crossover things. The defining factor always seems to be context (the gallery). And that's the answer to your question!
 6.
its for string tension. im dropping the b string down a step also i have spindle fingers!! so i should be ok
I would recommend playing a bass with the same scale length to see if it suits you first. 36" scale is pretty huge.
 7. Why do you want to the scale length so huge? It'll be a hell of a stretch, won't it?
 8. bass, mid, treble, compression, line out. No fan.
 9.
The basses really are lovely, but this is definitely the star of the show for me. Stunning.
Agreed. I wouldn't be surprised if the guitar outsells the basses by a mile. It's a masterpiece.
 10. This is probably my favourite fretless bass performance ever: Percy, of course....
 11. Ricks really don't go SPRAAAANGGGGG do they?
 12.
For me, just no. All that gold and glossy finishing, I'd always feel that if a Premiership footballer were to take up the bass this would be what he'd choose. *shudder*
I know what you mean. They do look like something like the Beckhams or even Michael Jackson, bless him, would have picked up on a shopping trip. Sort of Fabergé egg vibe...
 13.
Me neither.
It's possible their customers may be trophy, art collector types rather than players if you know what I mean. Strange they don't get played much or seem conspicuous in bands - unlike equally expensive basses such as Alembics and the like.
 14. The guitar is the real design innovation there. The basses remains the same with various flamboyant finishes. As a company, they really know how to present their product well. I've still never seen one or played one, or seen one played in a band or on TV or anywhere and have no idea if they have a special sound character or not.

 16.
and part of Basschat folklore.
Yeah...what is that all about? (I have a feeling no one's gonna give me a straight answer)
 17. Ah, you've left out pics of the most interesting bit which is the neck-setting and routing! Did you get any of that procedure?
 18. Depends if you want your design to be judged on its practicality or its aethetics. Aethetically it's quite elegant. In practise the headstock will be bashing into the drummer's cymbals and catching on low roofs and won't last long and as pointed out, cannot be angled because of its length. It will also have terrible balance and the neck will head for the ground. It will not balance on the knee either.

 22.
The Germjoin is beautiful and Rosies voice also.
Thanks! These are all going to be on an album of songs. I've got another three to finish off and it'll be done.
 23.
Lovely. Are you palm muting?
I am. Big fan of that style of playing and it suits these kind of songs. No crazy stuff needed!
 24. Another one for all you Basschat folkies:
