1. Probably the saddest and most moving song I know of
 2. -------
 3.
cool thread. Your old band sound like someone Primus may have been influenced by.
I taught Les Claypool everything he knows.
 4.

£11.99 to adjust the action? You've convinced me...
 5.
Have you tried imperial allen key sizes as well? They're usually frustratingly close to the metric sizes, but not close enough to do the job properly.
I'm not sure. I've got two keys that nearly fit either side of the measurement... but don't.
 6.
*Allen You might well find that your bass needs a 'chinese 4mm' key... i.e. anywhere between about 3.5 and 4.5mm without actually being 4mm. ps. I still listen frequently to your Kirby Dots album... mesmerising stuff.
Thanks for coming to the rescue, Rich. Yes, the key is an awkward size between two well known sizes - so I'm sure you're right even. It's probably more like a O.4, though. Glad to know you're still enjoying Kirby Dots
 7.
What's an alum key?
You know... the little hexagonal thing you adjust the action with. Maybe I spelled it wrong...?
 8. Nice. Why is it in B&W, I wonder?
 9. I have the same problem with my Iceni Bass. Batteries last for 3 weeks with minimal use
 10.
Incredible bass player. I dug out my old copy of 'Livestock' by Brand X the other day and played it. Not really a jazz-rock afficionado but that album really hits the spot with me. Very atmospheric and melodic. The distinctive sound he had with the fretless Precision is the same as he had with a fretless Wal and now a fretless Ibanez, proving that it really is in the fingers ... not the instrument.
I'm in full agreement.
 11.
Its on Youtube aswell :-) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9NO_Pq3p5i4
Thank goodness for that! Thank you, Rodders.
 12.
Would like to see this but don't want to be monitored on any SN sites.
Are you a secret agent or something, Steve?
 13.
And if you're not on Facebook?
Hard luck, I suppose. Pretending Facebook isn't on the internet is akin to flat-earthing these days.
 14. Some great playing here http://www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=1385263349961

 16.
That's a fine looking new ACG, which I guess takes some of it's inspiration from the Affirma? Has it got the ACG EQ1 Filter pre-amp? And if so how do you think it measures up against the pre-amp in the Wal?
Yep, right on both accounts and I'll get round to answering all that in detail soon...
 17.
I think I remember seeing you playing that Wal on The Tube in the mid 80's? Bet thats seen some serious action! Nice collection
Yep, that'll be the one. God, I wish Ipswich Town FC has a player anywhere near the quality of John Wark.

 20.
I'm happy to say, that amp is on some great music in my collection!
nice one!
 21. Still my main amp:
 22.
Selling basses, the most common thing I hear is: 'I've been told it's easier than playing guitar'
It is.
 23. Very impressive looking design
 24. 4. Never been tempted by more. Reasons are: 1. I honestly cannot hear notes below a D (yes I know this is a tone lower than the E but it's not a good enough reason to go to 5) 2. I don't like the thick cable-like B string. That's the first thing you see on a 5 string. It turns me off. A high C does not appeal either. 3. A 5 needs lots of extra muting and dampening 4. I would rather hear a higher octave with more fundamental than a lower octave with virtually no upper harmonics. 5. Nothing beats the sheer joy of having four strings under four fingers for me. That's what attracted me to the bass in the first place.
