I'm going to see Stiff Little Fingers in August. Peter Hook and the light are on the bill, as is Mr Matlock. I'm not sure if he'll have his own band or will be playing with someone else.

I haven't tried any of the Sonic basses, but I'm getting one of the Telecasters for my daughter. It's a decent instrument, well put together and plays nicely. I'd imagine the basses are of a similar quality.

I went into a music shop to buy one,once, but got a brain freeze and couldn't remember the word "coiled". I said something along the lines of "Have you got any, umm, spiral leads? You know, the curly ones." Thankfully, the guy knew what I meant, although he did look at me as if I wasn't the full shilling.

You aren't wrong about being big U2 fans. The guy in the white shirt, with the ponytail and cross earring is very Joshua Tree-era Bono.

That reminds me of the Siadwell sketch from the TV show "Absolutely" - We lost my Grandad the other day. He's not dead; we just don't know where he is. 😆

I'd forgotten how good the OHMSS theme is. A much maligned Bond film too. I always thought Lazenby was very good as Bond and that ending... 😭

I'm going to play by very strict rules here and go for something my local shop shows as being in stock, so it will probably have to be the Ibanez TMB100M in mustard yellow https://matchettsmusic.com/collections/bass-guitars/products/ibanez-tmb100-mustard-yellow-1 Although I might be tempted by the Hofner Shorty, just for the fun of it.

My CD player died a few months ago, so I haven't really been listening to music in the house, other than on the radio, or via the Echo. I have an MP3 player with most of my albums on it and listen to it when I'm out (I can connect it in the car with an aux cable too). I've ordered a Positive Spark Go, which doubles as a Bluetooth speaker, so I'll be able to play the MP3 player through it too.

Things just never worked out. The singer and guitarist went to university. Other stuff happened.
