  1. It's possible that a lot of these kids are creative as well as having the ability to play the covers really well. They might just put their own music up in their Bandcamp or Soundcloud and post the covers, almost as clickbait, to get people to check out their original stuff.
  2. If it's a covers band, then I'd say the occasional "thank you very much" between songs along with the odd "are you having a good time" would be fine, apart from when one song runs into the next obviously. If it's an originals band, then maybe a bit more chat between songs - introduce the band, give the song titles, that sort of thing. For a tribute band I'd expect it to be similar to what the actual band do.
  3. Did you think of that joke on the (Mc)Fly? πŸ˜†
  4. Black was the album that turned me off Metallica, then Nevermind came out and my musical tastes took a different direction.
  5. Learn the new lyrics too. πŸ˜„
  6. I think it would have to be "The Worst of The Beatles" πŸ˜„
  7. I still think of "Heatseeker" as a new Ac/DC song, as it's the first new song I can remember them releasing, even though it's over 30 years ago. πŸ˜„
  8. It was the first Iron Maiden album I ever owned. Loved it then and still do. Was it more that the critics who didn't like the keyboards, rather than the fans.
  9. He didn't say, unfortunately. I've seen a couple of videos with him recently. In this one they gave him a Gibson custom guitar. He seemed to like the finish for the most part but overall looked like he had stepped in some dog's doings πŸ˜„. In the other video they asked him to select a favourite Squier from a bunch. He was pretty impressed with them. I'll see if I can find the vids. Correction, it's an '85
  10. I saw a video on YouTube recently, with Ron Thorn, one of Fender's master builders. He said that out of his collection of guitars, his favourite is a '95 (I think) Squier.
  11. I looked them up and realised "oh yeah, of course I know him"
  12. I'd never heard of them, but they were fantastic (did you notice his trousers started falling apart? πŸ˜„)

    Hello

    Welcome to the site Peter.
  14. I had never looked into their name and always thought that the Gorky bit was from Maxim Gorky, the writer; the Zygotic bit I thought might have been Welsh for 'psychotic' and Mynci I guessed correctly as 'monkey'
  15. Certainly not this. Or my children will be next.
  16. Joy Division. Someone loaned my next door neighbour Substance when I was about 14. I was into Iron Maiden, Guns 'n' Roses, Ozzy Osbourne, that sort of thing, so JD just did not appeal to me. I got into them about 3 or 4 years later and now they are one of my favourite bands.
  17. Might want to fix the spelling mistake on the homepage though πŸ˜‰
  18. Lovely looking guitar. It would be a shame for all that work to go to waste because of a dodgy truss rod.
  19. I caught an episode of "Cash in the Attic" on Tuesday. There were a Squier Precision, a '95 Fender American Standard Strat and a 90s Fender Tele up for sale. There is an '82 Squier P bass (Jap.) on Reverb that looks similar, for Β£815. The one on the programme sold for Β£650. The Strat got Β£850 and the Tele Β£550. The CitA woman valued the Strat at 300-400, the Tele at 300-500 and the bass at 60-90! πŸ˜„ If anyone is interested in watching it, it's on the Channel 5 website, series 1, episode 7. The relevant bits are at around 14 minutes and 35 minutes.
