  1. I can confirm that the edges of the housing are a bit rough, but I have not attempted to use it for manscaping purposes.
  2. I got the classic chorus today. Seems great for a tenner (+ p&p). I don't have a lot of experience with effects and play through a cheap HB amp, but it my daughter recognised "Come As You Are" and it sounds great for Banshees style 80s indie and goth stuff.
  3. Very little of that made sense to me - it's all word salad, but still interesting to follow the thread. Does it go up to 11, though?
  4. There seem to be a lot of these mini pedal coming out, all with very similar casing and controls. I wonder if they all come from one or two factories and just get painted with different brand names.
  5. Interesting. I'm looking for a chorus pedal, so I'll keep an eye out for your review.
  6. I bought an electric guitar a few months ago and having been trying to learn a few blues licks. On Tuesday I was practising some bends and snapped the high E string. Luckily I had a spare set, so I changed all the strings (they were only the cheap ones that came with the guitar - Harley Benton). Wednesday, practising the same lick and "twang" - same string went, so I've ordered half a dozen high E strings from Amazon 😄
  7. It's not something I can do, but I'd imagine anyone interested in the job would want to know your budget. Why did the original owner do that? It looks like it's been pulled from a house fire!
  8. You say you already have a fretless bass. Are you considering another fretless to get a different sound or just to have another bass? Have you played fretted bass before?
  9. Glad to hear it, thank you. Now, about the light switches, cooker and fridge that I've wired up in my house... 😄
  10. This isn't something I'll be doing any time soon, but can I check with you, are there any safety issues with touching the capacitor? I have a vague memory of reading somewhere about it being dangerous to touch a capacitor that hasn't been discharged. (You can probably tell that I don't know much about electronics)
  11. The OP did say that the goal was to play live.
  12. If the singer and guitarist intend gigging, he's going to have to practise.
  13. Lovely bass. I have to say, I'm in the tort camp too.
  14. But, but surely the clatter is the whole point of Maiden basslines! 😆
  15. This might sound like a silly question, but is it not the case that you need a little bit of relief in the neck, rather than a completely straight neck, or else you run the risk of fret buzz closer to the headstock?
  16. I used to have a bass tutorial video on VHS. It was introduced by Jools Holland and I'm pretty sure it was Henry Thomas giving the instruction.
  17. Is that a Wishbass, or a bass he bought from Wish? What is he doing to that poor instrument?
  18. They did quite well at the time. They were NME darlings.
  19. Axe basses! I haven't heard of them in years. I can remember one or two people buying the guitars.
  20. I don't know much about the professional music world, so can I ask how they can afford someone like Steve Albini to produce them? Do they have a record deal (how?) or has mummy or daddy financed them?
  21. Ironically, the bass playing is probably the best thing in that video.
  22. I'm not even sure if there is an equivalent to Tiswas, Swap Shop or Saturday Superstore these days. My daughter never watched anything like that growing up. On TV it would have been things like IN the Night Garden or Peppa Pig, then as she got a bit older, stuff on You Tube.
  23. Loved that. Who would have suspected Mees Leymon to have played that?
