He didn't say, unfortunately. I've seen a couple of videos with him recently. In this one they gave him a Gibson custom guitar. He seemed to like the finish for the most part but overall looked like he had stepped in some dog's doings 😄. In the other video they asked him to select a favourite Squier from a bunch. He was pretty impressed with them. I'll see if I can find the vids. Correction, it's an '85

I saw a video on YouTube recently, with Ron Thorn, one of Fender's master builders. He said that out of his collection of guitars, his favourite is a '95 (I think) Squier.

I looked them up and realised "oh yeah, of course I know him"
-
I'd never heard of them, but they were fantastic (did you notice his trousers started falling apart? 😄)
-
I had never looked into their name and always thought that the Gorky bit was from Maxim Gorky, the writer; the Zygotic bit I thought might have been Welsh for 'psychotic' and Mynci I guessed correctly as 'monkey'

Certainly not this. Or my children will be next.

I would not say 'New...', But a peaceful return from a decade away.

Welcome to you both -
Might want to fix the spelling mistake on the homepage though 😉

Lovely looking guitar. It would be a shame for all that work to go to waste because of a dodgy truss rod.

I caught an episode of "Cash in the Attic" on Tuesday. There were a Squier Precision, a '95 Fender American Standard Strat and a 90s Fender Tele up for sale. There is an '82 Squier P bass (Jap.) on Reverb that looks similar, for £815. The one on the programme sold for £650. The Strat got £850 and the Tele £550. The CitA woman valued the Strat at 300-400, the Tele at 300-500 and the bass at 60-90! 😄 If anyone is interested in watching it, it's on the Channel 5 website, series 1, episode 7. The relevant bits are at around 14 minutes and 35 minutes.

I can confirm that the edges of the housing are a bit rough, but I have not attempted to use it for manscaping purposes.

I got the classic chorus today. Seems great for a tenner (+ p&p). I don't have a lot of experience with effects and play through a cheap HB amp, but it my daughter recognised "Come As You Are" and it sounds great for Banshees style 80s indie and goth stuff.

Very little of that made sense to me - it's all word salad, but still interesting to follow the thread. Does it go up to 11, though?

There seem to be a lot of these mini pedal coming out, all with very similar casing and controls. I wonder if they all come from one or two factories and just get painted with different brand names.
-
Interesting. I'm looking for a chorus pedal, so I'll keep an eye out for your review.

Steve Bruce on backing vocals? 😄

I bought an electric guitar a few months ago and having been trying to learn a few blues licks. On Tuesday I was practising some bends and snapped the high E string. Luckily I had a spare set, so I changed all the strings (they were only the cheap ones that came with the guitar - Harley Benton). Wednesday, practising the same lick and "twang" - same string went, so I've ordered half a dozen high E strings from Amazon 😄

It's not something I can do, but I'd imagine anyone interested in the job would want to know your budget. Why did the original owner do that? It looks like it's been pulled from a house fire!
-
You say you already have a fretless bass. Are you considering another fretless to get a different sound or just to have another bass? Have you played fretted bass before?
-
Glad to hear it, thank you. Now, about the light switches, cooker and fridge that I've wired up in my house... 😄

This isn't something I'll be doing any time soon, but can I check with you, are there any safety issues with touching the capacitor? I have a vague memory of reading somewhere about it being dangerous to touch a capacitor that hasn't been discharged. (You can probably tell that I don't know much about electronics)
