  1. I'm sure it would be a right bugger if a string snapped. It would take your head off. 😂
  2. You are probably now legally obliged to buy one.
  3. Venus in Furs by The Velvet underground and Nico for me on the Dunlop (?) tyre advert. I bought the Stiltskin 12"single. Side A was the instrumental version, I think, with the vocal version on the B side. Let's just say, it didn't get played very often.
  4. New Order rhyming too much with... too much on True Faith
  5. Ant's are incredibly strong for their size. Maybe he's going to use the ant as a roadie to carry the cab about. 😃
  6. I was quite disappointed by Sisters of Mercy. Some songs I didn't recognise until about halfway through. On the flip side, I was blown away by Lou Reed. We all know what his reputation is like, so I wasn't expecting much when I saw him perform "Berlin" live. He was amazing and even signed autographs at the front of stage afterwards.
  7. It seems to have worked treat. Got it screwed on, tuned up and it was grand. Even the intonation was nigh on perfect. The skewer was bamboo BTW.
  8. I tried a cocktail stick, but it was too narrow. A kebab skewer was just the right size though. I've just fitted it and am waiting for the glue to dry before trying to refit the tree. Thanks for your suggestions.
  9. Today, I took the strings off my bass to check the pickups. After restringing, I left the bass and when I came back a few hours later, the tree had popped off. It won't screw back on as the hole is too big in the headstock now. Would wood filler work to fix this or would slightly bigger screw be better?
  10. "Robert de Niro's waiting, talking to Tanya..."
  11. Anybody know what bass she is playing? Custom made maybe? 😂
  12. The first bass I ever played was an Ibanez Precision copy. I've no idea what model it was as this was about 30 years. We used to practise in the local YMCA. initially I was the vocalist, but due to "musical differences" with out bassist I took over bass duties. The bass weighed a ton and had quite a wide, heavily lacquered neck and was a sort of powder blue colour. Fond memories.
  13. Aria Pro II... that's a name I've not heard in a long time (strokes beard wistfully)
  14. Was anyone else as disappointed as I was when they discovered that "Limahl" is just an anagram of his real surname "Hamill"? 😂
  15. CP Grogan from Altered Images, Toyah and Trevor Horn (Buggles)?
  16. Roots, Radicals and Rockers by Stiff Little Fingers
  17. Siouxsie and the Banshees covered "Dear Prudence" in 1983, having covered "Helter Skelter" a few years earlier.
  18. Curiously, not long after watching this/reading the post, a signed copy of Therapy?'s greatest hits dropped through my door!
  19. I usually sing "Dum dumma dumma dum dum waaahh, dum dumma dumma dum dum waaahh..."😄
  20. Belfast has been ruined over the years and I don't mean by the bombs in the "good old days". Whole areas of the city centre have been destroyed, or are due to be destroyed, all in the name of regeneration.
  21. I've used them on my phone and mp3 player and are fine with them.
