  1. I haven’t worn these myself, but our drummer swears by the plugs he has, made by Elacin - https://www.elacin.com - he had his moulded to his ears like a hearing aid with -9 db filters. He got them through Hidden Hearing - he has had them for ten years, but reckons there are probably cheaper options out there these days

I can confirm Elacin protection is great, I do use 15 dB filters though.

Elacin are made by Etymotic Research, probably one of the first companies to make "filtered" ear plugs that were actually any good as well as near-flat response in-ear earphones.

If you buy ear plugs by companies such as 'Hearos' - they are also Etymotic Research products - indeed, the give away is that the product name usually starts ER. i.e. ER25 would be a 25dB attenuation plug. I used the moulded models for years until I lost one!

Your alternatives include ACS who also make filtered moulded ear plugs and they are available in the UK for a good price. Even better if you buy them through Musician's Union https://musiciansunion.org.uk/membership-benefits/musicians-hearing-health-scheme under their Musicians' Hearing Health Scheme.
