This is an export JV Squire. Neck date is 10/11/82 For those of you who don't know, these were produced using American pickups and hardware, and although not the rarest of the JV models, the export model was the higher spec and generally accepted as being the closest to a pre CBS model. This guitar is showing some signed of wear on the maple neck, although nothing that affects its play-ability and the frets have plenty of life left. There are some knocks in the body finish, but probably less than one would expect for a 35 year old instrument. It has had a 5 position switch fitted, and this looks to have been done professionally. Other than that, it looks to be original.
http://s1104.photobucket.com/user/simontdo/basses/JV%20Strat/story
According the the guitarist in my band, the neck is amazing. I'm in Bournemouth, if anyone wants to come and try it out. Thanks

OK, I've done a bit of research on this and it would apear that the US '62 reissues are supposed to have the double stacked control knobs. As is obvious, this one hasn't. I've spoken to the lady I bought it from and she insists she bought it new at Anderson's in Guildford in '96 and has never changed it. I've taken so more photos of the back of the control plate and the neck etc. Maybe Fender ran out of stacked knob control plates in Feb'96? -

Another bass for sale. I need to thin out the herd. This P bass is totally original; it has not been messed with in any way. The serial No is S9, with a matching serial number in the neck pocket. Also in the neck pocket is the a date sticker reading 26th October '81. Its a Scorpio! There is some wear in the paintwork that can be seen in the photos, but otherwise, the condition is exceptional. The pickups and pots look original (although the dates on the pots are obscured by solder), the frets have hardly any wear. It also comes with the original pickup covers. It plays extremely well, the neck is straight and the truss rod works as it should. Weight is 9.9 lbs. Pretty light for a late 70s Precision! More pics here http://s1104.photobu...es/79%20P/story It does not have an original case, but I have an old case I can provide if required. I'm based in Bournemouth, if anyone would like to come and look and have a play Thanks for looking Simon

£850 I have for sale, a 1996 US Vintage re-issue '62 Jazz. I’m told this is a 50[sup]th[/sup] anniversary model (although I don’t know what difference that makes) It has all the original case candy including the string mutes and bridge/pickup covers that have never been used. Considering its over 20 years old, the condition is exceptional, almost as new. There are a few very light scratches in the Nitro finish lacquer and a few very small knocks on the end of the head-stock. Weight is 9.2 lbs Model Name: U.S. Vintage ‘62 Jazz Bass® Model Number: 019-0209-(3-Color Sunburst) Series: U.S. Vintage Series Body: Alder Neck: Maple Fingerboard: Rosewood (7.25” Radius/184 mm) Frets: 20 Scale Length: 34” (864 mm) Nut: 1.50” (38 mm) Hardware: Nickel Machine Heads: Vintage Style Bridge: Vintage J-Bass Pickguard: Tortoise Shell, Pickups: Vintage 60’s Jazz Style Single Coils (Neck & Bridge) More photos here (hopefully) http://s1104.photobu...62%20jazz/story It comes with a non-original Thomann vintage tweed case. I haven't bought or sold much over the year’s I’ve been on here, so don't have any feedback. Although I have bought/sold from drums1977 and Old Horse Murphy, who I’m sure will vouch for me. I am based in Bournemouth, if you want to come and have a look, but I’m happy to arrange a courier if required. I'd imagine that would be about £25. In terms of trades, I might be interested in older 4 string Fenders (or maybe even the little 6 string things) Thanks for looking Simon
