I'm selling this to get a separate head and cab. My back is too old and screwed up to keep lifting this in and out of the car. It works fine. Just fitted a new VU bulb! A few battle scars but nothing drastic. It was built in the UK, 2001. Looking for £300 Located near Southampton. Thanks for looking Simon can be posted for £30.

Actually I sorted the problem. I was rehersing last night and an hour in, it did the same thing again. I tried the valve/solid state blend - no difference. So I DI'd it straight into the PA. Same thing I changed the batteries in the Bass (again) and all was well. It turns out that our g*****ist (who supplied me with new batteries last week) got a job lot of PP3s and they're rubbish. Half of them are duff and those that work, seem to fade after a couple of hours use. Then if you leave them for a day they're ok again (well, for a few hours). Duracell from now on

well, I tried it this afternoon and it was fine. It had been running about 3 hours when it went wrong, but its never done it before. I've taken it to bits. The valve didn't seem loose, But I'll order a new one anyway (thanks Machines). Ashdown said it sounds like my output devices going soft
Did you check the batteries in your wireless and the squelch control? Last time I had 'orrible sounds like that it was the squelch. No idea what it does but it stopped the distortion.
Checked that. In fact, I tried it direct into the amp with no wirelss or FX.
Do you use a mix of solid-state and valve. I had an intermittent with my ABM and found I could cure it by re-seating the pre-amp valve. Take it out and push it back in again.
I do use it mixed. Just off to go and play with it now. I'll check the valve.

Hi guys, I need some technical assistance (and possibly a new amp ) I was rehersing with the band last night and I started having a few problems with my amp. At first I though it might be the Sax player's Wireless transmitter interfering with mine (it it still may have been). I was getting some intermittent squeaks and pops out of my amp. Anyway, checked it out, sax player changed channels and it seemed to go away. Until 30 mins later when my bass starts distorting (bit like Muse ). I tried new batteries, disconnected the extension cab, and then the one in the combo, but still the same. I cant have blown all 3, can I? Its an ABM 500 15" combo with a 2x10" extension cab. Anybody else had a similar problem? Thanks in advance Simon

MusicMan StingRay For Sale I don't really want to part with this, but I'd rather someone played it. The fact of the matter is that I just don't play it enough anymore since I got my Shuker. Anyway: Black/Maple 3 EQ I bought It new about 4 years ago, but serial number implies its a 2001. Very good condition a few small dinks (see photos: 1 just in front of the bridge below the G string and two small marks on the headstock) and playing scratches on the scratch plate. Looking for £750ish better pics now added: [attachmen t=4292:P1010160.JPG] [attachmen t=4191:CIMG1332.JPG]
How are Jon's Precision pups?
Fantastic! Tried it though my Ashdown rig last night and it sounds nothing short of amazing I'd agree with OldGit, The Precision Pups give a really fat sound. When I play finger style it sounds like the best P Bass you've ever heard. When I play with a pick it justs ROCKS! Not suprisingly, it sounds just like JJ Burnel's sound on the last stranglers album. What I didn't expect, is that with a bit of the Jazz Pup dialed in (that's overwound to the same spec as the P Pup) it has the fattest slap tone I've ever heard. Its just a shame I'm crap at slapping Although I have the feeling I'm going to improve now
How are Jon's Precision pups?
At the moment I've only tried it though a 60Watt fender practice amp so it's difficlut to say. Jon's got my P-Bass at the moment so I can't make a direct comparison. I would say they are very similar, maybe a bit more punch. I've got a practice on thursday with my full rig, so I'll let you know then.

Its home and I've hardly put it down. I told Jon I wanted something that sounded like my 78 P bass but played like my stingray. Well so far it sounds as good if not better than The P Bass, Its got the extra Jazz PU to give me a bit more flexility and it plays fantastic! Way better than the stingray. It even slaps better (not that I undulge in much slapping - just Areoplane in guitar shops ) I've only tried it on my practice amp at the moment. Can't wait to unleash it on the Ashown rig in the week  Compared to the P Bass, its as light as a feather too. Anyway here's a few pics... (Sorry they're a bit crappy quality its a dindgy old dull day) Orange LEDs bit self indulgent, but who cares. Off to be alone with it a bit more
