WARNING OF CONFIRMED SCAMMERS
tubbybloke68 replied to binky_bass's topic in eBay - Weird and Wonderful
There's an alembic 5 string on eBay being sold by tesco outlet or something. Click on description and it says a buy it now price for £1200, for a series model!!! Mmmmm I don't think so. Pristine and stunning is somehow they describe it. Be very wary folks, I reckon:-/ -

2xberg ae210's and 2xgenz neox112's
tubbybloke68 replied to tubbybloke68's topic in Amps and Cabs For Sale
Hi barrie! Hope you keeping well mate! Yes they stack very well/ solid and safely in my option. They are pretty much as new really , few small, and I mean really marks on metal corners but that's about it. I think it's a very fair price with covers and all.as regarding the ae112's, thanks for your offer but I don't think the're what I'm after at the moment... Now if anyone had a super 15 bf I might be interested! Best to contact me on 07747690241 as I'm gonna be out for rest of the day/ most of evening. If I don't get back straight away it's because I have lots of driving to do today, but I will ASAP Best regards to all, jeff -

The 'wal factor' , once you've heard it, played one.... There's no going back :-))
-
When you stop and think about things, it brings it home doesn't it? We have the luxury of pondering what strings to use? What amp should I get? Will this cab suit my style or not?this and that. We have that LUXURY, others did not. Their Only goal was to stay alive and survive in conditions that we can't even begin to imagine. They where victims of their time , unlucky to have been born when they were, forced into a situation they had no choice in, forced to fight and die.this may seem 'heavy stuff' to post on here, but it was a lot lot heavier for them endure. So next time we pick up our basses and play,or fart about with our amps and effects, let's remember WHY we can, hey?

Hi there, it's difficult to explain but they certainly have 'a sound' think smooth creamy tone that can punch through a mix with ease. I've had sooo many compliments on my sound it's untrue!!! I think if you were to play one is the only way I guess. For me it just really is a case of the 'wal factor' the middy tone just cuts through without all the fret noise. Perfect bass for me!!

Unrecognised / Forgotten Bass Influences
tubbybloke68 replied to xilddx's topic in General Discussion
Hi guys ! Can I just add Colin moulding of XTC , very tuneful , thoughtful player and never gets the credit he deserves in my opinion :-) -
Hey Freddie, I've got two neox 112's and a super 12. In my honest opinion the two genz cabs give me a bigger, fuller sound than the super 12 with my shuttle 9,so a neox 212 would defo be loud enough I would say. The super 12 form factor is hard to beat though and of course it's British made which is nice too!
-
I've got a super 12 with a shuttle 9, very light cab but a do find I have to eq it alot to get any bottom end 'presence' from it, I'd go with the neox 212

Hi guys, picked up the wal passive that I brought on here a couple of days back, first gig last night, one of those basses that immediately feels soo right , and well the sound just speaks for itself. Simply stunning. I've had/ still got a wal 5 for years but to be honest it never gets gigged cos I just can't get into the ' 5 string thing' but this latest one, what can I say but WAL!!!

Genz Benz shuttle 9.0 into a Ae112 berg cab?
tubbybloke68 replied to tonyclaret's topic in Amps and Cabs
Yeah I wish they still made the ae 12's ! If they did I think I'd get a pair too. Got a pair of ae 210s and they are great! Good luck with things anyway, and have a great Christmas !! -
Genz Benz shuttle 9.0 into a Ae112 berg cab?
tubbybloke68 replied to tonyclaret's topic in Amps and Cabs
I have a shuttle 6 & 9. They are voiced slightly different, the 9 designed for bigger type cabs. Obviously it would give more power into 8 ohms for you but if you mainly use one cabI don't think you'd be using it to its full potential , especially a small ae112. I've just got a barefaced super 12 and to my ears the 6 sounds better through it than the 9,.on the other hand the 9 into my two neox 112 sounds huge, rich and creamy.i don't think you'd notice that much difference.maybe just try the bass boost to fill out the sound a bit?..
