  1. Congrats on your new acquisition! Bernie really does make classy stuff! Here’s my two. Hope you enjoy it as much as i enjoy mine. All da best x
  2. I used screws the exact same length as the ply is thick and reinforced them with clear gorilla glue, smoothing around so as a silicone type finish. Very durable job I think, trying to stack them on corner pieces wasn’t stable enough for my liking. Much better now.
  3. First thing I done when I got my pair of Monzas was to put heavy duty rubber feet on them as I wasn’t confident enough with the corner pieces when stacked. Simple enough to do. Other than that I’m really pleased with their sound and performance. Glad you’re enjoying your new unit! Great products x
  4. Just back and having the usual tea and toast from our first ever gig at the famous wedgewood rooms in Pompey with the Phil Collins tribute. Geoff, the guy who is the main man there is such a gent! Super nice guy who has a fantastic team of people working for him. The sound lads were very friendly and professional and done a fab job for us. On stage sound was perfect and everyone said how good it was out front aswell. (11 piece outfit so not the easiest to sort out!) Got about 275 in there tonight which wasn’t bad for a first pop. Very appreciative audience and they said we are welcome to another gig there nxt year 😊. Used my GB spitfire 5 again, through my usual puma 900/ LFsys Monza rig, PA support obviously. All together a really fun experience.x
  5. I live in Horsham, I saw the kid a couple of years ago and he’s pretty handy! Don’t know who he is but very unusual (and pleasant) to see a bass only busker 😊.x
  6. Such a great photo! Lovely to see your lad looking so happy with his bass, long may it continue and I wish him much fun and success in the future x
  7. Think there’s one for sale at bass bros, I’m sure you probably know anyway, yeah they don’t come up for sale very often. All the best jeff
  8. Thanks Dave, yes I was very privileged to have acquired it a while back off of rumblefish on here, mr robin vick . Enjoying the lighter gauge strings on it too .
  9. Just back from Stourbridge town hall where I played with the Phil Collins tribute, lovely old place and the audience and atmosphere were brilliant, decided on the GB Spitfire tonight, put lighter gauge strings on as a bit of an experiment. Had to push the low mids on the Tecamp puma and dial off a bit of the bottom end as it was sounding a bit ‘flubby’ , not tight and punchy how i like it, but after a good sound check everything was fine and nicely cut through as the show went along. My LFSYS Monza was fab as usual. Not very rock’n roll but enjoying a nice cuppa and a couple of bits of toast after a long drive back to West Sussex.
  10. Really enjoying this bass, only had it about 5/6 months ago. Punches WAY above its weight ( and it pretty light) fantastic B string with addario EXL 170’s on it and it’s slightly under 34 inch scale. Best £730 I’ve ever spent i reckon. It just cuts through the mix SO well. I’m a very happy bunny! X
  11. Yamaha Trb mk1 slapcut model with a’dario Es 170 xl high tension strings, and it’s not even a 34 scale, just under.. I’ve lots of high end basses and the only thing comparable are my Wals. But then again…. How long’s a piece of string… good luck with your quest! X
  12. Loved tiger music, brought my Ibanez MC924 from there which I still have to this day. It was up for £450 , it had( has) a slight blemish in the wood/ varnish on the back . I genuinely only had £400 on me and left the shop with my mate feeling really dejected having played and fallen in love with it there and then. We got about 50 yds down Sydney st and the bloke came out and shouted at me to come back as he’d decided to let me have it. I was about 18 and I think he must have felt sorry for me, he obviously saw how I was smitten by it. Lovely guy he was and i think that big beaming smile on that spotty little oiks face must have made his day as much as it made mine! Happy days x
  13. Hope you can acquire one Terry, they are soo good! Best £730 I ever spent!
  14. I’m a TRB convert of 2/3 months having picked up a MK1 5 ‘slapcut’ from Joe geezer on here. Absolutely blown away by it! I think you’ll really enjoy your new acquisition.Nice one! X
  15. A 2x12 should be fine I’d say
  16. An unusual gig this morning at a classic car breakfast meet down in Hampshire with the new funk band and then back home to Horsham to play at kings Lea school fate this afternoon with some old musician friends. Really enjoying my GB Spitfire 5 since it came out back from a service by Bernie recently. Sounds fantastic though the puma and LFsys Monzas . Now to enjoy a nice relaxing evening ( not playing) x😊
  17. Didn’t some of them suffer from warped necks at some point? Maybe it’s one of those?
  18. Just got hold of a trb5 mk1, absolutely blown away by how good these buggers are! A tad under 34 inch scale and the b string is amazing . Very versatile. Enjoy yours x
  19. Ok , so it was actually Saturday night just gone but we had a fab local one for us at the hawth theatre in Crawley, 600 tickets sold, and such an appreciative audience. I recently purchased a Trb 5 mk1 Yamaha, one with the ‘slap cut’ recess. Second show I’ve done with it and I’m bloody well blown away by how good it is! The b string is sooo good, i never imagined I’d get on with the wide neck, but it’s nice and shallow and seems to fit me like a glove! Lightweight as well ( from what I’m used to anyway) the B string actually interacts with the other strings and is so useable.Ironic as it’s by far the cheapest 5 string I have. happy days! X
  20. Yes I still own the puma 900 and am still very happy with its performance 😊
  21. I’m in Horsham, West Sussex and have two Monzas if you are around my way and want to try them 😊
  22. Glad you like it, I had one too, but strangely, out of all the barefaced cabs i owned (5) it was the one i couldn’t get on with.I suppose it did make me realise that i preferred cabs with tweeters
  23. Bloody tragic, another home grown company gone FFS!! ☹️
