Jeff Beck's gear auction at Christie's
tubbybloke68 replied to Hellzero's topic in General Discussion
Best thing on there i reckon, a lovely piece and a steal at that price …😉x -
Yes indeed, very nice looking, would love to have tried one out . Prehaps the quads had too many options for the average player, I don’t know? Quality kit though I’m sure . X

Oh ok , thanks anyway . Sorry to derail the topic, getting back to the OPs one, yep fab little things, enjoy!! X

I’ve got one, I upgraded the pick ups to dimarzio jazz ones , made quite a difference, not that the stock ones were too bad anyway. Yes lovely little basses indeed and yes I’ve always thought that the one Eastwood made for Scott was sooo classy and have more than a few times wondered whether to ask them to do me one. A 32 scale version with multi coils would do me 🤣.love the small , alembic sc styled body. Don’t suppose you know if Scott’s original has a slimmer body than the chowny version do you? I do like a slim body ( haven’t one myself though 🤣) best regards, jeff

Nice little NYE dep job for a great local cover band, here in Sussex. Very slow start crowd wise for the first two sets but it all came good in the end. Pretty pleased with my performance and the stingray sounded fab through the LFsys Monza. Appy new year folks ! X😊

Look very impressive! My wallet’s trying to creep away to a safe dark corner …

Yep, couldn’t have put it better myself 😊

Yes indeed! Love my Two Monzas, usually just use the one as most of my gigs are through the PA these days, but they really are quite amazing little units. X😊

Just back from our usual 2 nights at Trading Boundaries Christmas gigs. Lovely intimate atmosphere as always and only just under an hour’s drive away from home. Both nights went very well and I always feel Xmas is here on these occasions. Happy Christmas everyone, my best wishes to you all 😊

Few years too late but Skinner’s sheds, based in or near Rye East Sussex I believe. Ordered a shed for my mum’s back garden, paid for it to be erected there aswell. Made a base out of old railway sleepers, checked with a two metre level for trueness etc.(I’m a flooring contractor so I know a thing or two about levels etc. unfortunately i couldn’t get there in time when they delivered it and were supposed to build it. When I got there the bastards had dumped all the shed panels leaning against the apple tree and apparently the f**kers had said that the base wasn’t level enough!! I asked mum if she had seen them check it and she said no they hadn’t. Obviously no intention whatsoever of ever doing it anyway. I rang the office and spoke to this f**king tosser who was not only rude but thick as f**k with it too. Looking back, the good side was me and my brother put up the shed with much greater care and attention than they would have done, and said shed is still standing happily today with no problems, oh, but not enough roofing felt was supplied either, so we had to sort that out. So please, if you’re after a new shed, don’t get it from that lot!! aaaahh, i feel better for that. Rant over 🤣x -
Just home from a great gig up at the stables in Milton Keynes with the Phil Collins tribute’ no jacket required’. Fantastic audience as usual and always such a pleasure and privilege to play at this wonderful venue. Some guy donated £1000,(yes £1000) to our charity the bridge house trust for the homeless. Another kind person gave £100! Never ceases to amaze me , our audiences appreciation and generosity .Decided to use my status empathy 5, it’s been a while since it’s had an outing but really enjoyed playing it.A lovely thing indeed. ‘Appy days!😊

Who makes a decent 32 scale P in the UK?
tubbybloke68 replied to DF Shortscale's topic in Bass Guitars
Ok it’s a jazz rather than a precision, but i just brought the 32 scale anaconda ultra J elite off of Bernard on here last week and have to say it’s a bloody fantastic bass, hand made in north London. Worth checking them out .Really impressed with it so far. 😊 -
I think sabbath were at their best with Dio , mob rules being my favourite. The intro to turn up the night still gives me goosebumps. Slipping away is a savage riff/bass line. .Brilliant stuff 😊

I still use my shuttle 9.2 quite often, it’s aclass act. have a streamliner 9 but don’t use it so much these days. Used to have 2 neo x 112 cabs when they first came out, they were great too . Quality gear for sure 😊. Enjoy x

I think round wounds are much more versatile really, glad you’re happy and enjoying new choice x 😊

Yes, a drummer who i know asked if I could stand in for one rehearsal…. So i went for the craic. Not particularly impressed with the outfit but it meant they got a run through. 40 miles round trip and I never got offered petrol money 🤣.Driving back I did wonder why I’d agreed to do it… but there you go!! 🤣

Bernie Goodfellow makes a 32” spitfire model i believe, I’m sure he could tweak one of those for you x -
