  1. Just back from standing in for a localish soul/funk band . Marquee gig in a very busy pub garden. Done another gig last night with the same guys and both went very well considering no rehearsal or anything. Last night used my GB Spitfire and today decided to give the distillate a spin. Great fun and I think I gave a good account of myself. 😊👌x
  2. Saw a vid some when of him playing a savage ole ken smith BT 4, the guy’s the dogs dangely bits! Brilliant x
  3. Amazing! Why does this bass make me think of this fella? Good luck with the sale x
  4. Have never tried…thunderbirds, violin hofner type, any Gibson basses come to think of it,hardly any precision type.lusted after a rickenbacker because geddy had one and had all my illusions shattered when I finally got hold of one at a Earl’s Court music fair years ago. would love to own/have a blast on a proper original BC rich eagle, a steinberger L2 , smith BT 5, Wal Mk 3 5string 🤪
  5. Hi, is this 34 or 35 scale ? Many thanks
  6. Every time i play through mine they seem to sound better and better and I smile more and more…do speakers’bed in’ and loosen up?? I don’t know but these little buggers keep producing the right results for me x😊
  7. Lovely looking piece of kit that! Congratulations Ewan 😊
  8. Oh bloody heck! I used them about 3 years ago when i shipped an alembic SCD to Corsica!!!Thank god it all went very smoothly with FedEx and I never needed to claim. Crafty bastards! Never again! Thanks for posting x
  9. I’m most definitely not a fender man , let alone a precision BUT, this is one totally cool piece. Good luck 🤞 x
  10. It’s whatever floats your boat I guess, I’m down to 2x LFSYS monza cabs, puma 900, and genz shuttle 9.2 and a streamliner. All of my needs covered very well. One cab is more than enough for rehearsals /pubs and two when i want to spoil myself 😂x
  11. Andy was( and hopefully still is) an absolute genius.I always went to him without fail when i needed set ups or any work done on my trusty MC924 musician and it always felt brilliant after his work. Also quite handy seven dials, Brighton only 25 minutes from where i live. I heard( but don’t quote me on this) that various lacquers, paints he used affected him so he gave it all up BUT again, that may not be the case. Anyway, i have always wondered myself what happened to him and if he was still working with quitars/basses I’d take some of mine back to him for work in a heartbeat! I do hope he is still around and ok, a lovely bloke indeed x
  12. I’d like the look / shape of an alembic Stanley Clarke, but 32’ scale with the wal innards and sounds. That’ll do me just dandy x
  13. Played the marvellous festival at Wokingham last night, with the Phil Collins tribute , Second to last band slot which suited us i thought. Fantastic atmosphere and audience, very well organised do. Bit hectic changeovers but aren’t they always at this type of gig. Very enjoyable. We’ve played it before and apparently are already booked for 2026. The weather threatened to get really quite bad by thankfully held off generally. Great stuff indeed! X
  14. Yes, IF I use both then stacked all the times so far, though I will try them side by side at some point. Generally one is enough for petty loud pub gigs I find. The taste control I normally set about 10 ‘o clock. If it’s an out and out rock gig i sometimes use a shuttle 9.2 or my streamliner. . Was thinking of upgrading to an Eich but people say there isn’t much difference, so if it ain’t broke don’t fix it type thingy with me at the moment! Very pleased with my set up,it’s doing all i need it to do extremely well 😊
  15. I use a puma 900 with my 2x monza cabs, i doubt you’ll be disappointed! Enjoy my friend! 😊😊x
  16. USA musicman Sterling prehaps? Narrow and shallow necks. Lovely little things x 😊
  17. Used to run that same rig, very very nice, the puma’s are absolutely awesome little units, and of course the BT ain’t too shabby either! Enjoy 😊x
  18. I sold and posted an Alembic Clarke deluxe to a guy in Corsica.I originally stated in the for sale post that I WOULD NOT ship internationally and U.K. sale only. The Corsican guy obviously really wanted the bass so i reluctantly allowed myself to be persuaded to go ahead. No money had changed hands at this stage, just a gentlemans agreement if you like. I then was contacted by someone here in the U.K. who said he would have it. I must admit to being very very tempted but in the end i decided to honour the original request and sent it to Corsica. After a few very anxious days the bass arrived there via a brilliant FedEx service ahead of schedule. All turned out good in the end! Thank f*** x 🤣
  19. Hey Gary, thank you for making me feel so much better! I will never worry about my 15 being too many again, you should write a self help book for us bass heads x 😊
  20. Best bedroom/ practice amp you can get, drum machine, effects, tuner. What’s not to like. Good luck with the sale x
  21. Alembic Stanley Clarke deluxe, brought on eBay about 15 years ago for £2800, sold in 2020 for £5250 inc postage ( still think I sold it too cheap) but hey ho. status empathy 4 brought from bass direct for £850 I think, sold it for £450 which was way too cheap but wanted to get shot of it. Swings and roundabouts I guess 🤣x
  22. Hello there! Yes it is, please read my above comment. No postage abroad I’m afraid, but I’m driving up north tomorrow for work so could deliver or meet up as long as not too far off my route (M1)mainly. cheers, jeff
