Only with the ceramic pickups and poplar body and place of manufacture it's actually just a Squier rebadged at a higher price point. I would compare these to the Squier Affinty Series based on the ceramic pickups.

5 strings. Flat wide fretboard. 19mm bridge string spacing. Parallel frets.I don't do headless basses or white/clear pickguards.

Always had it in my head it was a record label and not a genre 🤔 A bit like Northern Soul is just a certain strain of soul music played in clubs up in the north of England.

I'll tag along for a reason for this also. I'm a dedicated 5 string player and many tuners don't pick up the low B. Currently getting success with the clip on Snark Super Tight and the Mooer baby tuner pedal. But others I've had have given problems.

I'm with you on the white pickguard thing. I generally don't like them on any bass. Don't start me on clear plastic ones 🙈

The one I tried was also black with the matching headstock.Had blocks but no binding. Shame it didn't work out for you.

As has been said before,they offer you a price you don't like,move on and don't go to Trustpilot just for that. To answer your question,yes I've had a similar experience with PMT and I simply took my bass back into the car and drove home. They don't really want to deal with 2nd items in my experience based on the lowballing I've witnessed personally. They currently have a used Squier Vintage Modified Jazz Bass V on their website advertised as a Classic Vibe 70s and I'd expect them to know the difference based on their size and history. Also they're selling a used Gibson EB5 bass for £1,800 which has confused me seeing as they were sub £1k basses when new and not massively sought after even then.

Ironically I tried a used one last week in Guitar Guitar Epsom that I nearly bought. An older Korean model but it was 11lbs plus!!! How old was your one and where was it made? Based on my personal experience the older Koreans beat USA Fenders.

Of all the "Stingray" clones I've tried the only one that actually sounded like one (to my ears) was my old Ibanez ATK305. Was pretty much a sonic carbon copy unlike other models with a bridge humbucker.

But seriously under 8Ibs (3.28kg) is really good 👍
