    Whilst I was in there I also tried a Fender American Deluxe Jazz Bass V from the post 2010 era in the rare transparent wine finish. Was a fine bass albeit strung with flats. Roundwound user here. Decent basses regardless if one ever pops up at a decent-ish price.

    For what it's worth I was in The Bass Gallery in London earlier and tried a used Anaconda Ultra J5. I was quite taken with the bass itself more so than the tonal voicing but the brand has definitely grabbed my attention still. Played effortlessly.

    That might not apply in all cases however. Some individuals just absorb information and new skills really fast. I do understand your reasoning though.

    Did that contribute to an inherently scooped sound with both pickups on full? The Cort Jeff Berlin Rithimic V I've noticed also has pickups in two separate postcodes and I've wondered the same.

    Oh that's not good. You sound like you have great tinkering skills. A passive Warwick even with active pickups is indeed a beautiful thing soundwise. I nearly bought one last year from Will at BassBros (Korean Pro Series I think it was) but it went fast. Do you think you'll eventually install the new preamp?
