lol I'm not sure if Warwick make the basic corvette active in swamp ash in a 5 or 6 string, I've only seen 4's.
http://www.thomann.de/gb/warwick_corvette_...ng_ebass_nb.htm like that you mean? Not fretless tho i'm afraid.
2. ^why would you WANT really thin strings tho? I love my big low b! Also i can play drop C on a bass with standard strings but it's really better to get some designed for low tunings, that's if you really don't want a 5 string. Trust me they're a lot less scary then they first seem. oh and i'm 16 and i have a very nice beard!
3. ^you can see why he wanted it a week now then, to sort out any problems like that.
4. ^they're a business, when they were making the ford model T they wanted to make a car with the least amount of bolts possible. Even 1 bolt on each car being taken out was great. Why? because the bolt itself might cost 10 cents but if they make 100,000 cars that means that they would save $10,000 just on one bolt if you see what i mean. If you spend £5 extra on a decent bit of wood and you make 1000 guitars in a day then that's a loss of £5000 a day! and most ppl who buy cheap guitars have no idea what "tone" even is so why should they loose that much money if they know it's not gonna make much difference to sales? However some companies have decided that it's a good business strategy to get better bits of wood on cheap guitars like yamaha, the idea being that more ppl will buy a high quality cheap guitar so they make more money. It all depends on what will make the most money.
5.
Hi guys As I thinking about this just recently I was wondering what would be expectedf me if I joined a Prog or instrumental rock band for the first time? What I mean by that is would I need to be able to read, play complex lines and different time signatures, playing abillty, good theroy, play an extended range on the bass (i.e. 5, 6 string), gear etc. Phil
That's Prog rock in a nutshell! seriously though i think you should maybe consider buying a 5 string, they're not difficult to get used to tbh, i've got really small hands and i can play one easily. Having said that though it would be cool to see sum1 who can be in a band like that with a 4. If you really don't want to get a 5 then i reccomend that u at least start buying heavier strings so you can tune down low. Rotosound make sets of 65-130s. u might want to check them out.
6. ^haha yeah that does happen, this guy said "hey do u wanna be in our band" and i was like "yeah alrite then" and he sent me 2 emails and then just stopped. Never heard from him again.
7. ^ oh you're just jeallous!
8.
my girlfriend would cut your hands off for it, she loves purple
i'm sure he'd rather loose his hands than this bass
9. it would be very sexy, were it DC
10. if it's just gonna be for home use how about: http://www.thomann.de/gb/harley_benton_hbb...akustikbass.htm or http://www.thomann.de/gb/ibanez_ewb205wne_nt.htm ?
11.
Very nice work, but needs more strings.
this man speaks the truth, 'e does.
12. ^sorry. Well at least i got some really good deals eh?
13. ^yes they are actually very good for such cheap money. You'd be surprised.
14. ^it's 'cos they're just really not as good quality or sound. as the actual EMG pickups
15. yes exactly it's a HAICH-ZED! A REAL emg would be nice.
16. ^i would only pay that if the price includes a real pickup
17.
Yeah, the bass was the ATK, and it came in the 100, 300, 400 and 500 series. There was also a 5 string, the 305. There may've been more models than I've stated, these are just the ones I know of. The original line was discontinued about 3 years back ( I think), however, Ibanez re-released the line this year. Supposedly the new basses are pretty much the same (ie. just as good) as the original basses.
yep u can get them in america.
18. oh right i was thinking "what the hell? the sun is supposed to do that!" then i realised you might have your left and right mixed up mate.
19.
hmmm all this talk of teenagers and with this post being in the bass PORN bit is quite dodgy
i remembered this silly joke when i was on holiday actually. "oh those ppl would be snogging- in FRANCE!!!"
20. i think it's dissed for 2 reasons: 1. it's a cheap wood so it's going to be used on cheap guitars. People might actually blame the wood for it sounding crap when it could actually be the pickups or their hearing (if they've not been playing for long/not played enough nice guitars) 2. i think the wood has certain tonal characteristics that aren't very nice on guitars so every1 who has a guitar made out of agathis will say that it sounds sh*t. However some frequencies that aren't very nice on the guitar can be actually quite good for the bass so i think that you shouldn't be discouraged from buying a bass with that wood.
21.
No, your fingers are not too small.
eddie agrees. You should definetly listen to this guy btw. He owns a jackson V I play a 5 string aswell and my fingers are the same size as yours (apart from my little fingers a bit bigger) btw so i really can't see how your fingers are a problem tbh. Oh and how long have you been playing, you won't be able to adopt thew "finger per fret" rule straight away. It took me a bit of time to do it on the guitar! So i reccomend you practice.
22. aww it's SOOOO CUTE!!!!! Also i think it might be a production instrument seeing as it has HZ pickups in it.
23.
I'm sure he's said that he plays brass. So what the fuss?
just thought it was a bit weird that it should be the first thing to come up on a search considering how many expensive basses there are in the world.
24. i just type in "expensive bass" on yahoo looking for myspace backgrounds and what should it come up with? now unless i'm higly mistaken that looks like overwater#1's very sexy custom bass (and apparently something he hasn't been telling us about) just thought it seemed a bit random is all...
