i hate the original t-bird design, i'm so glad they changed it round and the upper fret access looks terrible on those spector style basses. Having said that however i really do want to get a spector 5 string with a right way round body http://www.thomann.de/gb/spector_rex_5_bk.htm
My mockingbird. Not very comfy at the best of times, and the sound leaves a bit to be desired as well. Still, it looks cool!
oh yeah i have a similar shaped guitar and it's pretty annoying playing the lower notes sitting even on a 25.5" guitar, i can't imagine what it must be like on a bass! but yes toasted it DOES look cool as hell

almost every 4 string apart from fenders, i just feel so much more comfortable with a 5er
Or you could go for something like this:- http://www.basscentre.com/cat/product_info...roducts_id=1212 ?
f*** ME!!!! I WANT £900!!!! -
Correction: they get to show everyone else how environmentaly aware they are by flying with all of their gear from LA to london and THEN putting a concert on! I suppose at least all madonna needed was a tape so we can let her off BUT THAT'S NOT THE POINT!!! tbh i didn't really get a very good look at his pedalboard but maybe he's like Timmy c out of RATM/audioslave who uses 2 crybabys to get a really massive sweep. so he uses 2 overdrives to get an incredibly massive (or just plain muddy) sound.

^ AND TRY TO KEEP AS STILL AS POSSIBLE!!!

^and black hardware, and emg pups and ur about there.
An Epi EB-3 is 34" scale and has 2 pickups - 1 large humbucker (neck) and 1 mini humbucker (bridge). 3 way selector and vol/tone for each pup.
I meant the eb0, this is my first bass were talking about!
Dave Ellefson the ex Megadeth guy. John Taylor of Duran Duran was using them at the Diana gig.

The other is a BXP Cirrus which is arguably the best VFM bass out there. Having said that, if I was due on Jools in ten minutes I'd probably grab a Warwick
i have a Milenium BXP, the cirrus wannabie bass, having said that john compbell (i think that's what he's called) of LoG seems to prefer them- stange person! And i knew jonh taylor played them, he actually says on the peavey website that it was a 5 string he felt comfortable playing. It also says david ellefson i think.

Post your pedal board - Basschat style!!
EdwardHimself replied to dudewheresmybass's topic in Effects
here's mine: that's right- it's nonexistent! Might get an EBS microbass for recording/ distortion sometime tho. -
i was actually looking at the warwick alien but the idea of paying £800 for a bass with a laminated top just didn't do very well for me.
Obviously they are not as endemic as Precisions, Jazzs ,Rickenbackers etc but.... If you drive a BMW you notice other BMWs. If you drive a Mercedes, you notice other Mercedes. I see loads of bass players using Warwicks, but I notice them because that's what I play. You notice people playing what you play. What do you play?
i never see ne1 playing a peavey
It was my first bass and I do indeed like my cherry red mud generator
it was nearly my first bass actually but i thought to myself "well do i really want to blow all my money on a short scale bass with 1 pickup?" I wasn't saying it's a bad bass it's just you hear people say "i've heard nothing but good things about this bass" well it's pretty much the opposite with the SG bass
-
ok then ill be eddie with an ie and u can be eddy with a y. TO be fair dale stewart isn't exactly the most famous bassist ever but he does use a shecter bass (and a pretty damn sexy one at that, even if it does only have 4 strings)
-
it's just that were it me, it would be 3 basses and 15 strings. But hey i know 5 strings aren't everyone's cup of tea. (infact not most ppls )
You mean you dont want one of these? Andy
don't be silly that's not a transparent amp! it's a transparent speaker cab. -
well me and the boys would have certainly been up for the hard rock night (or just doing an acoustic session depending on whether the drummer is on holiday) but you guys are ow' daawn saaf geezas- awnt ya'? and i live up 'ere near 'ull maa' ya fukkin' dikked! oh well us northeners could have our own festival, anyone for walkiefest?
Cheers for looking Eddy
how did u know my name (apart from the obvoius) and how did u know i would look. But yeah the pleasure is mine whoever you are, just remember it's Eddie with an IE on the end next time Those are pretty nice basses apart from the lack of strings, the bottom 1 looks like something dale stewart would use.
+1 from me.... Jazzes are pretty common also there are a lot of variatons of Jazz so work out exactly what it is you want before your GAS gets to baddly rooted! Oh and they (jazzes) will always be available.....
haha that's what i keep saying to my m8 about les pauls.
-
^i thought a silly little thing called "the bridge" stopped you from being able to do that?
-
NO STOP IT!!! whenever i see a pic of a buggered up old s/b jazz with a tortoishell p/g, i think to myself "WHY DID I PAINT MY BASS DAYGLO GREEN!!!???"
-
Er yeh! That bit of string has done me proud service over the years being used to support such classics a '89 Stingray, '86 Stingray, 75 Fender P and the Sandberg. The acid test was a Aria SB1000 which weighed a ton! Could do with a decent hanger really. Ill get 'round to it one day
So what you're basically saying is you've had several very pricy basses over the years yet you couldh't afford a £10 wall hanger?

Well, i guess im gonna have to post em again then..

EdwardHimself replied to Beedster's topic in eBay - Weird and Wonderful
funny you guys should say that 'cos once i had a guitar and i actually FIXED the neck dive problem by moving the button from the neck pocket to the upper horn.
