Fender P/J-bass or Ibanez Prestige SR1005?
EdwardHimself replied to Faithless's topic in Bass Guitars
^ yeah i thought it might be shadowsky actually. Oh well these things happen.
Well, the string spacing - when I tried 5-string Godin, I thought that the spacing is too low, but, really, it's just a matter of time to attune to it. Thanks for your opinions
if you mean close then you should consider the fender jazz 5 string. Basically like someone glued an extension on a standard jazz neck so it could have a low b. Then they changed all the hardware, body and pickups for 5 strings. Very good also i think maybe u should look at the fender jazz 24, it's an extremly versitile bass and it has 24 frets! -
I used to have a jazz copy, the body is bigger then that of a jazz bass and it doesn't sound anything like a real one, but the sound it does have is quite nice.

:-O i don't understand- ur selling that, damn id love that henry 8X8 if you still have it by july tell me i might get it. Btw i'm liking the music on ur myspace, we have a singer/saxophonist and i have a double bass and it's a metal band
From the site: *restraining jazz tendencies*
Wow, i'm tempted to go upstairs now, take my bass apart, get rid of the crappy DAYGLO finish and relic it like that!
-
That's a nice recording set up you have there, esp. The apple computer. I have to make do with a load of microphones plugged into a few mic preamps, into a mixer then into a crappy little AMD Athalon AM2 64-bit computer with Crappy windows vista and a really crappy 10,000RPM harddrive Mounted on the actual rack itself!

Fender P/J-bass or Ibanez Prestige SR1005?
And they are JAZZ basses
Yes and a p-bass is a PRECISION bass. What's ur point? Besides Jason Newstead plays a lakland jazz copy (im surprised u didn't know that considering ur avatar...) -
No routing necessary
yeah ur probably right, it would look pretty damn good, proper abalone blocks on the fretboard tho! Why what did u do? Just stick some fretware on it? What is fretware?
He,s a lazy bugger! we have to carry him everywhere and he weighs a ton!!!!
sounds like one of our guitarrists Edit: PHREXYAN, that's what my room's gonna look like in the not to distant future Exept with blue carpet. and a fireplace.
ohhhhh myyyy godddddd i really want this but i cant afford it!!! ive actually decided i might purchase one in the future cus the loook an sound so nice =] al i can say dude is cheers for inspirin me =P an any infomation on a see thru scratch plate if u can get any? thanks cya an good look with the sale
http://www.wdmusic.co.uk/shop/products.php...mp;product=1520 there we go, bit on the expensive side but that's life, eh? If ur talking about the CONTROL plate tho, i'm pretty sure you would have to make one urself from clear p/g matereal, that usually costs about a tenner for about an A4 size sheet.

what a bloody dimwit, f***ing up a vintage fender like that!
-
i'm liking the look of the ibanez, what were u thinking of selling it for?
-
I defo would like to get one of them double bucks. I think that the space between the first pickup and the bridge is a really gd idea for me 'cos it would not only sound better, it would be better to play f/s, IMO.
-
i'm loving the shecter. That status is also very nice. If i was a guitarrist i'd defo buy a guitar version of that shecter so i could pretend i was shaun morgan all day
-
no i meant that i want a 5er. I am looking at spectors tho.
-
nice bass, shame about the lack of strings or else id be more tempted to get it.
-
Why does it say ur THREE main instruments when there's 4?
You've got to wonder about someone who describes the length of the whole instriment rather than the scale length... I've considered the Thomann 5 string acoustics for £130 odd, which seem a safer bet - they're 34" scale for a start. However, another bass/guitar in the house would most likely be frowned upon. :/ [edit for stupid typo]
http://www.thomann.de/gb/harley_benton_hbb...akustikbass.htm very sexy basses they are aswell, i would definetly buy ANOTHER bass or guitar for £150 Esp. from thomman, u can definetly trust thomman!
-
very, very sexy. Both of them. Must of cost a bomb to find such classic basses in such a nice condition, hell i couldn't even get a 70's bass without a few dents in it!
They come with dot inlays stock, I just added Fretware to mine haha!
well i did just spend £50 on a router...
This one has already been spotted and is another thread--- There is more likelyhood of me being ***gged sensless in a 3 girl fantasy involving Kylie, Gwen Stefani and Chrissie Aguilera orbiting the earth in my own space station with Monkies piloting it remotely from Madagasgar as that being made iin '66.........
you should be glad!

^only on some items tho
-
Ur singer could have at least made SOME effort to sing the high notes!
-
yes i reckon 18v electronics would be good, given that my other bass has it and i do love the insane low end and midrange punch i get from it aswell as just modding basses in general . Anyway thanks for that mate and if i do get it i'm gonna show all my mate's ur myspace page and go "I have the same bass as THAT guy...." Except with no block inlays I'm a bit sick of looking at bloody dot inlays all day, actually.
Thinking about it.. isn't a maple body a bit heavy?
it's pretty much the same as mahogany really.
This is cool advice guys never tht of mixing the bass to one side or the other.
No he means move the guitars and if ur using a drumkit, the overhead and tom mics from one side to the other. The other thing i will say is it could sound muddy because ur direct output might just be your bass signal so u can plug it into other amps and that. So i would reccomend either of 2 things here: 1. get a direct box (such as a sansamp bass driver) 2. get a mic and a soundcard, if ur going for the old-skool option. you could also buy a moddling interface such as line6 pod or guitarrig software but these are probably a bit expensive if you only want one sound.

how is a massive pic of a warwick, a musicman and a fender jazz NOT porn!?? Pure thecks!!!
