1. I remember you used to be able to get a similar thing from thomann at around the same price, if not a little more expensive. At the end of the day, you can send it back if it is really rubbish so as long as you're not expecting anything amazing then might as well give it a go.
2. Rockwool, how exciting!
3. It looks good. Honestly, I think all that bracing is possibly overkill really. I have built a 2x10 cab before and even without all that bracing it was extremely solid. Mind you, I did use 18 mm ply, but I just based that off what I measured from my old SWR cab. Heavy stuff. But yeah, looks good mate. Sure it won't be coming apart any time soon!
4.
There's an Elephant in the room, though not a very big one
5. lol. Frets.
6. 2 X humbuckers, one brdige, one neck and a single coil for sale. Pickups are in good condition with no oxidation on the polepieces and come with all required mounting hardware and screws. Looking for £10 each for the humbuckers and £5 for the single coil plus £1.50 for delivery. 7. Get yourself a decent playing bass, a bad bass is enough to put anyone off 6 strings for life. Apart from that, you've just got to give it a real chance, don't just give up at the first hurdle, you might need to train up your hand to stretch to all the strings at first.
8. How can some people be such idiots? Looking forwards to seeing it all back together.
9. I would say £50 sounds about right. Maybe try to squeeze him down for a couple of quid less.
10. I think my sister tried to audition for this show. I'm not sure she heard back though.
11. I think it is unacceptable for pro musicians to not use correct punctuation (sorry, just had to!)
12.
Wow pretty - never thought id like a peavey
Great basses. The active ones are even better.
13. 19 mm is pretty wide for a 5 string bass. A musicman has about 17.5 mm iirc but if you want something really narrow then go with something like a peavey.
14. Nice. Certainly looks very much like what you would expect from that era. What exactly do you mean when you say the mechanics?
15. Nice collection.
16.
i've built 6 other ones before this, this one should just be the end one i'm happy with
Yes, I am SURE that will happen
17.
Any updates on this tube amp
Give him a chance, lad. He's from yorkshire! probably just having a bit of a sit down for a brew before getting on with the rest of the build
18. Well I decided since the death of my old guitar to get some of the parts I had lying around and stick them in a new neck and body. I went on ebay for them, 2 seperate lots, seperate sellers, turns out they're off the same bloody guitar! Neck fits nicely. Yes, I know it is plywood but oh well that's life. I gave the neck pocket a bit of the "good news" with an angle grinder sanding attachment in order to give it that "sculpted" heel and right now the plan is to give it a refin. I'm thinking matte black
19. you've probably uploaded more data than you're allowed. You should use a pic hosting site like imageshack, or even facebook will do.
