1. Nice pair. Although I must say I can't stand triumph.
 2. Wow I wish that guy lived a bit nearer, he would be perfect. Although unfortunately we're doing a gig that is only 497 yds from the local primary. Oh well.
 3.
sounds like someone kicking a dustbin down a fire escape to me!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=htsj9tIvIcg
 4.
Thanks man. Stone room will have 19ft ceilings or so!
Fantastic. Sod that artificial reverb crap lol.
 5. It really depends on what you're doing. That sort of setup works really well for quiter acoustic type bands but is not really suited towards anything heavier. The issue is that even if it's not a full drumkit, you'll still need someone to play it. I don't think it would be any easier to find someone who's any good on that type of setup than on the conventional drumkit. If anything it would probably be harder.
 6.
not by Canal Street?
Nah, that's where this was recorded:
 7.
"I have been arrested"
Lol you get one phone call "best make it the band then!" that's what you call commitment!
 8.
On a Fodera? ... ... ... bwahahahahahhahaha, you crack me up you do...
What I meant was you can spend £1.50 on a new pot instead of spending loadsamoney on a fodera, if you're that bothered about it.
 9.
Er... isn't it about what the cabs sound like?
Us bassists are a shallow bunch, which explains why Barefaced cabs are not the best selling bass cabs of all time (assuming they really do sound as epic as everyone who's got one says they do) and why I don't have a picture of a highly intellegent but ugly person for my avatar (that was my last one, actually )
 10. I think it's the wood, the barefaced wood is a lot thinner than what you would normally see on a bass cab.
 11. Or you could just... y'know... wire in a master volume pot?
 12.
I really don't like the styling of Barefaced cabs, they leave me cold.
I know what you mean, I much prefer bass cabs to have carpet on lol.
 13.
Heavier than they look, great tone and they got 'proper man watts' inside
Not to mention Alex said to my friend that it would work well with the cab, so it must be good!
 14. It looks great. Shouldn't this be in build diaries though?
 15.
My friend where I'm from we have a saying 'Play for the win' I am doing this.
I know what you mean, only the best will do for me as well.
 16. Not mine, but my friend has just got himself a new rig: (the more observant of you might notice that I used to own the bass)
 17.
Ah, this makes a lot of sense, but also assumes a certain style of playing - i.e. having two separate tones set for each pickup and switching between the two. What I'm finding difficult to do on the SG is to use the volume as an overdrive gain control, gets a bit confusing with two volume controls and a few tone controls in the way!
I see what you mean, I guess it's one of those things. Maybe you could think about getting a volume pedal?
 18.
Is so cute your avatar's girl!
She certainly is a looker!
Funeral for a friend? It doesn't seems to be an happy gig
I said "great" not "happy" They're named after a song anyway lol.
 19. looking good mate. I'm not sure the shape does it for me but the wood is great.
 20. Welcome. My avatar picture is of an Italian in London lol. I can't say I'm a big expert on the "scene" down there. I only went to one gig in london, that was Funeral for a Friend at the Shepard's Bush Empire. Great night.
 21.
It's very good for a practice amp it's not the quality of my other cabs but then it's no where near the price.
That is what you call a practice amp!
 22. The neck pickup sounds better for clean tones whereas the bridge gives you a better distortion sound I find. It's good to be able to switch between the 2 and keep your volume settings for each pickup. I don't find it confusing at all, in fact I think it's easier that way. Having said that, I am not so keen on tone controls, I never really use them. The other advantage of this type of setup is you can have one pickup turned all the way down on the volume and you've got an instant killswitch
 23.
I just couldn't get on with the lower B. Going below E just sounded ugly and wrong. Of course for some music ugly is good .
Well that's your opinion. I happen to think it's rather beautiful myself. But that's just me.
Thanks for all your contributions, I'm thinking of finding a nicely playable cheap 5er and try it out. Tuning to BEAD wouldn't work, as I do a fair bit of work on the G string (oo-er) in several songs.
Good idea. Given that you appear to be of the peavey persuasion, I am reccomending that you try out a peavey Cirrus/millenium BXP. Nice players, and tonnes of low end.
 24.
I like very much. The bass sounds sick...
Thanks. Yeah, I was pretty pleased with the way the bass turned out. It was a guitar rig bass synth. Took a bit of tweaking, but got there in the end
Real good! I loved the drumming big time, not too flashy, but lots of little trills and fills to keep interesting! And keep the intro, I'm used to listening to Misericordiam...
I really wanted to make sure that I got the balance right with this song not just with the drums but with all the instruments. Keep it interesting, but not ott.
Good one! You should put a band together or something Truckstop
I'm hoping it may be on the cards sometime soon.

Thanks for that deep insight into my music bilbo
I liked it. A band doing this would easily get gigs and support slots round this way.
As I say, I would love to do a few gigs here and there and play some of my stuff. It would be pretty epic.
Edit - I thought the strings were a nice intro.
That wasn't the controversial bit lol
