2. Great. It doesn't get much better than a P bass with a J pickup in it really.
 3.
So Gallien-Krueger spend a few quid on the first opening page of this months BGM with the caption "I have the choice to use any amp I want.......I have tried them all and I use Gallien-krueger." shame he has gone to acoustic then! http://www.acousticbassusa.com/artists/artist-spotlight.html Not the best timing for that advert is it? Those acoustic amps look just like the old warm air heating units if anyone remembers them? 'Cred-aire'
Everyone is up to this planking business these days Seriously though, you are entirely right in saying that those acoustic amps look like some kind of industrial heaters. Not to mention they nicked the thing with the banner with the knobs on it off the eden website.
 4. I wouldn't mind so much the lack of pictures, it's just that you advertised that you've got "lovely big pics" on the thread title.
 5.
Ahh, right, I thought you might be implying you had posted with the with the wit of Jack Kerouac or something
Oh no, i don't even know who that is, let alone posses his calibre of wit
 6.
Sorry Edward jk?
JK- Just Kidding. Or some people think it means JoKing, same difference really.
 7. I'm sure as you're well aware you need to do some soldering to get the system in, in the first place. Otherwise it's great if you want to swap between EMG pickups.
 8. I know what you mean on the impedance issue. However, my amp goes down to 2 ohms so if i want i could get a 6x10 to give me 8 speakers in total or even an 8x10 to give me 10 speakers. Why i would want to do that i don't know. Just for a laugh i suppose. As people have said though, they are bloody heavy and that's probably the main reason resale values are so low- hence why neodymium speaker cabs have always commanded a higher price, even before the start of the "china issue".
 9.
Stop being disingenuous! Looking forward to hearing RD on the hifi tonight mate! Have a lovely long weekend.
Don't double post lol jk
 10.
Most pro bassists that I meet have been playing the same bass for years and have no interest in new gear and none of them are on this or any other forum - they're too busy playing that same old bass.
I think it's fair to say that the best bassists are probably so because they don't waste their time on forums talking about basses or gawping at pictures of basses on shopping websites.
 11.
I've realised that a lot of folk on here havent got a clue what they want/need,bass or amplification wise. The endless search for some kind of bass nirvana ? the holy grail of tone ? Theres more variation tone to be had in your fingers/hand position than in most basses eq's.
Well there is certainly different variations in tone to be had from the 2. And also most basses are passive so
 12.
I suppose they have to go somewhere lol
Shame they couldn't go to BEEERRRRCCCHHENHED.
 13.
...nevermind, I seem to recall my Eden Metro footswitch only worked properly on rare occasions.
It does seem to have a bit of a problem keeping on the red channel. I think it's down to the rather odd way it's wired up.
 14. Great. Quite a few from manchester on here
 15. Not so keen on single cut basses or the fishtail, but apart from that
 16. Sorry but i just don't like the fact that you can see the bridge pickup poking through there.
 17.
Here's my favorite bass-Dingwall Afterburner II
Wow, Dingwall, EA, Schroder and Bergantino. A bass geek's paradise lol.
 18.
Nah, did it on purpose to have a spare one right
having 2 2x10s certainly is very fun. Possibly a bit excessive for bedroom playing though
 19. Sounds good. Nice idea really. In terms of the recording, the drums could have been done with being in stereo and I think both the guitar and bass solos were a bit out of time in places, as were the riffs at the beginning. It sounded like you needed a couple of bars to "get into" doing the new riffs. Overall though, not too bad if you've not done much in the way of recording stuff before.
 20.
Oh, THAT's what it was.... I have been carrying around for a decade without knowing what it is for....
haha i suppose if you don't use any effects there isn't much need for switching between the channels. I like using the mute button though when switching between basses and suchlike.
Nope! Not quite the biggest idiot, I almost just spent £100+ on a bass cab to then realise (momentarily before commiting to buy) "wait....don't i need an amp head?"
Lol i bought the markbass last year about 2 months before i bought an amp head: I found a hifi and a mic preamp worked perfectly well as an amp head for a while
 21.
If we approached being a human in the same way as many of us approach music, a bland exercise in technicality, we would not get much attention at the party.
Lol that sounds like me.
 22. I know what you mean silddx boy. I've got a £150 peavey bass and a nice bass combo with an extension cab, it plays perfectly well and sounds great. It took me maybe about 2-3 minutes to set all the knobs and i've not touched it since. I could very easily play it in a band, no problem. I don't need a perfect bass. Doesn't stop me from wanting one though lol.
 23.
Of course there are plenty of other rare earth deposits outside of China, indeed they're restarting production in the US and South America... It was just that the Chinese did it cheaper and dirtier and we were happy with the price..
Hmm if that's the case then it sounds like they're shooting themselves in the foot with this one.
 24. Fantastic- they don't hang about when it comes to making basses do they?
 25. it's not a stopping of the REE exports is it? It's just a clampdown on the quota of REE exports. Anyway, just because something is rare earth does not nessicerally mean it has to be from china, that's just the problem with neodymium at the moment isn't it? I thought most valves were made in china anyway...
