1. hey mate i'm looking for a 5 string, i'll see what happens about my job and if so then maybe i'll have another look into this one thanks edd. I'll have to have it posted though if you don't mind?
 2.
theyre overpriced. chris from bass centre fitted a j pup on a p for me 18 months ago for 70 quid.
that sounds about right.
 3.
It's looking a bit 'Burns Bison' which I like Andy
I know what you mean. I'm going to have to probably re shape that lower horn so it's a bit farther way from the fretboard. Plus i do think it's a bit odd the way it seems to go.
 4. still got some shaping to do, but i decided to mount the hardware and the neck now well because i felt like it tbh.
 5. I hear a lot of people ask this. Really it seems a pretty silly idea because yes it is possible but it's going to look totally weird so yeah fine for a cheapo thing just to noodle around on but you can't buy a 5 string neck for less that £150 so really you're spending a lot of money on a bass that's not going to be worth much.
 6. hi guys i've cut the body out and done all the rough shaping and contouring, now it's just a case of smoothing things out to make them a little nicer: I'm still yet to cut out the electronics cavity though. Thanks for looking edd.
 7. Well i've got the body glued up now and so then i drew on a rough outline of the bass design on the body. i then routed out the front, i know what you're thinking "is he crazy?" well i figured it makes sticking the clamp on a lot easier so i can do a proper outline of what needs to be routed. I need to fill in a few bits and that so i really think a wood finish is probably out of the question tbh. Well that's it for now. Terrible i know but whatever.
 8. Just bought an AKG D550 mic off him, very prompt delivery, actually took me by complete surprise! Gent to deal with thanks.
 9. Nice, liked what i was hearing on the myspace. Conklin make beautiful basses. I'd love to own one someday, let alone be an endorsee! Pretty cool.
Cool! But whenever I see or hear the word I can't help but think of this
sounds like another w***er. Far too many of them in the upper echelons of society and government imo.
 10.
Thank you to that person! I'm pretty pleased with it, all apart from the opener (bit of a shame) which is a good song but our guitarist/frontman decided to make it a bit rough-edged and shouty ... and to play the bass himself on that track Best tracks are Drunk at the Wake (our punk Ennio Morricone tribute), Destiny, and No Security IMHO
ouch. Well i'll be giving it a listen definetly, it's certainly not the usual stuff i listen to but y'know i'll try anything once
 11.
Hi Sorry if this might appear patronising but I notice you say it is "nice and smooth" , but it has "marks" and you are going to paint over them. I assume you will progressively fine sand it before painting anyway? Any small imperfections that may not appear noticable on bare wood can show right up once it has paint/lacquer on it: I don't necessarily mean those marks which I'm sure will sand out but any other slight grain imperfections. I know all this from bitter personal experience and wish I had been a bit more diligent!
Yeah that is what i'm going to do, i'm thinking some of it might have stained into the wood but we'll see.
Could you not use a filler primer. That will fill any minor holes scratches and grain and a simple sand to finish will be all that is required
I'm planning on doing that actually. The problem with leaving it as is though is that the join line between the 2 pieces of the wood isn't perfect to be honest, it's not a huge descrepency but you can see it. Well i might have a look at it once i've done the primer/grain filler and depending on whether i'm satisfied with how it looks i'll either leave it or stick a solid paint finish above it.
 12. Even better than that, Someone off BC has bought it! Hope it's decent.
 13.
Why bother when you can get a 'proper' used Stingray for the same money ?
+1
 14.
HAHA cheers for that. So, a light 5 string set on a 4 string bass in C standard would be fine dya think?
EddieHimself reckons so. It's only half a step above standard. If it's a light set then it should be fine, even a medium would probably do although maybe a bit too heavy for C tuning. The only thing is to adjust the truss rod properly and job should be a goodun. As for the nut, even if it does have a problem then it's pretty easy to replace.
 15.
I got me one of dem!!! Super basses! Mines just like yours - will be using it with Mike Berry and The Outlaws in a couple of weeks time.
I'd be surprised if you didn't have one of something!
 16.
Before posting a reply, go have a look at what iLok do and offer. I am sure you will understand the situation with a little reading.
Okay so you can hold your licences on a usb key. I really don't get it i mean i'm sure it's nothing that any half decent software maker couldn't have done themselves if their customers were so bothered about it. And to have ilok only sounds just silly to me because i, for one, am perfectly happy to have one license on one machine as that's all i use mine on. Surely i should have a choice as to whether i have some USB stick constantly poking out of my PC just so i can use some software? And really i'm sure line6 must be benefiting from it somehow. "get this for free! all you have to do is sign up to X service/buy X good instead." Sound familiar? And lets face it, it's going to limit the number of people who download a $99 bit of software for free which can only be a good thing for line6.
 17.
Most audio work stations these days come with an iLok and more than half of the pro audio worlds plug ins and instruments are also iLok only so, if you are serious, its a good investment. Otherwise dont complain that a pro audio company are giving you a free piece of software and you dont have the equipment to run it. G
Well i really don't see the point other than some enterprising company who've found a new way to make us pay for something that should be free.
 18. Might as well just buy a set of 30. One of them will fit.
 19. beautiful bass, wish i had £775 'cos i need a 5 string.
 20.
Yeah I think the TV was basically a Junior but without the cherry finish, (too reflective for TV studios or something like that, hence the name). SG, LP, LPSG, I'm not too fussy, I'd have either, preferably all....
I heard it was that the bright finish would show up better on black and white tv sets.
 21.
get the bucket ready http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/New-Gibson-re-issue-...id=p3286.c0.m14
even better, it's satin! That's the closest looking finish to sick i think i've seen on a guitar. And i normally love satin finishes.
 22.
i'd like an SGZ, they're gorgeous, stupidly rare though. only pic i could find on google:
might as well just get an ESP viper bass. SoW maybe a bit more metal then you were looking for but i like it anyway.
 23.
You can get an iLok for £25 these days. And the account is free. Still not a bad deal for $99 software! G
cba for a license for 1 bit of software, no thanks i'll just stick to micing my guitar and bass amps tyvm.
 24. I knew it was probably too good to be true. You have to spend 40 bucks on a f***ing I lock dongle before you can f***ing download it. How ridiculous.
