1. I don't think there's really much you can't get here, it's just that stuff in the US seems a lot cheaper than here.
2.
The headstock lets those AV's down for me, love the look from there down. I might be able to get one for review actually..
yeah, it's the same headstock as the encore basses as they're made by the same company.
3. I used to have the vintage ES-335 copy guitar guitar. Not a bass though sorry.
4. Really guitar distortion pedals have a problem of getting rid of all the low end of the bass. the MT-2 I hear isn't really an amazing pedal anyway. Might as well give it a go though i guess, what's the worst that could happen eh?
5. Hi guys my stuido isn't that amazing: slightly updated bottom bit yeah. still very much a "work in progress" can't decide what sort of thing i'm gonna get for me birthday. Maybe a nice preamp or something? dunno.
6. Nice little setup you got going on there mate.
7. Real nice bass. I was thinking of getting a similar affair myself actually. Love the smoked chrome looking hardware but it does rub off a bit i have found which is rather irritating.
8. wow how stupid. There is no border patrols between most eu countries because of the EU and that. They really ought to think before they start spouting hate.
9.
I posted this a good while ago, but suffice to say I have so sussed out how to record with my Mac and this bass can be heard in action here! Thanks for the advice though man.
haha i couldn't hear the bass on this laptop but i'll give it a listen to it on my PC 2moz. Real nice bass, the tuners look a bit weird on the back imo but i guess it's worth it for the balance and that.
10. Wow forty grand, you could get a nice sports car for that. Makes you think, i suppose. I doubt they'll get that sort of money, i'm thinking of offering him like £50 or something lol. Seriously i think he could get a bit more than the offers he got for it but defo not 40 grand.
11. I would probably avoid the G4M one, it doesn't look as if it's that much better than the other 2, and it's like £250 more.
12. Well my "rig" cost £450 and when my mate guy plays through it, you can even hear it when i'm playing the drums!!! Sounds pretty decent too.
13.
The local priest? How did they take him seriously when he believes in mythical beings who live in the sky and know your thoughts and if you think bad thoughts you'll be burned in a big fire by some bloke with a pitchfork and horns on his head? If you ask me, the priest is the one who has been taking the drugs.
haha rather amusing. I was going to put this in my signature but for some reason firefox seems to have a problem copying things suddenly. Maybe it's because i've sinned against god? "GOD LOVES INTERNET EXPLORER" Anyway if you want my opinion on this, i reckon it's just more media bull.
14. Where are these "pickup and tuners" of which you speak?
15.
I never resist the opportunity to stick the boot into Andrew John Preston of Andy's Guitars. His address at Denmark Street had various business names all of which had CCJ's against them. He'd just create a new business name and leave the debts. This is a matter of public record, check it out via Companies House. He is also a liar, thief, and scum. This is a matter of public record too, because I filled papers with the High Court stating as much (although in the correct legal language).
I hate to sound like some sort of newspaper reader, but why should people just be allowed to do that?
16. generally i find that the guitars and basses that are most likely to have dual action truss rods are quite "metal" or modern looking, since it's a traditional style bass i doubt it does. You should know anyway because dual action truss rods usually turn anti-clockwise to tighten them up, which is the reverse of normal. I actually sent a guitar back to the person i bought it from once because i turned it clockwise like normal when i stuck some heavy strings on it and it started to bow like crazy. Then they sent me it back and i just had to turn it the other way. Slightly embarrasing i must say.
17.
Don't believe the hype. Most of them just think they are tough in the same way that black metal bands think they are in league with the devil.
Some of them are pretty ard. Like 50 cent was apparently shot 9 times in one night and survived. Ouch.
18. There's a big music shop on a couple of floors in what used to be some sort of bank. I think it's near GAP or something?
19.
Perhaps the answer is to wire the gtrs and basses up so they can't actually be played or even picked up without being unlocked. And keep the kettle leads for the synths etc. behind the counter.
It's funny you should say that actually because at the big music shop in hull this is what they do with all their guitars and basses. You have to ask them then they'll get a key and disactivate the alarm systeme, and take off whatever guitar you might want a go on. I've always found them very helpful.
20. IMO every band really HAS to have a "brick wall" shot, no matter how cheesy it is lol. I'm gonna say either funk or rock/metal based on the camo shorts you're wearing in the 1st one lol.
21. I definetly agree with going used. I got myself a REAL SWR amp + 4x10" cab from 1987 for £250! So imagine what you could get for £389, something better probably lol.
