1. For sale is a fantastic bass practice combo amp. Orange Crush 20b in great condition apart from small nick (see pic) it’s fully functional and with good output volume, more than you would expect from its size. Orange make great products and being analogue less chance of any failure compared to digital equivalents. You can’t go wrong with this practice combo. And a bargain price. Can Post (extra at cost), or can be Collected from Bristol, Or i can also deliver reasonable distance.
2. Forgot to say they are Compact and light (11.85kg each) for ease of transportation, you could carry one in each hand and not break your back or break into a sweat. Roqsolid are making me some covers, so they will have the dimensions for other purchasers also.
3. If you want simplicity and non digital, then I would also suggest the latest orange crush series, they do the 25w 8” speaker, 50w 12” speaker and the 100w 15” Speaker. All are analogue apart from a digital chromatic tuner that can tune up to 6 string basses and the tone playing clean is full, warm and good bottom end. It has a gain that can be blended to combine clean tone of bass along with the gain so you get that nice warm sizzle akin to a valve amp. Also has headphone socket and seperate aux in. I have an ob1-500 so I bought the 100w Crush as the Crush blend and gain works similar way to the ob1, so I can practice and use similar voicing to what I gig, plus the 100w version is also loud enough for band rehearsals. Plenty of YouTube reviews.
4. I have two of the cabs that are paired with an orange OB1-500 head and they are wonderful cabs, they project well and sound sweet. When I get time I’ll write a review, but I would recommend them highly.
5. Toots and the Maytals at the O2 Bristol on weds night. Support band were good but Toots was great, was a memorable night.

15. A great bass up for sale. Sounds and plays amazingly considering it's RRP. It holds it’s own up against most Mexican Fender basses and high end guitars. It's in amazing condition. I've never gigged with it. I bought it for home use and I replaced the stock pickups with a hand-wound set from Montys Guitars in London. If you've not heard of their pickups, they are legit. He makes pickups for the likes of Radiohead, Pete Townsend, Mark Knopfler etc. They sound amazing. I've also put On a brand new set of NYXL roundwound strings on it. Grab yourself a lovely bass for not a lot of money. Collection from Bristol or happy to post at additional cost. 21.
Just my two peneth: I've bought the Korg Pitchclip, TC Polytune clip and the Planet Waves nano. For me the best of the 3 is the Korg. The TC works great on guitar but the poly tuning is redundant on bass and it struggles to track my E string let alone a low B. The Nano I found too small and the proof of that is that I managed to loose it - worked well until then though. So given that the Korg tracks all my bass (4 and 5 strings) no problem and is considerably cheaper than the TC it gets my vote.
You say your tc tracks guitar but not bass, hope you don't mind me asking, do you remember to switch it to bass mode when tuning on bass? Only reason I ask is I had terrible problems trying to tune my bass with the tc until I read there was a guitar mode and bass mode on them, when I checked I was trying to tune bass in guitar mode. Once I switched to bass mode problem solved.
22. Having recently been made unemployed, I was looking for a cheap small practice combo. Davie contacted me and gave me an Ashdown practice combo. It arrived today and is exactly what I need. Davie is a top top genuine man, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him and would help him out in the future if ever the need arose.
23. I've been playing for many years and would say I'm an average self taught player. I have only ever played in originals bands, some signed some not. Apart from playing in an iggy and the stooges tribute band for a couple of years about a decade ago. Here is my problem, I haven't played with a band since I did a tour last April. My playing style is mainly plectrum and finger. I am struggling in the area to find another originals band, which may be partly down to age and also lack of originals bands in Northamptonshire. I started recently to advertise on join my band and have had a number of covers/functions bands approach me but every time I get set list I struggle with some tracks so end up doubting my ability and bottle it. It's getting me right down. I've agreed with one band to rehearse next Monday they gave me set list and said pick some tracks and let us know which ones in advance. I am already in my head worrying, which is mad because I've been playing for so many years. Has this affected any of you fellow bassists and how have you over come it? When playing a cover to you play note for note accuracy or your take of the song? Any tips or advice welcome and appreciated.
