  1. Sorry, you believe that spending 3800$ on a Custom Shop Fender is foolish? Uh .. this is weird .. it’s like saying that the guys who invented the stuff that AC is somehow copying are no longer able to do something decent; frankly speaking, I believe your statement is quite exaggerated. Moreover, I’m not saying that AC instruments are bad; what I’m saying is: 1. They do not seem to me an original design at all. 2. They are overpriced for what they are able to yield. These are my opinions, of course, but analysing just the facts without any other scope in mind (typical of fanboy-ism), may surely help to understand why I am of this opinion. Having said that, everyone is free to invest his/her money in the way they prefer.
  2. I haven’t played an AC as to do this you basically have to order one and pay it in full unless you aren’t able to pay a visit to Mr. Coppolo in the US (for a bass? If, by chance, I had to go to the US for business ok, otherwise ... nahhh) or be friend with somebody who owns one. So buying an AC, in my situation, would likely be a matter of faith; my faith only goes to my beloved wife, the rest is relative so much so as I was just recently reading of Addison, the famous TB user who had an argument with Mr. Coppolo, and finally got his money back; the answer of this high-calibre luthier to Addison was awful, for not to use other words. I have maximum respect for manufacturers such as Ken Smith, Fodera, Roscoe, Pedulla (sigh!), F-Bass, MTD and my favourite, Elrick. They really design and make high-end stuff which is priced accordingly. AC no; AC makes FSO = Fender Shaped Objects, which normally use woods which are similar to those used by Fender and the same goes for the finishing options. However, AC’s FSO do cost 5000 if not more USD; ok, the proprietary electronics and pickups are very nice, fine, the factory setup is excellent but to fill the 3000 USD gap between a MIA Fender and an AC bass the extra features of the AC units seem just too few to me. I personally prefer going passive and buy a Custom Shop Fender also because I don’t like the AC headstock, but this is just me.
  3. They haven’t designed anything as they are copies of Fender basses with an ugly headstock. The electronics package is solid but there are many such solid pickup/preamp combos available on today’s market .. so why the hype?
  4. It seems that only the bass’ name there talks about 1972, all the rest is representative of a post 1974 jazz bass, including the bullet truss-rod at the headstock .. who has decided the bass’ name and specifications has just used the wrong name for, for the rest, a very beautiful and tidy instrument .. had I only had the money ... 👍
  5. ‘72 with a three-bolt neck-plate assembly?
  6. You have got a very nice piece of P-bass on sale here, GLWTS !
  7. LaBella with red silk? However they seem to be flatwound strings listening to them. Do you know which brand of pickup Limelight uses? The bass sounds fantastic and your playing was very confident and groovy 👍
  8. Which strings did you put on the bass? TI flats?
  9. Superb photographic set for a great vintage bass at a reasonable price. GLWTS 👍
  10. Ok, thanks .. I believe the F-bass is a killer PJ ! 👍

  12. Interested in a one-to-one swap with an 2016 American Elite P-bass in natural ash finish?
  13. I’ve sent you some pics .. I hope you received them as I don’t understand the system here very well; let me know and let me also know if you need some other detail or information
  14. Got an immaculate USA Elite P-bass in natural ash plus OHSC. I can ship to UK of you can ship yours to Italy. I can send you the relevant pictures if you are interested.
  15. Hi. Will you evaluate the possibility of partial trades and shipping outside of UK (Italy)? I’ve got a luthier made bass, Biarnel model Iter 4 that I’d like to sell because it’s a bass yielding a very fine, modern sound, whereas I’m now firmly oriented towards vintage-voiced instrument’s. The bass is four-strings, bolt-on instrument with proprietary active pickups and tone controls; alder body, padouk top, ebony (very dense and silky) fretboard and multi-laminate neck; neck is very fast and the sound is super clean. This is a link to the manufacturer’s site: www.biarnel.com If interested is may send you pictures of the instrument in private. Regards.
  16. P-basses were borne with a P-pickup only; a J-neck can be suitable for some folks and not for some other; for me it’s not a problem and this bass is GORGEOUS. Lucky the guy with the required dough to buy it.
  17. Thanks! This model has got a set neck, isn't it?
  18. Hi. May you post pictures of the bass’ back?
  19. Hootenanny strap ring on back of headstock is missing 😁
  20. Hi. Do you still have the original pickguard?
  21. Selling a parts bass which I assembled with new components directly purchased in the USA at the STRATosphere online parts shop. Parts are as follows: 1. Fully loaded American Professional P-bass body in 3TS with 3-ply mint pickguard. 2. Fully loaded American Standard J-bass neck with striped rosewood fingerboard. Frets are in almost new condition. There are no defects nor scratches on both the bass’ body and neck. The bass is currently strung with D‘Addario 45-105 tapewound strings. The bass will be shipped in a non-original hard-shell case placed inside a robust cardboard box. The proposed price does not include shipping, which costs shall be separately assessed on a case-by-case basis. Payment via direct bank transfer.
