  1. As promised, here it is. it’s far from perfect but I think it’s going to work. the guy who printed the cover added a little twist in the design and now is looking a little different than my original project. I’ll post some updates when I fit it in my bass
  2. Hello guys, I have an amazing Yamaha TRB5P but don't like a bit the electronics. Changed the preamp and fitted a Sadowsky 4 Knob, sound killer! Some time a go, I bought a set o MAMA pickups (they make them specifically for this bass). The P pickup sounds good, a bit too compressed for my taste but sounds good. The problem was always the bridge pickup. Hums like hell, thin sound and low output. Not really happy here... So, since I have a Nordstrand NJ5S sitting at home, I decided to solve the problem by building a pickup cover using the 3D printer and Tinkercad to design it. It's the first time that I use this kind of software and it's possible that everything isn't perfect but so far, is looking good. Honestly, I never post anything about my workl but I decided to post this project because I really hope that this 3D model solve someone's problem as it did for me. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5365871 As soon as I get this thing printed, I'll update the post with some pictures

  4. Hello! Neck pocket dimensions and wood type?
  5. I had a B3 and i found that bottom end horrible. The solution for the problem was using a Boss GEB7 after the B3 to correct the "exagerated" freqs... I hope it helps

  15. Hello. Are you interested in a TecAmp Puma 1000? Best regards
  16. The quality is really something. This bass was made before Clover changed their company from a small business to a huge brand, I don't know if the quality standarts remained the same (I hope so) and I never played one "new Clover" but I can tell that this one of the best basses I played so far. The only thing I don't really understand is the preamp but hey, nobody's perfect.
  17. Hi! Today I bought this beautiful bass and it is a dream! Nice touch from the luthiers of Clover. I think it was made in 1994, carbon fiber neck, bartolini pickups and preamp (BTW the preamp is a TCT 3 band with active/passive switch), matching headstock and a nice bridge Status like. Overall, this huge bass (36" it's pretty large for me) has a fantastic sound and construction. Pros: - beautiful flamed maple on the body - the pickups are awesome - very confortable to play (the neck doesn't dive and for me that's a must) Cons: - it's a bit heavy (4,8 Kg) - 36" scale (for me it's a challenge because I have to learn how to play this thing but still, I'm very happy) - the preamp is boost only and there is a big diference of volume when you switch to passive (in passive mode the volume increases a lot) I just wanted to share my happiness. If you have any questions or suggestions be my guest. Cheers
  18. Thanks for the reply FlatEric. I know that these basses are pretty rare. But I think that I will change the preamp anyway. The OBP3 is one thing that can get out and install it on other bass in half an hour besides I want to take pictures and keep all the original parts for reassembly in the future. I found this wiring on Seymour Duncan website and Now I understand how the wiring of the active pickups is done. http://www.seymourduncan.com/support/wiring-diagrams/schematics.php?schematic=active_soapbar The only thing I can't understand is if it's possible to use one battery for all (PU's and preamp).
  19. thanks for the reply! The bass is definitely passive but the pickups not and that's why there is a battery compartment on the back. The sound is amazing and the pickups are great but the controls are like the concentric pots on a Jazz Bass 62 RI. I've been reading some reviews and tutorials and for EMG is possible to run a preamp and pickups with only one battery. In my case the wiring of the active pickups confuses me...
  20. Oops... I think I posted this topic in the wrong section. Anyone got any idea?
