  1. I was lined up to see them when the first Lockdown happened, then I was gigging when they were playing locally, a few months ago!! Third time lucky!!
  2. Sugar Sugar Wilson Pickett and . . . . We Can Work It Out Stevie Wonder
  3. I've been using NYXL's since around 2017. I wouldn't put them on my P bass but they sound great on the Jazz.
  4. Find a new singer. this one is a liability and will never be anything else.
  5. D'Addario NYXL's. Keep the zing for the longest time.
  6. All bass manufacturers, add a small anti gravity device to all basses. One that can lift about 8lbs.
  7. The Metro is the long running Japanese made Sadowsky model. The Japanese Metroline was a short lived attempt to make Sadowsky basses on a factory production line. That didn't seem to go too well and variable manufacturing quality seemed to be an issue. I don't think many were made. Then the Metro's were discontinued and the deal with Warwick was announced. So I think you are probably asking about the Metro basses rather than the Japanese Metrolines. I've been playing a Metro Jazz RV5 for nearly 8 years and it's a good one. I've been trying to replace it with a lighter bass, but haven't found one that sounds or feels as good. Roger Sadowsky said that the Metros were the same quality as his US made NYC basses. They had the same hardware, pickups, preamps etc, but just didn't have the chambering or customization options. A few years ago I played a chambered NYC bass (sadly with neck dive) but felt my Metro sounded and played better. I haven't played a Warwick made Metroline.
  8. You can list as many extremes as you like. In my experience, with "good players" these situations don't occur. If you're not using "good players" then all bets are off. I'm not talking in general terms, but specifically saying you'll get a good band if you hire good players who know what they are doing.
  9. If the musicians are good players and know what they are doing, then a scratch band is no worse than any other band and will be better than many.
  10. Maybe think about retiring when the phone stops ringing. Up to that point, rock on.
  11. It's a hybrid resonator. Previously discussed here. . . .
  12. I've heard that a few bands and duo's on the local circuit are getting cancelled at short notice because of low ticket sales.
  13. I had 2 mins. I'm still waiting for the rest of the 15 mins!
  14. That was probably a promoter cashing in on the name. When John McVie wouldn't leave John Mayall, Peter Green decided to put an ad in Melody Maker, which I answered. I believe I was the first person to audition. I was 17, still at school and wasn't half as good as I thought I was! Peter Green's mum would have played better than I did that day. Bob Brunning got the gig on the understanding that McVie would replace him if he ever changed his mind, which he did 3 months later.
  15. He was. Unfortunately he was also a massive PIA, which will probably be remembered for as long as the good stuff.
  16. All the material wasn't written by the new members. Christine McVie was also writing songs. They joined an existing band so they kept the name. Sounds pretty logical to me. Then, before there could be any "take over" they had a massive hit album and the name was fixed forever.
  17. Peter Green didn't want to be the focus of attention in the band. It wasn't his intention to front a band . He just wanted to be in a band, so he called it after his two mates in the rhythm section. That's also why he got Danny Kirwan in, to take some of the spotlight.
  18. @jimmyb625 is right, because of the lockdowns many people found new interests and abandoned the old ones. At the moment I'm just happy to be working. I'm on for about 80 gigs this year. Who knows what next year will bring. More of the same would be a good result.
  19. My TH500 is something like 10 years old and it's never missed a beat. My AG700 is around 6 years old and never a problem.
