Anyone point to a good supplier for a Dano 63 shortscale adjustable bridge replacement - ideally no new holes required for swapping it in?

Three here in constant rotation - Dano 63 Redburst, Japanese Mustang 1998 Red Competition Stripes, Gretsch Jet with the single humbucker… love ‘em all… I’m sure my Pbass is sitting in the corner mumbling “play play, play me, please…😂 -

Anyone using Fender flats (9050 45-100) on Mustang strung through body? Do they fit or do the silks sit on the nut? I know there are many other options - but they’re all 50-60£ a set. The Fender strings seem to be closer to the 40£ mark. -

Ok - will give that try. How do I know when it’s fully loosened? -
Truss Rod Adjustments Not Working
Fuzzbass2000 replied to Fuzzbass2000's topic in Repairs and Technical
Ta - to answer both Dano '62 Shortscale fitted with D'Addario ECB81S Chromes Stored with strings on at pitch. Pretty sure it's a lefty loosey truss rod which i've adjusted in both directions before. Usually to remove relief so it's kind of ironic I can't get more relief. -
Bass has been in storage for a few months. Retrieved it recently to find the neck seemed to have flattened / had no relief resulting in a lot of buzzing around the low frets. Loosened the truss rod a 1/4 turn to get some relief, but the problem returned a day or two later. Tried another quarter turn and the problem has returned. Anyone tell me what’s occurred? cheers

They do seem rare as. To be honest my guitar sized Mono has served me well on many a trip - and it has once (involuntarily, mind) been in and out of the the hold. But that's not something I'd willingly repeat.
-
That's super kind - i suspect the fuel on the two return journeys would probably buy me most of one. Dagnabbit!

That's a flight case for an airplane hold? Not being sniffy - just doesn't quite look how I'd expect it.

Long... and slightly cheeky... shot - need a flight case for a mustang bass for a couple of EU shows in July. I don't want to buy one as normally the bass comes onto the plane with me, but this time due to flight costs it can't. Anyone point me to somewhere I can rent one - or borrow one from a localish Bass-chatter? I'm Epsom / Surrey but can drive to pick it up - and happy to pay something reasonable for its use - and leave something as collateral for its return. *thank you AP 😉

The video clip looks like there's bunch more knobs and switches... maybe it's just odd reflections

Watching the ecellent Creedence doc on Netflix, Stu Cook's bass caught my eye... one or two extra bells and whistles eh! Anyone know what's going on here?

I've lost this gadget. Not the greatest sounding bit of kit in the world, but perfect for brushing up new songs in whilst on the road. I see there's a Mk 2 - plus some other manufacturers Can anyone give opinions on / recommend a replacement?

Love my Guitar sized Mono. Sturdy... maybe a bit prcey these days... and survived 2 unplanned airplane hold immersions. Normally it goes in the overheads as it just meets some airline criteria - or failing that, a second seat. -
Long time player - recently had to put a fresh set of Chromes on one of my shorties after the last set finally gave up the ghost. Struggling with blistering on my right hand index finger damaging my finger tip. (I am right handed) My technique hasn’t changed, and I do tend to dig in a fair bit, but I’ve never had this much trouble. They certainly don’t feel like the last set and whilst they’re relatively new, Ive done 20-25 shows with them and they should start to feel a bit broken in by now. Did they change the formula? Also any tips on anything I can do to sort this out?

Daddario Chromes Alternative Recommendations
Fuzzbass2000 replied to Fuzzbass2000's topic in Accessories and Misc
You’re right - it was a while ago. 2017 on Amazon for £26, and for sure I’ve had really good use from them. But in 5 years they’ve nearly doubled in price whilst rounds bought at that time (Fender 7250m) have increased by £1-2. But I think you’re advice to go with what I know is good advice… Hey ho! -

This has been with me on hundreds of shows across Europe. £140 on Ebay 10ish years ago. I’ve had other copies since, but something about the neck on this one made it special. -
Daddario Chromes Alternative Recommendations

Cheers - Will check that out. Still seems crazy high though. -
Need to replace a busted set of Daddario Chromes (100 - 45). Last time i bought a set they were around 26£, but checking around it looks like they’ve got to £45-50… which is freaking absurd. Anyone got any suggestions? It’s for a short scale Dano ‘62, so it needs to fit through the guitar tuners that these are fitted with.
-
Interesting - just how snug is it?
-
Any recommendations for a suitable flight case? My go to was a Mono stored in the overhead on Easyjet, but it seems that option has no been removed. It's odd how Fender don't seem to make an SKB style case for Mustang basses, considering how many Mustangs they have in the range.

Roundwound strings for a Mustang Bass- Suggestions
Fuzzbass2000 replied to Old Horse Murphy's topic in Bass Guitars
I use bog standard Fender 7250M's on my through body Mustang- I guess you could use 7250ML's if you wanted a slightly lighter guage. They don't have any cloth windings so there's no issues at the bridge or the headstock end - plus they're relatively cheap and easy to find. -
Taking a PayPal payment for an item to be collected...

Take cash if they're collecting. Then all you have to do is count it, wash your hands and if you are concerned, leave it alone for a few days - whatever the shelf life of the virus is on paper / plastic money. And if you don't want to be holding it at home , bank it. They'll still be accepting cash for long time to come.
