1. Unbolted the neck and shipped one in a solid but smaller box to France recently - arrived intact and was up and running in no time at all apparently. It's 4 bolts plus a bit of sticky tape on the bridge to stop it flapping about.
2.
Hi - any information on neck profile? Width at nut and depth front to back would be interesting, or comparison with other types out there (Jazz, P, Starfire, Hofner etc). Thanks
I received this from Stephen at Chowny recently. Length 1140mm Width 420mm Nut width 40mm 12th fret 52mm Cheers
3.
Just a quick update if I may.
Would you be able to post the physical dimensions - max body width, overall length, also the nut and 12th fret width (I may have missed this somewhere in the thread)? Cheers
4. On hold
5. Thanks guys - I'll give some of these a try.
6.
ipostparcels have always given me a reliable service. Good tracking & fantastic prices.
Hi - how are you shipping basses with these guys? I can't find an option big enough for a bass.
7. Yikes.... didn't mean to un-can the worms....
8. Hi - i used to use Citylink to ship guitars around the UK. never had a problem with them, but they're no longer around. Who are people using... cost effective, trustworthy, decent on-line interface... to ship courier sold guitars these days? Cheers
9. Price drop bump
10. I don't have a Longhorn so not able to compare - as far as I know the pickups are pretty much the same lipstick pickups they use on all the re-issues and the construction is the usual Danelectro hollow masonite back and front so I can't imagine that it sounds a lot different. I think they sound great and play great - i've a couple, but need to move this one on to make room for a Hofner shortscale. Pretty sure this is made in China (at work so can't check the label on the neck). Whilst they made long scalers in Black and Aqua Blue, if you're after a shortscale Dano '63, I think redburst is your only option. Really cool bass... gets compliments whenever I play one.
11. Aguilar Agro pedal in very good condition. Boxed with instructions £115 shipped (UK)
12. Danelectro Redburst Shortscale Bass '63 Now Sold
13.
I've got a Dano 63 which I really quite like,
These are fun to play and easy to set up if you can find one second hand. Also take a look at Hofners if you fancy something with Humbuckers. Violin bass for that Beatles look or Club basses if you want something that looks a little like a Les Paul.
14. It's a great source of information and discussion Personally I find Basschat quite a bit friendlier though... sometimes the threads on TB can veer off into unexpected (and interesting) directions.
15. Any idea of the neck dimensions these like? Nut, 12th and profile (round like a "C" or flattened like a "D"). Also do you have the overall length of the bass from bottom to top (not the scale length). Thanks
16.
Short scale, so loads of fun flying around the super fast neck and, because of the design, it doesn't feel cramped, with the nut sitting only marginally closer to you than on a standard bass. It's hopefully self-evident that this bass isn't going to be one for slap fans out there, but if the tone in your head is "epic 70s rock massive" then here's your bass.
Howdy - what do you mean when you say the nut is only marginally closer than on a standard scale bass? Would you say the feel is bigger than an short SG / EB3 bass or about the same?
