Yesterday it was my second gig with the HX Stomp. An acoustic gig this time. I used my Jack Casady with flats and I wanted a B15 vibe. I made my own preset, but I wasn't 100% sure I liked it. I finally downloaded the SVT Super studio in the Dr Tone Labs website SVT Super Studio I switched the SVT amp to the B15 and made a few adjustments. It sounded incredibly good. The tone was just exactly what I wanted. However, I have to say that it's a 6-block preset for a clean sound. My original preset for clean was just 4 blocks (Comp, Little overdrive with a crossover, Amp and IR). How do you guys create a "clean" patch?

When I got the Stomp I thought that I would go back to pedals in a year or less. Even my girlfriend told me that was going to happen. However, my interest in pedals is still 0. I kept some pedals I like, but I haven't used in a while. And the good thing is that. if I think about some sound that I want to try, I don't have to wait until I buy another pedal. It is likely to be already in the HX Stomp. It is not perfect, but for its price and the size of three regular pedals, it's now a must for me.

Hello guys! I looked for a similar topic but I dodn't find anything. I've always liked the Gibson Graber (why no reissue??). In any colour actually. And the moving pickup. It has something. Of course, I'd love to have one and I will eventually (I hope). However, in the meantime, I've seen some brands which make good copies and some brands that made more budget friendly copies. I'm looking for some info about good copies. One of those popped up in my area but when I wrote the seller, it was already gone. I don't remember the brand. Do you guys know some good Gibson Grabber copies?

I was a pedal geek. I used to have a huge pedalboard which was always changing. I was always looking for new pedals, new sounds, changing pedals that I had for new ones, trying different setups... I bought the HX stomp thinking that I was going to have it with other pedals. But after one year, all my gas was cured. The only pedal I miss and still use is my Ashdown preamp. The rest of the pedals are gone. And I don't miss them

I don't have the ABM600 and people say it's different from older versions. I had the ABM EVO II (and I loved it) but I bought a RM500 three years ago. And it's my main amp. I find it more punchy than the ABM I had. Really good sounding. It's a pitty that the RM heads are not considered when people talk about best class D heads. There is no much publicity about them.

This was my small board before switching to the HX Stomp. Everything I needed for clean sounds and even some overdrive.

I have used it like two or three times. If you have it engaged and then boost the mids with the EQ it sounds good. I prefer flat, but it gives you some more depth. I have never really understand why the smiley face is so famous. I never really like it in any amp I have used. If I have to vote, I'd vote with the Shape off.

Yes! Some gear can not blow us away at first, but then grow up on us. It happened to me with my Yamaha BB605. I'd been looking for one for some years. After I finally got one (and in the finish I liked) when I played it it was just ok. But after some months I got used to it and I love it.

After some playing with my band, I can say that I was wrong about the RM112 cab. It is sounds really good. I tried it with my Fender jazz and my Yamaha BB735 and both basses sounded good. It can keep up with the 5th string.

I just bought an Ashdown RM112 Evo II. I wanted something more compact and portable for small stages. Today it arrived and I was testing it for about 30 minutes. And I have to say that I'm a little bit dissapointed. My impression is that it has a lot of mids. I cut some mids and it sounded better, but I find it a lot of mid focused. What do you guys think?

I'd say that it didn't look exactly like that, but I'm not sure. As soon as I get the bass back, I will let you know.

What do you want to know? I can't take any photos because I took the bass to a luthier to change the preamp. I opened it before that though, and what I could see is that there were like two separate parts of the preamp: one for bass and treble and the other for the mids and the switch.

I have the BB605 and the mid switch is just an on/off mid cut. And I have to admit that I don't really like that preamp. But I think Yamaha called it NE1

I must say that I love my RM500. It's been my main amp for a three years and, even though the year before the pandemic I was playing ampless, it makes me smile every time I plug my bass in the RM head. With just a little bit of drive and a little bit comp I don't even need any pedals. However, since I play ampless 90% of the time, I bought the OriginAL preamp because it's the closest preamp to the RM. The valve drive is a really big difference. I know that someone here said that he asked Ashdown about creating a RM with a valve inside and they said it would be really difficult, but I'd really love that. Something like the Little Bastard550 but with the EQ of the RM. I have the Spyder 330 and I love it, but I prefer the preamp of the RM. Anyway, I think the RM is one of the most underrated class D heads in the market and I love mine

Yes. I wrote about here (in this thread or in the forum, but I don't remember where). I have to set the input relatively low because it starts clipping very soon. I wrote Ashdown about it and they told me that the RM has more gain (compared to the ABM that is the one that I used to compare it to). I more or less got used to it. It startrs clipping with the VU meter at 10-11

My RM500!! I also want to ask you something. Even though I'm quite happy with that cab, I have just bought a RM112. The reason is that I wanted to downsize my rig because I sometimes play in small venues that prefer something smaller. And I want to swith to two 112 too. So I just bought one and I was curious if it is a good idea to use the 112 with the 210. I have never really liked to combine different size speakers. What do you guys think?

I have to say that I'm surprised that the Yamaha BB234 is not in the list. My first bass was an Indonesian Squier Affinity P-bass that I still have and I think it's a really great instrument. It is a Squier and you can notice in the details, but it sounds cool.

Hi guys! I am considering this head because I've always liked Orange but I've never owned one bass amp by them. I really wanted the 4 stroke, but I prefer Class D for the size and weight. I like the EQ and the overall clean sound (for what I heard on Youtube). That's why I'm considering this over the Terror Bass. However, I'm concerned about the DI (which says Post EQ and Volume). I'm used to having Post EQ with my Ashdown, but what about post volume? Does the volume knob affect the DI? I don't think that would be a smart design. I would understand an independent volume knob, but not the volume in the amp. What do you guys think?

Since you won't be gigging, I'd go with the Studio combo. I have no experience with the Studio range, but I do with their AAA Vintage 12 and it sounds really good. If gigging could be a possibility, I'd go with the RM and RM cab. I love my RM head, but I cannot use it at low volume in my apartment. However, you could also play with people with the Studio 15. If I were you, I'd get the Studio combo.

I used to be like that I admit. And I always wanted to play with my amp and cab. Then, I realised that since I was always getting DI'ed from the head and the rest was in monitors, I switched to the preamp of my amp but in a pedal.
