  1. I trully love them. I will try to get one in the near future. Wow, yours looks amazing. Is it like blue/gray? Love the new finish!!
  2. Well, the BBN5 is not a bad bass... Kind of my dream bass 😆😍
  3. JHS Pulp N Peel always on. Not too much, just a little bit.
  4. Thanks for sharing! I couldn't watch it yesterday. His bass sounds really good and the finish is really cool. I wish Yamaha did more finishes like this one in their higher range. Even though I love my Sunburst finish .
  5. I saw they posted them on Facebook and I had gas attack... I was looking at the 12" by Orange, but now that Ashdown has one I will probably get one by them. And the 210 is also tempting. I wonder how they compare to the RM cabs.
  6. Only 3? 1-Gibson Grabber. I've always wanted one. A Ripper would also be cool. 2-Music Man Stingray 5 Especial in blue. 3-Squier CV Bass VI. Just weird and cool.
  7. I really like it. Better than the Aguilar Tone Hammer IMO, which is the other one that I have. The EQ is very useful. The valve overdrive goes crazy very quickly. At 9 is already a very high gain overdrive. It is also very interactive with the input knob. The best thing is that you have an overdrive level, so you can get clean and overdrive tone without a jump in volume. I will try to record some overdrive sounds
  8. I know you told us about this bass in the thread but I couldn't find it. Is a BB414 right? And the pickguard was made by a luthier? I have to tell you: orange is my favourite colour and I'm considering buying a BB with that same finish from a local store...
  9. I completely agree
  10. Me too! I really like to watch what and how people are playing. Really cool @WalMan
  11. Pretty cool man! And the tone is really good. Which bass is that? Awesome playing.
  12. I saw two stores having them at 179 pounds. I was really tempting to get the Studio compressor...
  13. I'm curious too. Besides the All about the bass video on YouTube, I have seen nothing. I'm really curious about the Studio and the Velvet
  14. They are always on. I starting to use them because I go ampless 99% of the time. The HPF cuts the subs. I started to set it at 60Hz. Especially with my 5th string bass, it just sounds more tight. It gives more room to the kick drum (my drummer likes bassier kick drums) and it protects the PA and the amp. I use the LPF as the rolloff of a very transparent bass cab without tweeter. It helps especially with distortion. If I use a cab with a mic, I don't use the LPF
  15. A little update in mine: The Aguilar Tone Hammer goes... The Ashdown Original preamp comes
  16. In my opinion (and experience), you have to think first one thing: do you want a complex comp or a simpler one? Because you said that you were too worried that you were going to mess your tone because the MXR had too many controls. It's a long read, but in this thread you have a lot of options https://www.talkbass.com/threads/testing-compressors-cali-smoothie-empress-diamond-keeley-fea-darkglass-doc-lloyd-jhs-more.1345638/ In my case, I had the TE Hypergravity. Awesome compressor. You can use it as a simple compressor or you can really complicate yourself. And the tone was fantastic. After trying out a lot more, I finally got a JHS Pulp N Peel v4. Very simple and awesome sounding (I sold it and I had to buy it back because it's my favourite compressor). The EBS (the latest version especially) is a really good one too. And the Diamond. In my opinion, first you have to take off the list the ones with too many knobs, if that's what you want. You said the MXR had too many knobs but the Cali has a lot too.
  17. I have the M5 and it's fantastic. But it's a one-effect pedal. I use it to try new sounds mainly. It was in my board (I used it as a chorus, as a delay and sometimes as a filter) but the fact that I couldn't combine those sounds and that it required 500mA to make it work it had to go. I still have it to have fun at home. If you can, get a M9
  18. Since this all started, I look in the Ashdown webpage everyday to see what I can buy. Unluckily, I could only afford the OV1 meters (but I'm exciting about it). I was about to buy the RM112 cab but I was too slow. The Little Bastard 550 is really tempting (even though I already have the RM500 and a Spyder330). The BTA is probably the amp of my dreams 🤤 PS The pre production NM2 flew (I was thinking about buying it and now it's gone). I'm thinking about the regular NM2 or the Drive Plus. I am familiar with the latter (I had one). But the NM2 sounds too good

  20. I'd choose the Ashdown RM500. My last gigs were ampless with IEMs, and I use a Tone Hammer pedal. However, I have used the Tone Hammer heads and to me, they always give me the impression that they were going to break easily. I must admit that my band is very loud and even the Tone Hammer 350 managed perfectly, but I don't why, I cannot trust them entirely. When I gig with my RM, I don't use the Aggie. And I always receive compliments about the sound. I love the RM and I have never tried any other head that I really love. But If I had to choose another one, I'd go with Aguilar TH. Another brand that I have used regularly is Markbass LM. But I don't really like them unless I use the Tone Hammer preamp. Kind of Off topic: One of the things that I don't fully undertand is the EQ of the RM. I really like it on the TH. Bass at 40Hz and treble at 3.5 kHz. But the Ashdown is Bass at 100Hz and Treble at 7kHz. The EQ on the Ashdown I think it's a little bit too high. However, I used the head with my computer as a preamp and I really liked the sound I got. And I liked the Bass at 100Hz. But I think I miss a lower value. Like In my head 100Hz is already in the Low mids... But in my ears was fine
  21. Yes, I use the DI know. I was just curious about the send and return of the amp. And yes, adding a second cab would be much more efficient, but I only have one cab now. But what you say it's true, there is no much difference
  22. I just prefer the tension and the sound. if there's no other way, then I just put the 5th through the bridge
  23. Hey guys, a quick question. How do you set up the 5th string on the BB735 (I guess it works for every model)? I have the strings throught the body but I cannot get the B properly adjusted on the 12th fret. The other ones are perfect (and even on my 734), but the 5th string is a pain in the donkey. I cannot get it right. When I had the strings throught the bridge, I ultimately could putting the saddle all the way back. I cannot do that with the strings throught the body (which I much prefer). It's a Dunlop Regular nickel 125
  24. Hi guys, I have been playing ampless for the last two years. However, I have an Ashdown Spyder 330 and I wanted to experiment today with it. I plugged my bass to the amp and the send of the amp to my computer. The thing is, I thought the Gain should have affected the output, but it didn't. Actually, none of the controls seemed to affect the signal. It kinda sucks because I wanted to use that cool preamp with the power section of my RM500 (in the weird cases that the 330 wouldn't be enough). However, it doesn't seem it won't work. I think I read somewhere that the effects send and return of the Spyder came before the preamp. Is that right?
  25. It's a very crappy pic, but this is my "new" setup. I've been using it for a while now, but today I put the power plant on the top (because under the pedals was always falling). And also the Ampeg Liquifier has replaced the Mooer Ensemble Queen. I don't really like small pedals (the HPF and LPF must be there, so no complaints). I really like it. The signal goes this way: Tuner-->HPF-->Compressor-->Octaver-->Overdrive/Fuzz-->Chorus-->Delay-->Booster-->LPF-->Preamp
