I have just sold my Cort GB Modern 5 to Steve. He has been great to deal with throughout the whole process.

Hello All, I am looking to move on my recently acquired Cort Modern 5 bass. It has a remarkable spec for the price and is superlight. Over the years I’ve had a few 5 string basses which I haven’t gelled with. I love the sound but playing them is not an enjoyable experience for me at least. I can’t imagine there is any bass out there which has this sort of spec and price weighing 8lbs. Needless to stay the sounds on tap are top drawer as you would expect considering the pickups and pre amp are made by world class companies, Nordstrand and Mark Bass respectively. Photos and details of the full spec are attached. For complete transparency there is a small mark by one of the pre amp toddles, it looks like it might be a tiny finish crack. This does not affect the operation of the instrument in any way and won’t be noticed by anyone except the eagle eyed. In all other respects the bass is as new and comes with a Cort hard case which must be worth a few quid on its own. I have just had the bass set up and new SIT strings have been fitted. I am happy to sell or trade for a nice 4 string PJ or J instrument with a similar retail price (around £1000). I have put this up at the price I bought it for a month ago which was a bit of a bargain. I will obviously sell but I am not looking to discount much from this price. Collection preferred from WN4 near Haydock racecourse, or a meeting can be arranged. Courier could also be arranged at the cost and risk of the buyer but I am not sure I have a suitable box TBH.

Seems a little slower than the original ‘Open your Eyes you can fly’ bassline. Might be my imagination.

Sadowsky Metro Express RV4 (Made In Japan) 2019
MNY replied to Tomalomlom's topic in Basses For Sale
They are marvelous basses. The main difference between the Metro Line and Express, was in the manufacture. The Metro Line was built by Sadowsky Japan when it existed, the Express was made by a different factory to Sadowsky’s spec. I heard it said that the builder could have been Atelier Z or ESP, either way they both make incredible instruments and it looks like yours is no exception. GLWTS.- 6 replies

Sorry all, but I am withdrawing this bass permanently. It’s probably the best sounding and most versatile bass I have owned and to top it off it’s unbelievably light. Thanks to those who have been in touch with offers of trades but it’s time to get off this blooming hamster wheel and to just get into playing more bass! cheers, Mark. -

Available again, my recently acquired Alusonic Django Deluxe. Immaculate condition, super light tone machine, weighing in at just over 7lbs courtesy of a chambered swamp ash body and carbon fibre top with integrated pick guard. The tones available are very useable ranging from full on classic MM, to Pbass and several other variations all of which sound fantastic. Happy to consider trades for Fender, Yamaha , Sadowsky etc with the main caveats being instruments in very good condition and not weighing more than 9lbs. Any questions please ask.

Here is my recently acquired Alusonic Django Deluxe 4 custom shop that I would be happy to sell, but I am really looking for a straight or partial trade. These particular basses with their high specification and extremely light weight retail at over £3000 currently. Whilst this is a very impressive instrument, tone, weight and build quality wise, I find my self hankering after a more simple instrument in the jazz bass vein or similar, maybe even a PBass. The only caveat I have is that I won’t accept anything too heavy owing to my shoulder and back issues. The maximum weight I can consider is in the high 8 pound range. This particular instrument is quite remarkable tone wise with its 5 way position switch allowing wide variation ranging from something Musicmanesque to Jazz bass honk; there is a very convincing Pbass sound in there too. The bass weighs in at 7.3 pounds and balances perfectly. The Hipshot branded tuners do a great job of preventing neck dive and the condition of the bass is excellent with no damage whatsoever. There are a few very minor cosmetic marks on the scratch plate and that’s it. I recently had the nut changed as I had an issue with a buzzing D string. The bass went to the excellent Jack’s in Manchester who discovered the nut had some sort of problem with how it had been cut, so the decision was made to replace it with a nut made from Buffalo horn which is a very hardwearing material. Needless to say this remedied the issue and a set up which was carried out at the same time has allowed for a medium low action which can be tweaked to suit. If you have any questions or offers of trades please do let me know. I am happy to look at instruments of equivalent value for a straight trade or lesser value with cash my way please. Thanks for looking.

Hello All, Following on from my post about Jack’s Instrument Services a few days ago here’s an interesting one which concerns their sister company Tiny Tone. Have a listen and if you have further questions I’m sure the guys will be happy to hear from you. To be clear I have no affiliation with the Tiny Tone company, I’m just an interested bystander doing what I can to help some dedicated and passionate individuals who lack the resources of the behemoths. https://tinytone.co.uk/product/tct/ https://youtu.be/qDp9lN9MX3w

Hello All, I would like to let you know about the excellent service I received from Jack at Jack’s Instrument Services in Manchester. I recently bought a 2nd hand Alusonic Django bass from a well known shop based in the Midlands. Unfortunately upon receipt the strings were dead and required changing, the result of this being an A string that rattled and buzzed quite badly. To be honest I should have sent the bass back but decided it would probably cost me money along with the degree of risk of sending an expensive instrument back by carrier. Upon searching google for a suitable instrument repairer I found Jack’s in Cheetham Hill, messaged him and he replied promptly telling me it was very likely the nut on my bass was incorrectly cut and he was confident he could remedy the issue. I dropped my bass in earlier today and guess what, Jack was spot on with his diagnosis. He was able to craft and fit a new buffalo horn nut which blended in perfectly on my black bass and carry out a really professional set up which resulted in the bass playing perfectly, not a buzz or a rattle in evidence. All for what can be described as a reasonable price all things considered. Suffice to say if you’re in or near Manchester and you need a bass or guitar repairing or setting up, look no further. Jack will be able to help get your treasured instrument back to its absolute best. Highly recommended!!

I have this bass now. Hopefully I will keep it longer than the first two owners. 😬

For Sale, my very recently acquired Cort Elrick NJS 4 string bass in black. The bass was purchased in January 2024 and is pretty much as new. It has been played at home so there is some very minor cosmetic wear but nothing really noticeable. The bass plays and sounds very well and weights in around 8.5 pounds so it’s not at all heavy. I am looking for a straight sale but I will also consider trades for 4 or 5 string basses (Yamaha, Musicman etc) The bass comes in a high quality well padded gig bag which is absolutely spotless. Since their launch they have made quite an impression on the market and the current rrp is anywhere from £900- £995. I am based in Wigan and would prefer collection, but a meet up can definitely be arranged if necessary. Any questions please drop me a line. Thank you for looking.

I have for sale a mint condition Vintage White Sire V5 24 fretless 4 string bass recently acquired from Andertons. I stupidly didn’t buy a gig bag as I had a spare at home which I have since discovered doesn’t fit but I do still have the inner and outer box. This is a lovely instrument but playing fretless bass just doesn’t seem to work for me I’m afraid. I have replaced the stock strings with quality nylon tape wounds which provide a lovely feel and a nice warm fretless mwah especially when the rear pickup is engaged. The action at the moment is medium/ medium low and seems to work well to get the desired fretless sound. This very model is currently listed at £459 on Andertons’ site. I will entertain any offers that are sensible and in the region of my published price. Collection is preferred as I am working away in Spain from Wednesday 3rd. If you have any questions please ask.
