I traded a Dingwall bass into Will who was excellent to deal with, knowledgeable and fair with his price. I wouldn’t hesitate to do business with him again.

I have reluctantly decided to re list my fantastic Elrick Evo Gold 4 string bass after an initial change of heart. It is by a country mile the best bass I have owned, but it is far too much for what I need. I play mainly at home and have come to the realization that I don’t need one of the world’s best bass guitars to do what I do. Bought only a couple of months ago it’s impossible to distinguish this guitar from a new version, it is literally in pristine condition. The action is set medium low and it plays and sounds like a dream been through my Fender Rumble. Please see some info on the spec below which has several significant upgrades. Ideally I prefer a straight sale but I will accept a partial trade for a bass of lesser value plus cash. The bass comes with an Elrick TKL case and tools. Please note that the a similar version of this bass with a lower spec is currently available at a well known UK retailer for well over 4k. The bass weighs in at a startling 3.2 kg or just over 7lbs in old money. Please let me know if you have any other questions. Partial trade wise I am looking for something lightweight in a Jazz style or similar with at least £1000 coming my way please. I’m not really interested in a straight trade for another instrument as I would like a more utilitarian bass. This is more suited to a gigging pro bass player which I’m not. Also if you have a really nice light ish Fender Jazz or super jazz then please let me know. Cheers. Lightweight swamp ash body •Exotic Ebony “10” top – £500 option •Maple neck •2-way adjustable truss rod •Width at nut: 42mm •Bird’s eye fingerboard, radius: 16″ – £300 upcharge •24 frets + zero fret •Medium Fretwire •Glow in dark luminlay side dots – £75 upcharge •34″ scale •19mm string spacing at bridge •Bartolini CB Pickups – £200 upgrade •Bartolini NTMBF 3 band eq, 9v •Switching for active/passive and three way mid frequency switch: 250/500/800Hz •Black Hipshot Ultralight tuners and B style bridge •Dunlop Straploks • Strung with D’Addario 40-100 round wound strings. •TKL Hard case

A man after my own heart. Monkey House are one of the best bands I have heard in many a long year. Great players making fabulous music. ❤️

This is a very reluctant sale for me considering my appreciation of Jazz basses, I believe this is one of the very best I have played. However with my advancing years I find myself needing a little less weight in my basses, not that this is particularly heavy at 9 lbs 5 oz but I am definitely looking for something in the sub 8 lb range if possible. I know many of you will be aware of Xotic bass as they have many fans and endorsers such as Travis Carlton, John Peña, Rufus Philpot,Tetsuo Sakurai and Carmine Rojas to name just a few., This bass is a 2015 model and whilst it has some player wear it has definitely not been abused. The set up allows the bass to play and sound fantastic. I only tend to play it through a Fender practice combo so I am sure through a good rig it will sound epic. As I mentioned I am looking for a lighter bass so the only trades I will consider will have to be for lightweight instruments. There could be a little wriggle room on the price but I am already losing money based on what I paid when I picked this bass up a few weeks ago. This will be a heaven sent instrument for someone wanting a top pro bass for sensible money. It has the hum reduction circuit built in so no single coil hum which would make it an excellent recording tool. I would put this up against most other Jazz basses (Sadowsky, Fender, Bacchus, Overwater etc) and I am sure it will come out quite favourably. Comes with a very sturdy gig bag, certificate, spec card, tags and stickers. If you want to arrange a courier to collect you are more than welcome, I may have a suitable box that can be used. Failing that collection or delivery during a meet up may be possible as I travel up and down the country with my work. FOR SALE ONLY PLEASE AS I HAVE A NEW BASS ON ORDER AND HAVE A 1 IN 1 OUT POLICY. If you have any questions please do let me know.

Hello All. I bought this combo for a project that hasn’t been forthcoming and as I don’t really play live it is total overkill for me. I can’t say enough good things about the tone on tap here, it’s very pure and the combo is extremely powerful as all its 350 watts are delivered into the cabinet. Please note that this particular unit is not designed to be used in combination with another cab, it’s shockingly loud and was designed for stand alone use. The 500/800 watt versions can be used as a stack. I have only used this sparingly at home and the unit is absolutely mint. I believe I haven’t ever turned the volume up to 1, and the gain stays around 11 o’clock ish. This would definitely suit someone who wants a powerful featherweight combo (less than 20lbs) with a really transparent sound. I only ever play it flat and it does the job for me. Ideally I am looking for a sale but I would definitely consider a trade for something of lower value as I only need a practice combo. The GR is totally wasted on me and if I keep it it will never do what it’s designed to do, which is fill rooms with bass loveliness. Unfortunately I cannot ship this as I no longer have the box, but anyone local to me in the North West of England is welcome to come and try the amp. I believe this model is £950 at Bass Direct. I can take more photos if required, it does come with a nice padded cover. Hit me up with any trades amp wise please. Cheers.

I have wrestled with this and withdrawn the bass once already, but I have accepted that I need to move my virtually new Dingwall Combustion 3 pick up 4 string on to a new home. I would much prefer a trade for a nice lightish Jazz style bass. I am based in Wigan and will travel half way to meet for the right instrument. I am happy to put some money in or take a bass plus cash for a cheaper instrument as long as it’s a jazz style instrument in great condition with a decent quality case or bag, with no issues, and a nice set up. My Dingwall is as new. I know you have probably seen this before but I can assure you that it would be difficult for even the most discerning eye to be able to tell the difference between my bass and one off the rack in a shop. It still has the plastic on the control plate and battery compartment. I am also happy to sell and allow any prospective buyer to view the bass first. Please feel free to ask any questions. PLEASE NOTE MY BASS DOES NOT HAVE A QUILTED MAPLE TOP.

Good Morning, I don’t know if you will pick this up as it’s such an old thread. I am thinking of replacing the EMG pre that’s in my combustion would you be kind enough to let me know which Glock pre amp you recommend. I am not very knowledgeable in this area and will be grateful of the assistance. Many thanks.

Hello All, Anyone out there with a nice jazz style bass that might consider trading for my recently purchased Dingwall Combustion 4 string with the 3 pick up option? Ideally I am looking for a nice light Jazz style bass, nothing too complicated just something that plays well and sounds good. I will take some more photos later if necessary, this is just a feeler post as such to gauge interest and see what might be available as a trade. I am not looking to sell as I will obviously lose a fair amount of money. The bass is absolutely as new and is no more than a couple of months old. Looking at the Dingwall stockists it’s difficult to fathom out the pricing structure, suffice to say Andertons have a bass similar to mine with no pick guard for just under £2000. Not trying to be clever here this is just a guide price in case anyone is looking to buy a new one and has a suitable bass to offer in exchange. Cheers, Mark.

Fabulous band, PM is one of the best songwriters of his generation and up there with any the UK has produced. I believe he and Martin are from Consett and PM still resides there. I managed to see them live twice and they were outstanding, great songs that were impeccably well played. Martin was very much the surprise package on bass, simply fabulous. He and Neil Conti made a great rhythm section. PM is still recording as Prefab Sprout although he plays and records all the instruments in his own studio in a controlled environment as he has severe hearing issues.
