  1. I'm after something I like so £600 for an as new, less than 5 months old head! These go for £900ish so take a bargain!
  2. ... Thinning up the collection... Handmade fantastic singlecut bass - in top shape asides from a ding by the side cause I'm silly and didn't have spacial awareness to avoid it. For info, Merlos guitars started in 1978 - their bases are made by Jose Merlos in Alicante, Spain with own preamps and electronics. Note the Active / Passive switch maintains the volume! Specs: Alder Body with Zebrano/Zebrawood top Maple neck with carbon fiber reinforcement and ebony board Merlos 3 way preamp (passive tone) and pickups 34", 19mm spacing Switches for active/passive, humbucker/single and parallel/series Have a look at their basses, you'll see we're talking of instruments on the 2.5k and above so adequately priced for a quick sale! https://www.merlosbassguitars.com/basses/?lang=en
  3. Some come, some have to go sadly! I've a new Merlos bass on the way so this (literally new) needs a new owner... For info, Merlos guitars started in 1978 - their bases are made by Jose Merlos in Alicante, Spain with own preamps and electronics. Note the Active / Passive switch maintains the volume! Specs: Ash Body with Ebony top Maple neck with carbon fiber reinforcement and ebony board Merlos 3 way preamp (passive tone) and pickups 34", 19mm spacing Switches for active/passive, humbucker/single and mid freqs cut. 4. PRICE DROP! 500£ + shipping for a quick sale Selling my Eich T900. Purchased in mid November 2019 and have not left the house so in absolute perfect condition. Nothing wrong with it, just happy to downsize; to me (without intent to offend anyone) Eich is the refined version of GK with better tuned treble. 900w @ 4 Ohm, 600w @ 8 Ohm. The head is about 1.5kg weight I believe, less than 3.5lbs.
  5. @songofthewind indeed! rounder gentler shapes - there's something about singlecut basses that ozzes so much elegance to me! I'll edit it in the specs but also, 3.6kg/7.9lbs weight just! Best, Ander.
  6. Hi gang, Interesting. With this lockdown making me want to move out of my small flat we're renting into our first property, I was somewhat with cabin fever deciding to let go of my bass collection. I wanted to cash them out, get an 'okay' bass and put the rest to the bank. Good twist of fate I ended up sorting a much more than 'okay' new bass, should arrive next week if lucky - after my self inflicted (yet adulting) decision of letting my beloved #1, Alpher Mako, go, I thought I'd never love like that again but I'm excited about this enough to call it a Future New Bass Day. I've had active basses and gotta admit the switch from active to passive (volume drop) gets to me; and likewise, I love love passive basses like the Alpher (superb woods too!) but on stage I like to not touch the amp and change settings on the preamp. This active bass has the same volume when you switch to passive, finally! The new romantic subject is a Merlos Al Andalus, hand made in Alicante, Spain, by Jose Merlos. The singlecut shape is endless mojo and sophistication - specs wise, we're looking at: * 3pc Maple neck with ebony board, 34", maple veneer on the headstock * Neck through, alder body, 'solid semi hollow' design where the holes are not fully shallow - maple top * Active electronics, Volume, Balance, 3 way EQ, switches for mid freq boost, humbucker/single, active/passive * Merlos preamp and pickups - pickup height is regulated from the back so that the fingertips don't get caught by screws nor oxidise them etc. * EBM bridge @ 19mm * 3.6kg / 7.9 lbs weight Until it arrives you'll have to deal with 'just' this gorgeous picture - I'll come back with a full blown review once in my hands. Best, Ander.
  7. Update: only taking cash for this beauty now! still available!
  8. Bump! can consider offers from a firm minimum of 1k£ + a nice bass (jazz preferred, fenders, classic stuff) - 5 strings with a minimum 18mm string spacing. Cash is king, of course.
  9. Thank you and we'll done you! It's a lovely bass - just in search for a new loving home!
  10. I was super interested and excited on them until I saw the price tag.... personally, 2.7k+ is overkill for me - I can get a custom spec'd for that... I was genuinely expecting it'd be around 2k 'just'...! Similar to China Dingwalls etc....
  11. Hi - is this still available? interested in trades with an Alpher Mako adjusting the difference?
  12. Is this one still available? Also I can't seem to find the dings you mentioned.

  16. ON HOLD PENDING THE USUAL - TO UPDATE END OF THE WEEK.
  17. still available? interested in trades with cash my way?
  18. @AndyTravis don't hurt @lee650 more than needed - although I gotta admit I laughed at Roger's green with that caption ha!
  19. personally I find 9lbs to be perfect - less than this, considering any bass' original length and dimensions, it feels 'too light' for me personally. nonetheless, I can definitely tell the difference between 9 and 9.5lbs! 10lbs is my threshold where it starts to feel very heavy so I guess that's my range. Now having said this, which straps do you prefer? it is likely I will have a 10lbs bass coming and I want the most comfortable strap - assuming 11cm/4"? I had a gruvgear neostrap solo at 4 inches but still end up with a shoulder/neck a bit battered as we approach 2hrs - is there any better option? Thank you!
  20. just for closure, the replacement did sound okay! I didn't install it any differently and DR was great in service.
