  1. Damn powerful head. Blown the speakers clean outta that 4x12! Haha 🤪😂😎
  2. Beautiful. My all time favourite Trace head. Shame that Precious Patrick McKensie retired, he could gave helped me with the power lift! That 4x12 beneath shows that Trace were well ahead of the game in lightweight cab design.🤣😂😎
  3. Nice bass. Any particular 4 string in mind? Whereabouts in Ireland are you based? Cheers
  4. Can't believe this provocative, click baity thread is three years old.😂 I have several Vanderkley and BF cabs, love them all and would not part with them. That said my trusty old BF Super Twelve T is (or was i.e.pre Covid) by far the most regularly gigged.😎
  5. I've had both SB900 and SB1000. I must agree with you. I always found there was only I really great tone setting on the 1000 selector, the rest I rarely used. Personally I found the 900 more tonally flexible. I also prefer the SB-R and Elite necks, wider at the dusty end and with pretty inlays! Gobsmacked this is still here. Mike is a great guy. I bought his SB-R60!
  6. Many thanks for your comments and info. I thought the volume control may be more linear. TBH I never use the master vol on my Subway 800 above 11 or 12 oclock max. So point taken and I will endeavour to be less "casual" in my future observations! 😂🤣😂 I love the entire Mesa bass amp range and the relative price reduction in UK, does makes them far more competitive and accessible. Can't wait to try and compare the WD & TT. All I need is a few gigs and a green light to travel to UK!
  7. Well I got a Subway 800+ at what I thought was a great price from Andertons a couple of years back about 250 off RRP it was actually cheaper than the Subway 800, may even have been a pricing error? These new prices are brilliant and even blow that bargain away!. I love the features and tone of the Mesa Subways. Though they do not seem as loud as Markbass and Quilter 800s I own. Looking forward to hear BC reviews of the TT800. May even buy one if gigs ever resume!
  8. I was not generally a fan of relic basses, but I got one of these on a whim in a trade couple of years ago. I was very impressed indeed. Very playable, lovely neck, nice punchy pickups, great tone and the classic dual concentric volume & tone controls. What's not to like. (I added a Badass bridge, and it is now my favourite passive bass) This is a very reasonable price too. GLWS
  9. Superb little amps, great tone, nice clean DI out. Have gigged mine a few times (pre Covid). It goes to every gig and rehearsal in gigbag along with spare cables etc, but actually too good for just a backup.
  10. Been using one of these as my main gigging cab for last few years. Absolutely brilliant. Can't recommend them highly enough. GLWS
  11. Timing is everything!😪 Didn't think this would hang about long!😎
  12. My problem is that I sold a perfect SB1000 in the early 80s to have a WAL custom built. I still have the WAL which is a beautiful instrument, my longest serving bass, and obviously is in a different league to the Aria. However, to this day I still regret having to let that SB go, just couldn't afford both at the time.
  13. That is stunningly beautiful. Have always wanted a Sei. If I hadn't bought a Chris Larkin custom this week, I would be making an offer. Dammit!
  14. Yes seen this, Not sure I like the pledging concept?
  15. Yes they are pricey. From a playability perspective I also prefer the later SBR and Elite versions with slightly wider necks (and snake eye fingerboard inlays. The Eastwoods would be around a third of the price. I have Aria SBs, but I wouldn't have a problem with plagarism, lets face it the Japanese manfacturers invented it
  16. Any fellow Basschatters know anything about Eastwood guitars? From their website they obviously recreate some old classic guitars. What's the quality like? What is the company like to deal with? I love Aria SBs and might consider one if they go into production.
  17. Mine just arrived today and I totally agree with everything Fretmeister says. Superb through headphones and 4 ohm PJB C8 cab. This is small enough to be unobtrusive in the lounge.
  18. This is always subjective. Talk to Alex Claber at Barefaced. I nearly always use a 2nd Gen Super12T these days which is a great cab. I also did a direct comparison between the Gen 3 Super Twin and Gen 3 Big Twin at the Barefaced premises a couple of years ago.. The Super Twin was superb and perfect for all the gigs I ever do, but that said I reckon the Big Twin was the best bass cab I've ever heard.
  19. Expecting one of these to arrive from Andertons tomorrow. It does look very small , or are those very large pliers?
  20. Sorely tempted by this, and surprised it's still here and well worth a bump. These basses have wonderful playability and a great range of tones. The build quality of late 70s, early 80s Arias left Fender etc standing. I think my GAS for Aria pro II SBs is sated for the moment As they say 4 is company, 5s a crowd! GLWS
  21. I always take my Elf to gigs as a back up. Great sound and matched to Barefaced cabs. I have used it in reasonably large venues and theatres with DI. Usually through a Barefaced Super 12T at 4 ohms, it is certainly loud enough for pub and club gigs without DI, and our drummer is not quiet by any means..
  22. ..... and finally the long overdue, Covid delayed deal has been concluded. Chimike is a real gent with the patience of a saint! Many thanks. Anybody got a set of original knobs or hens teeth?
