Hey all I've lost one of the input jacks for my multibass. Anyone know where I can get a replacement? IS it a standard fitting?

What's the state of the art in terms of recorded music these days
I have no plans to go 'non-physical'. It strikes me that the reasons for going 'all MP3' are flawed. Ok so a house fire could take my CD collection. But wouldn't the iPod or Sonos also burn? Indeed one small electrical disaster could wipe out everything. I was on an IT course earlier this year, most of the guys there had gone to hard drive for movies and music. When I asked most of them admitted to losing all their stuff previously due to a hard drive failure. How many now had cast iron backup? Surprisingly few. My theory is that deep down people have grown to relish losing everything. It gives them a chance to redefine their musical tastes by the process of repurchasing. Gives them a killer collection when I still have a seven inch of the Goombay Dance Band somewhere. At this point the hippy skinflint in me rebels. "Hey dude's why you giving all your bread to The Man? Oh and it don't sound as good neither." Don't follow the crowd, you can get the CD off Amazon cheaper than the total album download cost.
No beause it's all ging to be "in the cloud" innit. You don't hold mp3s you just stream off spotify or wherever. And you don't pay a penny for it either (well ok spotify you pay £5 if you don't want adverts). -
Some people might think this is a bit over the top but...

Awesome, I'm really curious, what is your job, if you don't mind me asking? -

I just got a Sonos. Connected to my NAS, last.fm and spotify. The sound can't isn't the same as hifi obviously, but its bloody convenient and\or sweet. My records and CDs are stored up in t'loft now. Now I want one in each room. -
Just stringing my new (to me) lakland decade with labella deep talking flat wounds, thought I'd be fancy and use the string through and lo on the first string as I was tightening the core comes away from the wrapping and the string basically breaks. So, just so you know, labellas and string through do not go. A quic search confirmed it. Er anyone got a single e from the 760fm set?

I had one as my first bass and loved it, slightly shorter scale and very thin neck. Same finish too. Price was about 350 10 years ago too. Ended up giving mine to my old drummer though
I'd get a new pre-amp or change the wiring so that you've got a master volume. If you're used to using your fingers to change the volume, it's a real bastard adapting to using a volume pedal. Volume knobs can also be a bit more precise as I find the sweep on many volume pedals can be quite severe and not as intuitive as you'd think. I use a volume pedal in conjuction with my chorii pedals for swells, but I use the J- East to adjust volume for various sections. Truckstop
Interesting, though this has been prompted my a new bass (lakland decade) and I want to spend time with it in it's factory intended state at least for a while. thisnameistaken, with regards to pedals my chain is this: DBS Multicomp->EBS microbass 11 Link output -> Sonic labs Strobe tuner Output/di -> Amp Cable is certinaly <20ft, but who knows what the future holds... Nyl Ah didn't look at Morley, will check out now

Have gone from one volume knob and little pinky control to jazz layout. I like to fiddle with me volume on stage a lot, so....volume pedal..... Any thoughts? Seems like it's down to Ernie Ball VP JR or the Visual Sounds thing, visual sounds seems to be in the lead: Visual sounds Has flashy lights! The website text was so badly written, it's put me off a bit (At the risk of garnering criticism of my own writing I know) Two inputs, Two outputs, so i could use my two basses 9one active, one passive)

Another one for the Sonic Research Turbo Tuner, it's fanastic, very very very quick, never had any kind of problem with it, built like a tank and it's got lots of flashing lights.

Custom strap maker recommendations please.
odub replied to Soliloquy's topic in Accessories and Misc
I have a harvest strap and a couple of italia straps and I think the harvest has it on quality, though they're both great and the 4 inch italia is really very wide and comfy -
I've got the best amp in the world! (but I never get to play it)

Me too, mesa walkabout, don't drive so never take it out of the house. Even when I have it's bascially been my own monitor. Now I have an ebs micro on my pedal board and everything goes through pa and monitors. -
