Why is picking a band name so bloody hard?

FenderBird Build, it all started with a spare bridge.

The only thing keeping me from plugging her in are the screws for the pickups! I don’t think any stores are open today! I’m deciding on pickguard and control plate material now. neck plate and strap lock... -

I had a brilliant band name revelation a couple days ago and just googled it... dammit... -

I’m not certain but I’m thinking a black scratch plate will look good. If I was fully committed to using this neck I would match the headstock too. The neck is from my MIM Prescision, and while its not super valuable I would like to be able to restore it. -

I still need the flat wound strings, a neck shim, pickup screws, flush mount straplocks and to make a control cover. I think she needs a pickguard too. -
The nail files with pink background and white hearts work better than the blue with white polka dots.

I couldn’t wait until tomorrow, initial stain before I tackle the wiring.... -
I only have piezos in my 6&12 string acoustics, so I suppose I could get a box with that in mind. But I already have a dedicated amp that can carry any venues I would use that at. Power wouldn't be an issue since I intend to at least have a couple pedals available and the board had a supply.
-
Those both look like excellent choices, I have heard good things about the price per value of the Behringer pedals. IT looks like I can have one for under $25 US. I haven't heard of the Countryman brand before, it looks very good, and the $150 price isn't out of the realm of possibility. I had also looked at an Ampeg for around $200 but it was more of an amp in a box. What's the benefit of active vs passive for a DI?

I'm looking at getting a DI box and I see prices for $25 to $400+. I do have a pedal board for effects and would need to run to a monitor, so what features do I need the box to have? Thanks, in advance.

Good news is this is a Holiday week in the US, and starting tomorrow afternoon, I should have everything in motion. Maybe a Cotton Candy Blue acrylic with a shellac topcoat.... I just need foam and screws for the pickups, everything but that and the strings are on hand. I think I have pickup springs in my stash of spares, maybe I'll get lucky and find screws too. I should be playing to thunderous applause by Sunday... -
I have decided to go full rosewood on my next neck, That's just too school for cool.

Body is here but I won't get a chance to do much today. I will have to rewire the EMG system, the wires between the pots and back are too short. -
Not a fan of jazz basses either, or any offset Fender design. L-O-V-E Precision Basses. I like white, blue and pink guitars, not a fan of coffee tables but have a couple, and black guitars but have a few. HATE Gibson Cherry, but have 2... 6 string and 4 strings, never a 5. Love weird shaped Gibson designed basses except the RD. Hate lined fretless. Prefer maple boards for looks, but really don't care what my guitar actually has. I like gold hardware, and usually have one piece on my parts guitar, not likely to have a full set. I do not care about neck profiles or nut width or string spacing. BASS: Roundwounds on fretless, Flats on fretted, no exceptions. I de-fretted a bass because I liked the roundwounds that were on it. I change bass strings sometimes when I get a new bass... sometimes... and never again. LOVE Gibson 6 string guitars, But prefer Fender Basses. HATE flavoured coffee! no cream no sugar.

Disregard the fugly Jazz.... my #1 and #2 on either side.

Hohner Jack. The 5’s pop up once in a while but you have to jump on them.

I forgot I need strings! I really like the EB cobalt flats, and the D'dario Chrome flats, but I may go with Roto flats (66?) all of which I can get at my local shop. But I'm really tempted to mail order another set of Pyramid Golds.... I just love those.... -

When I was assembling my fretless PBass, I ended up with a spare bridge. I can’t just have a spare bridge laying about, so I gathered a few other parts. My neck choices are a one piece maple tele, or a rosewood Pbass, I think a TeleBird might even confuse me, so I’m leaning toward the rosewood. Either neck works well on my fretted Pbass. EMG JV pickups, and a cheesy Chinese gold neck plate... I had to wait a while for this body, but I should have it within the week. I’m going for a lighter blue than LPB, not certain on the shade... For the next build, I’m starting with only a Pbass pickup and wiring harness.... I’m thinking double Pbass pickups and a non reverse body and a full rosewood neck...

Glue makes it one piece.

Your best (and worst!) bass gear purchases of 2019?
AngelDeVille replied to Al Krow's topic in General Discussion
I picked one up this year as well, I think my Pbass'es have a slight edge for me, but the split coil sound on this bass is phenomenal. -
Question: Who gives the best "bass face"?

Fender Road Worn series, are they discontinued?

I classify fretboards in two categories. 1) Maple 2) not Maple -
Two days and about $10 in supplies.... including the defret. before... after...

I think my pedalboard has a total of an hour playing time on it, I tend to test out pedal and they are either yay or neigh, if they suck for bass I put them on my guitar board I don't use. I do need a synth pedal though....
