  1. I got a neck through Epiphone Thunderbird with a hardcase for $200. (155GBP) Got rid of the bothersome frets, and fugly sunburst finish...
  2. Since I was converting her, I got rid of the hideous sunburst finish.... and lineless as well... I didn’t get the Hohner out for a group pic, but I already had these other two out. Hohner..
  3. That's a nice looking socket, but crap for function. Looks like @jrixn1 for the win! unless you want to heavily modify your bass.
  4. Would a Gretsch or Les Paul jack plate fit? I’m not familiar with Yamahas.
  5. I mostly use Fender and Marshall amp knobs so those brass adapters are always on hand.
  6. My new neck was lost in the post, and finally arrived. I also installed flush mount strap locks on the white basses, and thumb rests on the MIM’s.
  7. I just experimented for the first time with B_E_A_D, and since I generally use 45-100 strings my E/B was too floppy. I have some take offs from my 6 string with a 130, so I'm going to buy an extra nut and try them out. I don't think I'll miss the loss of the G too much, and 5 strings don't thrill me.
  8. WOW! She is a stunning beauty! I totally despise tort, but I think this may be the one case where it will work. Congratulations!
  9. I just cleaned up both my pedal boards that I don't use, and have about 10 extra pedals, but I can't sell them because I may need them again.
  10. I'm planning to gig with my 50w Crate and 75w Ampeg, I can use one or the other or both, and they are still smaller than most stacks. I'm slowly researching DI boxes.
  11. I'd show up to a jazz jam with that! My pink fretless Thunderbird will be there.
  12. @invertigo I was planning a tide pool body build, when the Japanese body turned up. Love that color Japanese on the left with Warmoth neck, model 1 neck, Duncan bridge, so ignore that. 2019 Geddy Lee middle. 2002 or 2007 Pbass can’t remember I think 2002 and the Japanese is 2007.. The right is my #1, stock pickups. Japanese is my #2. The Jazz is my number #8, I’m still not convinced the offset body style will catch on.
  13. Depends on the set up. I’m in the midst of an active jazz pickup FenderBird build. Next build is is a Telexplorer with dual Pbass pickups. Maybe with a reverse body? Haven’t decided that part.
  14. Pull the frets and Re-plane the fretboard. If it’s not too warped, the inlays should remain intact . re-fret or not after.
  15. I have a 2006 SG Bass and I’m not sure how the neck pickup compares to the old EB pickups. I do know I don’t even use the bridge pickup, I don’t know why it’s there.... I also have a Model one I think it’s a “will power” on my other baby.
  16. You do know he plays bass on most of his recordings. I do like the bass very much.
  17. I have a set of 32" scale strings sitting in a drawer because of another companies misinformation about scale length. Thank you Danelectro
  18. The signature thread got me thinking.... If I were famous (for music) my signature instrument would be... Bass guitar... Some form of Fender Pbass... a combination of these two.. MIM or MIJ Definitely a reverse telecaster headstock, rebranded quarter pounderish pickup, fretted or fretless options, color choice of Olympic White, Shell Pink or Lake Placid Blue, anodized pink or gold pickguard. 6 string guitar... USA Gibson only, no imports... Flying V. 57 paf pickups, bigsby, color choices, Polaris White, Baby Pink or Pelham Blue. Checkered pickguard. or an SG, same specs.... Harmonica..... Rebrand a Hohner Toot’s Theilmans Hard Bopper, and we are golden... What would your signature model be?
  19. Ohh yeah I had a Frank Iero Wilshire too, but traded it for a Jazz Bass.... I had to look up who Frank was... and I hated the Jazz Bass... traded it toward a 6 string corvette.
