I finally made a cardboard neck pocket template so I can whip up a shim when I need to. I have some really nice maple veneer, but I end up using playing card type material. No changes in "Tone" with any material.

I bought a bass to go with my set of Pyramids, and I'll be able to switch them between my favorite Pbass, and my new Jazz since they have standard Fender headstocks. I only have had one set of Labellas ever and I really didn't like them. They are double ball end, and they were unravelling past the nut and saddles. And they sounded very clunky, and not in a good way. One set is not a true picture of the brand, but there are too many other good choices to give them another shot.

Do you know why divorces are so expensive? Because they are worth it.

I dont buy any unless they have the features and price I want. I own a yngwie strat, and am waiting on delivery of a geddy lee bass. Unofficially I have a 93 strat plus that is the precursor to the Jeff Beck and Clapton Sig strats. I have an 89 Charvel spectrum, and a Jackson SL4X which are again unofficial Sig models of Jeff Beck. I have an 83 Earl Slick Phantom too. I have a mudbucker in the neck of my MIJ pbass because I'm not spending 2k plus on a Sheehan Yamaha, but I would like to. Here's a bunch of random pics of the above guitars. That's the set list from this picture.

I’m having trouble remembering high brands of flats I have on my Pbass. I'm pretty sure they are d’darrio chromes. EB cobalts on the EB bass. Pyramids on the SG. I had LaBellas on my Hohner Jack before I defretted it. pyramids are my favorite flats.

Much better...

My neck finally arrived! I spent the entire evening setting it up. I ended up putting roundwounds on all 3 fretlesses... fretlessi...?

Who influenced you to pick up and start playing Bass.

Prescott Niles, the attitude and swagger can’t be beat. -
My previously listed MG fretless has flats on it, and I'm not really fully bonded with it. I'm not sure if the flats are the reason. I didn't put the LaBella flats back on the Hohner because while they are the only double ball end flats I could find, I wan't impressed with the quality. I have a precision Warmoth fretless neck in the post (due Friday), but I already have a set of pyramid flats for it. I'm wondering if I shoudln"t get a set of Ernie Ball Slinky's to put on her first. I have flats on all my fretted basses except one, and that's because I was too lazy to change them. I don't want to open the set of pyramid flats unless I'm sure... They are quite pricey on this side of the pond. And if I don't use them I will have to buy another bass to go with them.

I just strung this one up after converting it. She’s one of the few basses I have roundwounds on.

We need to limit the videos to "bass player dancing to Mustang Sally" That should keep this thread to under 100 pages....- 50 replies

5 weeks and my neck hasn't shipped yet.... I'm getting impatient... but it's not like I don't have a bass to play... But the logo is ready...

I have never been called “tidy”... ever...

The new addition just arrived...
-
I had two hangers to replace the rack, I think I’ll add one more.

Bronco or Talman. I'm looking at a Bronco tonight for my 6 year old.... well.. I'll let him play it too...

I have mentioned I could try to make it more rounded, and she seemed to like the idea. This is a bass she got at a garage sale and the imperfect intonation of the frets offends her perfect ear. I am doing a conversion on one of my basses and offered to "practice" on hers. I have not seen the offending guitar yet, but fretboard thickness will also be a factor. Also some of the import guitars had lighter wood dyed to look like rosewood so color will also factor in. From speaking with her it could be from the late 70's. I'm also not sure what radius it currently wears. it could already be 7.5" and I wouldn't go further than that. I'll be using black styrene to fill the slots, and dyeing the board as dark as I can get it to make it look as lineless as possible. And making an ebony nut. I was going to get a set of sanding blocks already but I wasn't planning to get a 7.5". Most of mine are 9.5" 10" or 12".

Without pictures, we can’t really give accurate information.
-
Try as many as you can, and buy the one that speaks to you regardless of scale length. My favorite bass is a 30.5" Gibson, but the one I practice most with is a 34" fender. no issues switching between the two.
-
No, any radius changes will be a surprise, and limited by the existing bridge adjustability.
-
And I was gonna buy 3.....

Are the fines imposed going to be used to discount the guitars? or go into lawmakers pockets?
