  1. I use very sparing amounts of a moly based paste. Does not attract dirt, fluff, loose coins, etc, and being moly it has a molecular affinity with steel so stays where you put it.
  2. I'm not fussed either way - a good tone is a good tone. In any case, I ise a preamp for gigging so I can DI into the mixer, so regardless of the signal coming out of the bass I can juice it up a little anyway.
  3. Aye, they believe in conspiracies, but then sign up to Felchberk and give away all of their information in one of the biggest humans-as-fsctory-farm-sources-of-profit conspiracies going.
  4. Ive sent exploration drilling equipment by air, and one lot was badly damaged with the nosewheel collapsed on the Hicksville Airlines 737 freighter as it landed in Panama. So that leaves driving or rowing...
  5. This vaccine rubbish annoys me. I'm triple jabbed and it hasn't harmed me one teensy bit, although if I face due North at two minutes to the hour I receive the shipping forecast on my fillings.
  6. Ive found the same. The witch doctor I met on holiday in Papua New Guinea did a much better job on my Nurembergs than the NHS ever did.
  7. As a geologist myself I can confirm that places like Iceland don't bear any real scrutiny as a comparison to the lunar landscape. An entirely differnet mechanism behind the vulcanism at each. The biggest blow to the lunar landing conspiracists seems to be that the trails of the astronauts footprints are visible from lunar orbit, and the US, India and the japanese have photographed these trails from lunar orbit. The Chinese will also have been in a position to view them with multiple unmanned craft, although they have not specifically stated that they have done so.
  8. Interesting point Mr XCR. Nearly all these "cosmic ray powered government 5G trackers built into vaccines" believers wouldn't leave the house without their government mandated citizen tracking module, AKA mobile phone. They complain about imaginary tracking in vaccines yet pay good money to willfully submit to a device with genuine tracking potential. Whats that all abput?
  9. My theory is that Elvis died having it off with a groupie, and Priscilla was so angry she propped his corpse on the lavvy to forever humiliate him.
  10. We have a bit of "humour" in our act. Our singer has a great singing tone, but a slightly limited range. About halfway through he'll apologise to the audience, saying his voice is a bit tired. I'll pipe up on my mic, tell him to stop moaning because he has it easy. We'll then have a pretend argument which ends with me saying "right, if you think you can do better then be my guest", and I hand him the bass. He's not a bassist at all but I've taught him to play House of the Rising Sun, so I'll blast through the vocals and he does bass for that one song. We then shake hands and swap back to normality. Invariably earns much-O applause from the audience.
  11. Sorry to hear that Brig. That sort of thing is part of the reason I prefer to get in with new bands at the point of formation.
  12. Apology accepted. And please accept my apology for the unintended offence caused.
  13. ??? All of my HB's are on the lighter side of average. My heaviest by a good margin is a Fender at nearly 20 times the price ofnthe HB's.
  14. Thats just like me Nail Soup. In real life im generally pretty quiet. Meeting new people makes me nervous, stepping into the boxing ring used to make me nervous (and rightly so, because I was a dreadful pugilist), all sorts of things in daily life make me nervous... Except gigging. It's what I love doing, and it's the one thing that draws attention to me that gives me a frisson of excitement instead of a dose of jangly nerves.
  15. I never once used the word banter. You have, I have not. My comment was in relation to a real incident where our female co-vocalist drove into my car. It was not my intention to offend anyone so deleted it. And still you moan. Get over it.
  16. Coming up for a decade of near daily service from my GB10. Arguably one of the most important pieces of kit I own.
  17. That really is uncanny. I did indeed present her with the dustpan and brush from the boot of my car (kept for sweeping out the detritus from the dog when Ive been shooting) and she used it to sweep up the bits that had broken off her MX5.. I didn't gift wrap it. While I am a fan of preparedness, I never foresaw the need to carry wrapping paper, tape and scissors just to satisfy you. You can feign as much indignation as you like. It has actually happened, and to the one female member of my band. When the topic comes up it's usually her the first to take the rise out of herself.
  18. Sadly, I must correct you. I most assuredly do have a female bandmate. And at one gig she reversed her car into mine...
  19. Perhaps youre over thinking this? Small venues like pubs I use my Orange Crush 100. No need for monitors or owt set up like that in somewhere small and tight. Anything larger we go through the PA and sub.
