warwick thumb nt5 from 1999 for 940 pounds. Yes or no?

Thats a very attractive price if you're a fan...which I'm not. Nothing abainst them, they just don't excite me, and a bag of sand gets some very tasty alternatives. -
Squier Classic Vibe 50's Precision Bass - NBD/Review. Astounding.

Lordy, that's hefty. I presume it fitted in the bass ok and had sufficient clearance under the strings? -
Playing songs in a covers band you dont always like.?
Bassfinger replied to bubinga5's topic in General Discussion
Yep, i have to play some Kelly Clarkson and Katy Perry, even some Thomspon Twims. Not good. However, the bands USP is doing hard rock covers of cheesy pop hits, as well as the usual indie and rock covers, so its gone from being a chore to actually being quite fun. -
I read the thread title and entered with great trepidation....

Light vintage blonde with vintage red tort pickguard, and vintage tint maple neck. Oh yeah, baby!

Indeed, new strings every gig, or every other gig or so is the normal at that level. Of course, at that level they may be earning 10 or 15 grand a night for playing a large venue, so can afford it. Or they may even have sponsorship deals with string manufacturers. For mortals like myself its a case of finding a sting that sounds consistent for longest. Not necessarily new or bright, but decent enough once played in and then consistently maintaining that for a long period.

Indeed. The low side of medium for me, typically 3-3.5mm at the 17th. No lower. As you say, sounds much better than super low for the sake of it. Also, too low compromises manipulation for hammer ons, pull offs, etc.

Harley Benton Jazz Bass - JB 75 Vintage Series Fakeroo!

Aye, my '69 precision is so heavy my other basses are in orbit around it. Fortuntely im a 19 1/2 stone amateur powerlifter, so even the most anvil like bass bothers me not. I give thanks to the Lord that I don't have to worry about that. -
I have 2 favourites. Jack Bruce, the quintessential rock/blues musician. Derek Smalls, because I have the same moustache (yes, honest, I really do).

A lot of HBs seem to have dual action rods these days.

Thats a deliberate satin finish, which has itself aged and tarnished a little. Cheaper than bright chrome as it doesn't require the surface to be polished to the same standard.

Fair observarion, although im sure Behringer never anticipated anything other than a bass being connected to their bass DI pedal (BDI 21), which is what I use. PS, would love to see the thermain in action.

Indeed. Outside of America the words "Made in the U.S.A." are rarely associated with quality, so it does seem odd that they have hold much a view. American or German car? American or Japanese electronics? American or Italian coffee? German, Japanese and Italian for me please. Anyway, Behringer user here. Always been happy enough for the outlay. DI box, tuner and overdrive, and despite people moaning about the plastic cases (thats why they are so inexpensive) they are extremely robust and surivive night after night of me doing the fandango on them, and im 19 1/2 stones. I recently gave them a clean with baby wipes and the came up like new. I could spend 3 or 4 times as much on Boss gear, for little appreciable performance, sound or durability gains.
