Hi @Lozz196had the bass checked today and no loose wiring or dry joints, the pots are all ok as well. Although there is resistance measured at the neck pickup it seems like the problem is somehow connected to the neck pickup. I'm having to send it back to Fender repairs to investigate and sort!

Hi, I have a 4 month old Fender Jazz Bass custom shop bass. It has been working fine but yesterday, out of the blue, the neck pickup developed a problem. There is very little (but some) volume from the neck pickup as well as a lot of what sounds like earthing noise when the bridge pickup if turned down. The bass hasn't been bumped or dropped and has been well cared for. I've looked under the control plate and the wiring looks to be fine as far as I can see. Any ideas about what this could be? Cheers. Alan
