Only couple of months old. Red Phil Jones Headphone amp still boxed. This is how it is described: Mobile Headphone Amp with D/A converter The PJB BigHead is not big at all. In fact it is barely larger than an iPhone. The "Big" is about the sound. It functions first as an awesome bass headphone amplifier with 2 band EQ ( +/- 18db @ 60 Hz and +/- 18dB @ 5KHz) set for optimization of all kinds of bass instruments. Unlike consumer electronic MP3 players and smart phones that have very small power output of around 20 milli-watt to drive headphones, the BigHead has more than 10 times the power. This contributes to a far more exhilarating listening experience with increased resolution and dynamics. Even if you are just listening to music, the BigHead will be a great improvement to your regular headphones, adding more listening pleasure. A more important function of the BigHead is being a recording tool both in digital and analog. As an Analog Digital Converter, it has the finest BURR BROWN digital components. The USB out is 48KHz 16Bit digital conversion. In other words, recording your bass onto Pro Tools will give you exactly what you wish for and absolutely nothing else. Maybe you need an analog pre amp. The Big Head can do that too. It will provide up to 12dB of gain and better than 96dB signal to noise ratio. Just use the headphone out jack to feed an amp or mixer. It has an internal lithium-ion rechargeable battery that is fed by its USB jack, so any computer or appropriate cell phone charger can charge it in less than 3 hours, but it can play for up to 8 hours.

Anyone using a pair of Barefaced One-10 cabs?
Alanbass replied to fretmeister's topic in Amps and Cabs
I'd be really interested to hear how two One10's works out in practice. I had wondered if (to cope with increased volume through a small light enclosure) it might mean that the mids would be enhanced with a loss of bass especially playing 5 string. I've got no option now but to seek a very light weight cab (s) so very keen to consider these cabs. -

Alanbass replied to Kiwi's topic in Amps and Cabs
Hi Kiwi, I used to have a Hartke A35 bass amp as a practice amp. But I have sold it a couple of months ago and bought myself one of teh EBS Session 60 amps. It has awedge shape and copes with the low B on my Celinder very well. I think that EBS amp do tend to have a sound of their own whhcih I guess you might not like but to my ears the amp porduces a lovely balanced sound. I was so pleased with the sound that I found myself selling my Genx Benz Stremliner and buying an EBS HD 350 amp to go wiht my Vanderkley cabs. I'd recommend that you have a go at one of these EBS amp and see if it is what you want. There are a few reviews on YouTube but they don't do it justice (in my view!). Alan -
Sold a Genz Benz Streamliner to Jem. It was a pleasure to deal with jem and the transaction went smoothly and without a hitch. I would echo Martin's comments about trading with jem in full confience. A gent to do business with. Alan
