I was looking for one of these recently. Great in the vintage cream and the added bonus of the classic body shape. They're about $1,000 in the States so I guess that's about £700 here. It's the Ray35

Just sold a Status Energy 6 to Nick. What a nice friendly guy. Great communication, paid promptly and a nice cup of coffee and a chat to boot when we finally met. Highly recommended.

Just bought a bass from Martyn. What a lovely guy. Been such a help in getting the bass about 250 miles nearer to me, and on a family weekend away. Very fair price, great comms and ultra helpful. Buy / sell with utmost confidence. Top man.

Couple come to mind. Both Steve Lukather (well certainly the first one and probably the second one) Rosanna and Running with the night by Lionel Richie.

I live 20 minutes away from a lady bass player who played bass for Jet Harris whilst he played guitar. Even more obscure is that Phil Collins once bought me a lager and lime and he wasn't a bass player.

Normally, I'd attempt some flippant and mildly amusing reply but to be honest, this sounds like a situation to be avoided at all costs. Sort of made even worse as her mother is seemingly going along with the plan.

Used to play in a pub band in the UK where one of the two guitarist's was the lead vocalist. Also, a very clear case of "it's my van and P.A. so it's my band. He had a habit at the end of songs of shouting out "take me home" and before the other guitarist's solo "tell me a story" Probably acceptable and convincing if your Pat Travers or some other renowned rocker but not if you've got a squeaky little voice like he had. Rest of us would die of embarrassment.😂 Anyone had the same problem?

Just got back from the Toto gig in Schaffhausen, (Switzerland) Absolutely awful mix. Usual trend, bass drum so loud it made you feel sick. E and B strings on the bass like something from Close encounters, everything above, non existent. You wouldn't have even known they had a sax player apart from the fact he's 6ft 4in tall. Couldn't hear Lukather for the first three numbers and lead vocals we're inaudible. Support act though...(Rodger Hodgeson) great mix. Whole drum kit behind an isolation screen and mic'd properly. Only complaint was panned Tom's.

Artistic integrity doesn't really have a lot going for it when it's up against the whole audience dancing all night and a hot and sweaty band going home grinning from ear to ear because they've had so much fun, and got paid for it.

Yes handy being able to identify stuff by looking at the guitarist's hands and I do also play guitar and know lots of chords but I think what mainly gets me through gigs and deps is having learned the song in the first place. I can see how it all may help in a jam/open mic situation but invariably, people will want to play the same old stuff that most people know. Even if I've never played it, the chances are I've heard it at some point in the last 65 years😂

Played at a village fete this afternoon. Lovely crowd, nice food tons of fun on stage due to our latest jape of taking the drum kit to bits whilst he's playing it.

It's quite bizarre, surrounded by cows, farmers and old ladies in surgical stockings, gigwise it's busy. Last night's gig (played a blinder) was my 6th in 8 days including a dep I took on. At it again tomorrow afternoon so that'll be 7 in 10 days. It's seasonal, April till maybe October, but there's lots going on. As Leslie Crowther used to say "come on down"

Series 6 300watt head and a pair of 4x10 cabs. That florescent tube in front was beautiful and so was the sound. Was using mainly Status at the time despite not being a huge fan of Mark King. Never had one problem with it. Loved it. Went to Eden, then Mark bass and now on ultra light GB shuttle rig but then I am 65 with a shot back, knees and arthritis 😂
