Get the bass set up first, buy a s/h Zoom etc. It's what I use too and when I need to bypass, I just hit "tuner" it'll have probably 90% of what you want in the presets.

Are her band still called the "Luvvers"?

My wife suggested singing that at an open mic night so I quickly worked out the chords and we went for it. I'd forgotten what a great song it was. Shout, is the opening number in our band. It's a real attention grabber and goes down well.

Just a quick question, probably a silly one, but hopefully someone here will know. If two songs get played on the radio, one, as a one off say, by an unknown artist, and the other by someone really famous like Elton John for example, is there any difference in the royalties paid to each artist for that one play of their respective songs?

Supertramp. Hated them at time. Thought it was all too twee and middle class. Over the last ten years or so, the (songs rather than the band) have really grown on me, culminating in us seeing Roger Hodgeson back in August. Stole the show from Toto to be honest.

However, (I'm 65 btw) there was just as much crap around in the 60s and 70s as there is today. Conversely, there have been some really great artists over the last 10-15 years. I think the reason you hear this a lot, usually from us oldies, is that the sixties especially was a time of great change in music, quite a revolution in fact so, when you heard something new and good, it was usually vastly different from what had come before. That's much harder to do nowdays but there is still some great stuff getting produced.

Not knowing about Jaco Pastorious will have no physical effect on anyone's lives and will probably make no difference whatsoever to the playing ability of 99% of the world's future bassplayers. I'm not trying to be sarcastic here. It's just a fact that to some kid who wants to play Foo fighters covers with their mates, Jaco Pastorious made no contribution to bass playing whatsoever as far as they're concerned.

Love the musicianship but lyrics and wacky vox spoil it for me.
